The updated version eventually became "Sanctum of the Fallen", which has actually been out for around three weeks or so at this point... and I probably should've put that down somewhere.
"The Dark Descent" requires "Apachii's Sky Hair".
On the bright side, it's probably the most common & popular hair mod for the game... but I don't think it's on the Workshop, it's from the Nexus. I included it in the data when first starting the mod, but didn't end up using any of the resources from it; however, that resulted in the Apachii ESM file being permanently linked to the ESP file even though it doesn't really use it. I thought it didn't do that due to the fact I didn't use anything from that mod, but it seems that it does; sorry about not finding this out sooner.
I'll update the description in a couple minutes with a link to the required mod and include a detail about the conflict.

"Archaeologist's Guild V2" seems to be culprit.
Both this mod and that one must modify the same cell, and I guess the other mod adds in a dungeon entrance (which I couldn't find during my quick search of the area); which is exactly what this one does.
I guess I'll start scouting for a different entrance location, and hopefully it's an easy fix. Still, I won't be implementing that fix until the addition of the third wing. Until then, the mod should still work if "Archaeologist's Guild V2" is simply disabled (uncheck it in the load order).

As for Skyrim not starting... sorry, I'm not sure what would cause the issue. That problem usually means there's a mod conflict, but I have no idea where it originates; I'll keep an eye out for potential causes, but I can't offer any guarantees at the moment.
are there any mod requirements btw?
