oh, and bit more detailed changes are at the crafting part with quality effects and some stone/metal attributes, like flammability

hi sulus, if you're willing, I can send you my mod, it causes errors on use, so I have made some mistakes, but I want my mod to happen, all the changes I've made are just number swappings technically (the bigest changes are - other than structures - are the power generators and smithing relevant workbenches, tried to give them geat generation, like the smelter has)
if you give me an E-mail, I'll send you my files - I copied whole sections, but put an x in front of the modified document's names, so it's easy to recognize and compare to original versions.

for the mod itself, I'm plannig to make it only by changing the already existing stuff, not adding a single material, maybe modifying some base structures cost mechanics, like metal strengthened walls made of mainly stone instead of stone walls, making stone and wood the main building materials, but I've started an open post about it with more details

yes
(also I can't find the option to write private messages, where should I look for it?)

hey, you probably should write me over the ludeon forums pm for longer messages ;)

from what i understand u want to make production/building/crafting more realistic?

for an crafting/building/production overall there is a mod called superior crafting and even a wip version for a17. it focuses not that much on realism like u plan, but aims to make crafting much more complex.

in general i would try to start out small. the new patchoperations are really good to add/change simple values in production/building etc. look at mods that add new material for help and jsut start adding one thing. its good to have an overall end goal, but making a mod is a lot of work. so small steps.

the whole thing spinns down into the trader's stone selling, worth of stoneblocks(brick units), how much should a brik's mass be (I've started with 19 kg solid bricks, then turnd to porous one with 9 kg, that looks much better, but the density of metal makes it a bit more complicated to how to calcualte metal units, since even as the porous brick unit, it is more than 20 kg in comparision, but I might go over 50% of it being pores, so with like 60-70% of it being pores, it would be 'only' around 10-15 kg, so it can be used as a unit to craft a sword, still might be a bit too much for knifes, but creating multiple ones is still an option, like with wasted materials, you create like 3 knifes and that's not too much. Weapons cost will be weighted more towards work ammount
or it is possible, to cut out full metal walls and use metal as a strengthening material, so metal units can be smaller and stone and wood being the main building materials..

hi, sulusdacor, I'm trying to make a mod, that focuses on a 'realisation' in the crafting, building and production system, to make walls cost much more both work and material wise, to 'make sense', since you are creating steel autodoors fro 115 steel and a whole wall for just 5 steel, and it seems realy, realy weird for me, same goes for creating a single sword and a lot of stuff, but the whole thing looks like a spiderweb
do you have any suggestions for me?
(I've tried to started to close to the whole thing from the stones part by creating a 'brick unit' as 30x18x14 cm, a wall 'unit' calculated to be 210 cm (7x30) wide and 196(14x14) tall, so the wall costs 98 bricks - also made a thinn wall with 77bricks - the storage for bricks is 6(30)x10(18)x13(14) with 780 bricks being in a terrain unit, now one of the main questions are the crafting system, as how should I handle stone chunks, how much is their value... betveen 1 m3 and 8 m3.
And then how to rework the metal system... etc.
