Description
Important Information

I apologize that I have been absent for the better part of two-three years, and I feel like you all deserve an answer as to why. Due to unforeseen family issues including the death of my father, my mental health took a serious decline due to my bipolar. While I am sorry that I haven't worked on Customize It Extended, I currently have no plans to return to CS at this time due to other works and focusing on getting myself sorted. As everyone knows, the source is still available and anyone is welcome to fork it and keep it going. If anyone does this, please let me know so that I can update this description with the link to it.

While I have no intentions of updating it myself, people are more than welcome to add me on Steam for help in updating it themselves. While I can't guarantee speedy replies, I will do my best to reply to requests for help within 48 hours.

Customize It! Extended

What originally started as a simple update to the original Customize It! Mod. Customize It Extended has become more. It now allows you to view and edit properties on Buildings, Vehicles and Citizens.

When you click on a Building/Vehicle/Citizen, a new button will appear that will allow you to change these properties, following the notes below.

There is no need to reload, the editable values can be altered directly in-game, and take immediate effect.

Properties are saved to XML for easy viewing and editing. (Location - Local App Data/Colossal Order/Cities_Skylines/CustomizeIt-Extended.xml)

Changed
  • UI - The Customize It Extended Panel will no longer close on selecting a different building or vehicle. This has been implemented in order to accomodate the selection features above.


Buildings Note

- Only Buildings that inherit from the PlayerBuildingAI can be changed. This means ploppables, not growables.
- All copies of the same building share the same properties. If you have a park called "UK Police Department" and you plop it 10 times in your city, changes to any of the 10 buildings will also apply to the others.
- Certain properties cannot be set to 0. If it changes to 1 afterwards, it's one of those properties.


Vehicle Note

When you alter one vehicle, it will change all vehicles of that type. So change one ambulance, you change all ambulances.

- All Properties on Vehicles are experimental, I haven't found out what everything does yet, so take care when using them.

Citizen Note

The only editable property of the Citizen right now is the Job Title. All other fields are for information only.

Important Note

While the Original Customize It! Mod is thoroughly tested, it still remains experimental. This is mainly because I haven't dug into all the fields, and crazy changes may affect gameplay. If something has a value of 750, you probably shouldn't change it to 7.5 million.


Compatibility

Customize It! Original

Customize It! Extended is semi-backwards compatible with the original Customize It! Mod. If you used the `Save Per City` option in the original mod. You will have to reset all your properties with this one, after enabling the same option. If you didn't use this option, you can simply hit the `Import Old Settings` button in the settings menu.

Note - This has to be done from the Main Menu.

Rebalanced Industries

Rebalanced Industries alters some of the industry building values dynamically. To avoid compatibility issues, if R.I is detected, Customize It! Extended disables those values from being altered. Your settings file will show the value as being 0. This is normal, and it simply won't load those values. This can be overridden in the Options Menu, but it is experimental, and may require you to reset all your rates.

Disabled Values:
  • Input Rates 1 through 4
  • Output Rate
  • Output Vehicle Count
  • Extract Rate
  • Extract Radius
  • Truck Count

If there are any other values altered by Rebalanced Industries or any other mod, please let me know. I want as much compatibility as possible.

Advanced Vehicle Options

Advanced Vehicle Options V1.9 now alters some of the same values as Customize It Extended. To avoid issues, if AVO is detected, Customize It Extended disables those
values from being altered. To re-enable Customize It Extended values, toggle the option in the Options Menu.

  • Max Speed
  • Braking
  • Acceleration
  • Turning
  • Springs
  • Dampers
  • Lean Multiplier
  • Nod Multiplier
  • Use Color Variations

There currently isn't any translations whatsoever, if you wish to provide one. Please message me.


Installation

- Unsubscribe from original Customize It! Mod if subscribed.
- Subscribe to this mod.
- Enable Mod and select desired settings.



This mod now uses the Harmony Patching Library, but shouldn't effect any savegame.

I express my condolences for the loss of your father. Five years ago, I almost drowned and my father's mother died back to back, and it broke him enough that he now takes medicine for it. I agree with 756's statement, but I can understand how it broke you.

why does this not work for any of the building that have jobs. like chimerical buildings, office buildings or industrial... that would be fantastic if this worked for ALL BUILDINGS.....why doesnt it ????

I have a seemingly unique issue. I've edited the turning speed to 1, acceleration to 2, and the top speed to 30 just to help get traffic flowing faster. I have a problem where my vehicles seem to come up to a building, get confused about something and begin to violently shake forwards and back in the middle of the road for all eternity. If anyone else has experienced this, can you let me know which setting I need to adjust to fix it?

I've messed with all three settings individually but can't seem to totally isolate the problem without spending an hour or two doing it.

Anyone having issues with this mod, try the following:

1) Unsubscribe from the mod and resubscribe to see if that resolves your issue(s).

2) Subscribe to the Skyve mod, then...
- - - check its built-in compatibility report, which also identifies broken or outdated mods and suggests replacements for you.
- - - resolve all conflicts and select proper replacements

3) If you're getting errors or crashes, share a link to your game log.

If the above still doesn't resolve your issue(s), please share a link to the LogReport.zip that's generated by the Skyve mod for someone to review.
