@squishzilla probably your default application for xml is Edge. you can change to default application for xml to notepad or something to be able to edit the file.

no, you don't have to place it. only subbed and enabled is necessary. on every game load it will check all your assets and see and add the stuff it does not know about to the file that you can edit.

just have to ask because the instructions don't specify.
but it says i need to load a save once.
does that mean that this mod can only change the settings of buildings that have already been placed? or is that just to get the "asset list" and will it be changed for any new building i place down aswel?

because if i need to place each building first. then i have no use for this mod.

Not sure what is wrong in my settings, but when I go to open manually it opens in Edge, so I can't edit the file. Any one know how to sort it

Just wanted to pop back in and say, this worked perfectly! I decided to manually edit the radii for education, police, fire, and healthcare. I left their strength values at default. I made modest increases ranging from 300 - 1000 on most assets as some of the workshop items were appropriate at default. This made the average for elementary schools at 1200 - 1500, high schools 1500 - 2000, universities 2000 - 3000. The rest of the services fall within these same ranges aside from major hospitals which I decided to increase to 4000 - 5000 (none of which are currently in this city.) Below I attached a link to a screen shot that shows the land value after adjustments were made. I wish I had the forethought to take a before screen shot but I don't feel like disabling the mod to get that. Just know there was a lot more blue and even nearly white sections between housing developments.

Thank you for the clarification. Thumbs simply just for the speedy reply. I think I'm going to give this a try. My network experiment has done wonders for my traffic flow. But it is playing hell on land value via service range and impact. This seems like just what I need to balance it to where it makes sense.

It affects all service buildings you changed (the mod does not do anything by itself), also the ones from the workshop as long as they use the BuildingAIs that come with the game (most likely).

What i mean with "All Values you change are reevaluated after a short period of time." is the following:
If you set all radius values to 0 for example, after a few seconds you should see all non service buildings complaining about too low land value for example. if you wait a few minutes they should all become abandoned. if you then reset the values and let the simulation run for an hour or so ... you should be back to where you started. you can just go bankrupt in the meantime ;)

Perhaps my reading comprehension isn't a swift as I thought. What exactly do you mean by "All Values you change are reevaluated after a short period of time."

Also, you state this mod affects all default service buildings. Does it also affect service assets I am currently running?

see Caution! section. my advice: enable unlimited money mod, put the game on fastest speed and just wait until you are back to normal. you will get there eventually.

i disabled this mod on a save I have and it completely ruined my city, mass low land value causing me to loose all money and 90% of buildings abandoned

It might be a good addition to the mod to have an in game display of the currently applied modifiers? Something inconspicuous like a button on the unified ui mod?

Is this functioning on 1.16.0-f3? If so, you might put a big beautiful notice somewhere up top =). (unless I missed it!). Im guessing a lot of people are hesitant to download mods unless they know what versions of the game it is compatible with. Thanks for the mod!

Currently I have to manually tell the mod which AI's it should be interested in and it will find all the buildings for that AI's which is the reason mod assets work (if AI is supported) but new dlc stuff does not. That is something that could be improved.

I have a question about buildings like the public library. It has both a like street distance radius, and a area of effect circle? For instance a police station only has a street distant radius that increases happiness, while a park has a area of effect circle. When you place them down you get a wave of green smiley faces and if you move or destroy them you get a bunch of red frowning faces.

The mod seems to increase the library's street distance radius, but doesn't seem to increase the happiness circle from the library? Where it doesn't increase the circle that gives you the happiness indicators. So is the library not benefiting from the mod?

Is service value and happiness bonus 2 different things? I also notice things like the Zoo Main Gate from Park Life only has a happiness area of effect and its not included in the mod, which is why I assume they are 2 different things. If they are could you include the happiness radius to the mod also?

@egi never mind, I found the issue.

I had to unsubscribe, and manually delete the .dll file in the steam mods folder and the xml in the apps/local folder. For some reason steam didn't update the .dll file despite saying it downloaded the update even though I unsubscribed and resubscribed multiple times.

@egi can you explain to me how the mod detects buildings? Cause I find it weird that the mod can auto detect assets added by mods, but for some reason it keeps failing to the pedestrian area plazas from P&P dlc. I am still missing the "Small Food Truck Plaza", "Small Fountain Plaza", "Small Glass Roof Plaza", "Large Food Truck Plaza", "Flower Plaza", "Large Fountain Plaza", "Large Glass Roof Plaza".

The only ones that are showing up is the "Small Ice Cream Stand Plaza", "Large Ice Cream Stand Plaza" from P&P dlc.

Also noticed its failing to detect stuff from DLCs in general like Park life, Snowfall, etc...

@egi the update kinda worked and didn't work... for instance Ice Cream Plazas showed up but the Food Track Plazas don't, Statue Plaza, Fountain Plazas etc are still missing.

@egi can you please update the mod? It seems some buildings aren't being detected and added to the file.

For instance I noticed the Pedestrian Area Buildings aren't being detected. Like the Small Food Truck Plaza, Small Ice Cream Stand Plaza,etc.

I looked for them manually, and also did a CTRL + F search for them in notepad++ and they simply don't exist.

@Musharaf correct, no changes are saved into the savegame. The settings on the mod are applied each time a save loads. So if you unsub it, everything is back to default.

@Musharaf I know this is super late, but in case you still need an answer. You can just go into the option menu and just set the multiplier to 1 which will restore everything back to default.
