Hey guys, I'm quite a fan of this mod so I've made an unofficial update for it on Github.

I just wanted to say thank you for making this. When combined with shields this makes melee fairly playable. Melee in Vanilla was fairly useless and incredibly hard to skill up without having that annoying message around all the time.

@danlovejoy: Maybe in another mod, but shield restrictions fall outside the scope of Melee Hunting.

i like the idea of removing restrictions, is it possible to remove the personal shield restrictions? id like to have people with short range guns (i.e. shotguns) use shields without the game nagging me

@~Megumii~: I'm still waiting on CCL to update to A15 before I post my mods on the Ludeon forum, because half of them require it, but I've gone ahead and made Melee Hunting available on GitHub: https://github.com/LockdownRW/MeleeHunting/releases

@General Desimatorg: My intention with the mod is to remove restrictions, not add them. You can already prevent your colonists from hunting dangerous predators by simply not designating them for hunting. Those kinds of animals are best handled with a small party of drafted soldiers, not via the hunting system.

@MArse Shouldn't be a problem, I'll look into it. Do you want colonists to be able to hunt even if completely unarmed, or just check if they have a scyther blade?

One thing I noticed: even this mod doesn't allow unarmed colonists to hunt (even if they have scyther blades installed). Could you perhaps change this too? :)

@Axe of Capitalism Alpha 15 limited hunting to ranged weapons only, because the dev felt no one ever hunts with melee unless it's by accident. I disagreed, hence the mod.

Thank you very much for this mod. My Rimworld has been on hold since alpha 15 was released, because of the lack of this feature.
