The Dark Descent

Description
***NOTICE***
This mod is currently being reworked, and will be taken down once the new version is finished; it will also be renamed. The final version will have a total NINE bosses, up from the two currently implemented. Seven will be named after the "Seven Deadly Sins" which most should know of, all under the monkier of "Aspect of <Insert Sin Here>". Upon Slaying a minimum of four of these (first two are mandatory, the next two will be choices of two), the seventh will unlock, who guards the way to the final boss of the dungeon. For those who slay all seven sins and the final boss (and take their respective keys), a "bonus boss" will be made available for those seeking an extra challenge.

I'll keep this mod up for the time being, just so I'm not keeping people out.

A dungeon for high-level players seeking a new challenge, "The Dark Descent" is meant to provide a decidedly different experience -- Boss Encounters!

The location is east of Markarth along the river, located right beside one of the bridges; Reachwater Rock is quite close to the entrance. See the images for the location on the map.

The layout is that of a pseudo-hub, with multiple wings leading back to the entrance; with each wing completed, you'll have the keys needed to progressing through to the next one. The current plan is for each wing to provide a different type of challenge: sometimes you'll face off against few strong foes, other times a horde of weaker ones, and some enemies are meant to be outright avoided. Boss encounters will each have a different setup and premise, you might even get some help from NPCs!

At the moment, only the first wing has been fully implemented; a minimum of two more are planned, and the first room of the second wing is already included in the mod. All the areas are (very) dark at the moment, though brighter locales may included in the future. Nevertheless, you'll bring a torch, candlelight spell, and/or a wearable lantern.

The initial area may be a bit confusing, but the general idea for the hub is that you keep moving straight ahead to get into the next area; that and there should only be one door that will lead you to someplace new, all others will be locked (or lead to nowhere... yet). Also, any unique enemy in the dungeon will have one of the keys needed to progress to the next area.

* First Wing -- The Black Hall *
This wing is something of a remake of "The Abyss", but is actually a bit tamer than it's predecessor. You'll run into a few small hordes on your way down to the hall itself, but nothing too large (actively trying to avoid the NPC overload here that leads to passive foes). The "Mines of Moria" area is fair bit larger, and much more sparsely inhabited; the main thing you'll find are the "Immortal Destroyers"... yeah, running time! Lucky for you, they're not too fast. You also can't go straight ahead to the final area, you'll need some keys from some of the enemies which lurk in here. The second area of this wing features a recreation of the unique boss from "The Abyss", though this version (called the "Aspect of Despair") isn't quite as ridiculously durable. The Aspect of Despair will be removed in the new version (he'll have a "higher purpose" of sorts), replaced by one of the "lesser" sins.

* Second Wing -- The Dark Barracks *
Only the first room here is implemented, the boss will be added later. This is a "horde area" with a lot of weak enemies... or rather, flimsy enemies who may hit reasonably hard. It's a small area with two levels, you want to find the one unique foe for his key to the (currently absent) boss room. The catch? The "Immortal Destroyers" are back, and are just big enough to walk through the narrow halls. This room is (should be) great for anyone in dire need of gold, as the occupants all have a decent sum... and there are a lot of occupants. The boss of the wing is called the "Aspect of Might", and he's a GIANT of a brawler; towering over even the "Aspect of Despair". The twist of his arena is its layout, it's near vertical; you can fight him either face-to-face with ranged attacks, or face-to-toe with melee weapons. You have assistance from NPCs again, but much fewer this time around. In the new version, this boss won't be changed at all (aside from maybe changing the armour) and renamed after a sin.

***New Version Teaser***

* Third Wing-- The Sunken Acropolis *
"The Sunken Acropoilis" is another hub-type area which is unlocked with the key dropped by the (former) Aspect of Might, which has a total of five towers for the player to tackle. This operates in a three-stage system, with the nearest two towers to the initial entrance making up the first stage. Kill one of the two bosses within for the key to access the next stage, which would be the back two towers; killing one of the two in the second stage will unlock the central tower, which holds the seventh aspect of sin and the final boss. The path to the bonus boss is located in a small building behind the central tower, and accessing it will require slaying all seven aspects of sin and the final boss.

@Zeke911
The updated version eventually became "Sanctum of the Fallen", which has actually been out for around three weeks or so at this point... and I probably should've put that down somewhere.
