Does this mod still work on vanilla campaign? I can't seem to recruit any aliens. Is there a requirement that needs to be fulfilled before you can recruit them?

@Lyserus The WOTC version of Playable Aliens has built-in native support for the WOTC version of Allies Unknonw. You SHOULD NOT use this patch with them.

Just tested that this actually works with WOTC (you will of course need the WOTC version of Playable Aliens and Allies Unknown), it contains the four alien types from Playable Aliens, and they do have a chance to spawn in either non-human recruit pool or grey market, but doesn't seem to be guarantee

i have the viper, not have there viper class, first time i saw one it was working. did a new load and the viper was a sapper, then a marksmen. the other aliens are fine. can anyone help.

I'm on Vanilla. And for some reasons I cannot recruit or find any of the aliens on a VIP mission. I cannot create an alien on the pool either.

Alien soldiers can't seem to pick up loot (presumably the code is set up this way so that enemy aliens don't pick it up). Or is this just me?

Most of the aliens come with the default 'Advent' flag but some that are recruited via VIP missions comes with a country flag. There's no way to change the country flag in the customization options. Anyway to standardize this?

@juskom95 Thanks for this tip. I've been trying to figure that out since i've downloaded these mods, and while i hope realitymachina can get around to fixing this little bug, knowing i can just turn the mod on and off till i get the outfit i want helps greatly. Now if you excuse me, I have a beserker queen that needs to be beaten up with a beserker queen :steamhappy:

@RealityMachina Hey. Don't know if you know but there was another mod that brought playable aliens for Vanilla and LW2. The reason I bring them up is because they had problems on the Lost Tower mission. Unable to make them interact with the lifts. I know that you can skip the mission in WOTC but I want to know if that(or just leaving them out of the lost tower) is necessary with this mod

Their weapons start off as beam tier, so the beam schematics seem to be a waste. They literally change nothing, at least so far as I've experienced.

This mod has a custom UI which overwrites the interface for the aliens, this is why the genders are gone. Unfortunately this also disables the outfit change. I am not skilled enough to fix it, but it is caused by this mod.

You can disable this mod, change the outfit and save, the re-enable it but I have not tried that outside of limited testing.

Hello I'll start off by saying that I can't express my gratiude for your work with Allies Unknown and your other work such as EXALT and the Biotic class.

However if you're aware of the Mass Effect Squadmate mods such as Liara Squadmate and the Thressa Update, it would seem that the Allies Unknown mod seems to conflict with those in particular as any Asari I make will (seemingly at random) reset apart from their name.

I have thus far not encountered any problems with characters that are Krogan, Turian, Geth, Salarian or Quarian (apart from when their armour is set as Resistance Kelvar but all I need to do is either turn that DLC off or annoyingly put all their parts back on).

I am at a loss to why Asari are the only ones effected by this mod (I've checked by running only the Liara Squadmate and the Thressa Update with Allies Unknown)

Hi, ever since activating Allies Unknown as well as this patch, I cannot access the skin selection anymore. The button simply isn't there when I go into the customization menu.

The interesting part is that if I access a human soldier via the armory menu, then scroll over onto an alien unit via the buttons, the "New Costume" button is there, but remains greyed out with a "not an alien unit" pop up if you mouse over it.

Any ideas what's causing this? Thanks!

according to what Dreamer told me. it's being set on female that keeps the skin set to what it is with the skin selector, but so much as even moving your mouse over male seems to bork it up permanently.

@Arkhangel So to be clear, Mutons, Vipers, and Sectoids work fine, they just need a way to stay female as far as the game is concerned?

Because that should be enough for me to make a proper fix patch.

should help. main reason i was thinking the hard lock is to prevent the skins from having the chance to be unstable in the first place. if you so much as HIGHLIGHT male, it breaks the skin selector. it's somewhat ridiculous.

Well, it's not a hard lock, but in paper mutons, sectoids, and vipers should now be spawning as female only if I made the character generator right.

in fact, actually might be a good idea to maybe hardlock them to female, a'la the Asari mod, and just remove the option entirely so people can't accidentally choose male and destablize the skins. would cause a lot less headaches

@Reality: well, it sorta works, but a control needs to be put in to hardlock them to female. the skin selector only remains stable with it set that way. if there's no assigned gender, it flip-flops constantly through all options, and it stays unassigned even if you try to reset it. honestly the best idea would perhaps be a way to hardlock it to female, and then maybe just find a way to have the Skin Selector in the PA mod randomly select one for AU PA recruits.

also, the skin selector should show up under "character info" as a little box under the window, if you have the stuff up yourself. it hasn't been showing up for me at all.

In a Long War context, would it make sense for these troops to boast infiltration speed, and/or have lower concealment reveal ranges than normal, human, troops?

LW2 compatible (as far as we know) PA is up. Whether or not it works with this mod is another matter.

So... Awesome mod, escept I brought a crystalid and a sectoid w me on an evac mission. Neither the crystalid spawns or the psi zombie can't evac, obviously, but the mission end wont trigger until I get all xcom operatives on the shuttle. IDK what to do about it.

I think i found a bug. When you take objective (blacksite via) with an alien operative. It can´t play scene with soldier taking objective. I have got a black screen.

I wrong, not only to character pool but all viper of this mod can't use poison spit, can you fix it please?
