I have mods that incorporate new weapon and armor colors. For some reason this mod seems to...unleash them? So now every new recruit shows up as a technicolor clown for some reason

This is designed for the original XCOM 2 game as was released on February 2016: this will crash with the War of the Chosen expansion pack installed and active.

Oh nevermind, that's unavoidable I guess. The vanilla ones don't have one either, so you can't really tell them apart.

Thx, it's just to allow faces from Destroyer's pack in chargen and to use the gender/tattoo/scar stuff, only copying a tiny bit of XGCharacterGenerator (most of it replaced with super calls). Just need to wait for an extra USB stick for my laptop so I can install the 100 GB SDK.

PS. any chance of gender/tattoo/scar chance going to to into Highlander? Also Destroyer's face pack shows a small problem in Highlander ... it allows cosmetics with empty DLC name to avoid the likelihood sliders.

I dont know yet how to cope with this problem except for accepting how it is (bad choice) or choose only that armors for soldiers that don't funk up at that particullar one (slightly less bad choice, still bad one).
Any ideas what to do?

Hello there, Reality Machina. Thx for many awesome mods. Anyway - I decided to install aliens hybrids + mass effect races just recently. So I subscribed mod here to prevent armor changes for my human forces + some of Your mods needs this one. The problem is that with Predator/Spider armors my props locks at some aliens props for most of my squads. I am playing Long War, and I added cosmetics for Tracer, Garrus, Wrex a little bit earlier and it was working ok. They made some new recruits to have bad legs/torso (body parts from this cosmetic mods) yet it was possible to change it back to human. And now when I put armor for any of my soldiers than this one blocks the props. What is strange - it looks random. I mean - one soldier can have this bug on spider, but not predator, other on both, another only on predator. it fucks up a little bit.

As Blaze said, i miss this in wotc, changing to a new loadout armour and watching a dogs breakfast of random missmatching body parts in the highlight animation is immersion breaking++

The soldiers who was generated with this mod always get same kind template...and the color they got always too....."bright"....looks not so natural....Could I get some config to this, let the random generator works more like the vanilla game?

I must confess disappointment at that. It's actually a useful tweak even now; as it stands, if you have cosmetic mods for the body, like the recently uploaded Halo Spartan armors, your soldiers would randomly select from ANY available armor part when you upgrade from kevlar to plated, etc. Including mods, and the results frequently clash pretty badly. This mod forced them to go to default pieces when that armor upgrade happens, instead; vastly preferable. Even if it takes certain characters out of "their" outfits, at least it's not mismatched pieces from different mods.

Probably not, the main function I made this for seems to be redundant with some backend changes War of the Chosen did.

Hello, This mod was working perfectly until I (stupidly) installed the resistance warriors pack. Rubbish DLC anyway. Now random aliens on humans (new ones) and on new armour having problems with male Turian, Krogan and Quarian. For some reason females seem unaffected (as far as I know) tried unsubing and re-subbing didnt work. Am I finished until the new DLC starts and people mod for that? I apologise if I have missed something down the comments. DONT INSTALL RESISTANCE WARRIOIRS everyone reading this.

This error is happening Wraith Armor and Powered armor as well - and some of my soldiers are appearing without ANY props allowed to be set when wearing anything other than the base Kevlar. Is there any solution to this problem?

Any chance you could make something like this that attempts to keep the same customization on a soldier when changing armors, if the customization is available on the new armor? So modded customization doesn't have to be entirely redone every time I upgrade my armor?

Writing to report the same issue as Mercenary now happening with Spider Armor as well as Predator. Long War 2 plus your LW2 support mods are installed. I'm juggling mods, and will report back ASAP.

Okay. Just tested it out. No go. Now its swapping out the person's armor for geth prop pieces and locking them in there. I change them to kevlar, its fine. The vanilla armor props. Change them back to Predator, They look like a terrifying human/Legion Hybrid.

I even tried changing it to Predator while they are wearing the Predator armor. Still no change.

Already unsubbed and subbed. Maybe unsub and resub the entire mod series?

Honestly as a hail mary I would suggest just unsubscribing and resubscribing to refresh steam.

Because I *know* I have this function added, and I'm using the version I got from subscribing to steam so it should be in there...

Argh. Every time I've gotten that issue on my end re-equipping the same armour (that is, Predator to Predator) always fixed it.

Did Steam just forget to update everybody when I put that functionality into the mod?

Okay. Got it.

Yeah it looks like if I replace the armor with Kevlar it goes back to the normal armor. But if I replace it with Predator it switches to Turian armor and locks it there.

Added Mod and started a new campaign so I dont think that's a factor.

And now its crashing when I try to load the save game. haha.

Oh well I'll start a new game and console it in.

Some weird stuff happens when I upgraded from Kevlar to Predator. Humans became Turians, Quarians got equipped with Asari torsos, etc.

Seems like the upgrade randomized all my soldier's props. And the unfortunate part is that I cant get them to switch back as the props appear to be locked to species(which make sense).

Dunno if you can fix that or if that's just something that happens.

I did some additional fiddling, and after disabling this mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=764410987&searchtext=playable+aliens , I was able to see the skins again. It's too bad because I like being able to hire and earn aliens as mission rewards, but those aliens become less enticing when they all look the same. Hope this mod gets updated soon. Keep up the great work RealityMachina!

So I am not sure if the problem I'm having can be traced to this mod, but I am using the Playable Aliens mod (LW2 version) along with the Allies Unknown addition. For some reason, the option to change skins is unavailable. I can't even change the gender at all, which might be part of the issue (I believe the aliens need to be locked to female?). Any advice for me to fix my issue? I want to paint my Chryssalids. :steammocking:

it's not really working for me either, so for now i'm getting huge help from uniforms mod :) i've made few versions, like heavy armored soldier, scout, sniper etc.. and if i get cosmetic issues i just appy desired uniform :) hope it helps you guys.

@Xiz: probably doing that cause the Skin Selector for playable aliens requires they be female for it to remain stable, probably why it's incompatible with that for now.

Is there a way to just show psi stat for other classes?
I want to change the game to see psi stat for certain classes but I don't want any of the cosmetic stuff that this mod changes that causes miscellaneous crashes and glitches.

@Yellow, reason why that happens is it's treating like they have no gender due to recent changes. what we need is it specifically set so Playable Aliens can't show up as anything other tham female, as that's what keeps the skins stable.
