I tried this with LWotC and it didn't seem to do much. Are these mods compatible?

Fantastic mod!

Just finished a campaign with about 280 mods, this one included, and had no major issues! Thanks for putting this up, opens up a lot of cool possibilities. Love how enemies use it as well.

A good step, but it needs to go further. In the original XCOM, smoke grenades were used to break line of sight. Also, you didn't want to be INSIDE one, because it would cause temporary choking damage. That's the way smoke grenades should have been implemented from the start, not some pink cloud that increase defense.

Love this mod so far, been playing with LW2. Funny thing happened though: went on a mission to stop an ADVENT retaliation strike and rescue civilians, so no concealed deployment. I popped smoke on my first turn, but none of my soldiers gained concealment. Is that a mission- specific thing perhaps?
Prscyse Jul 18, 2019 @ 7:31pm
Could you please make it configurable that units walking into the smoke after the initial blast are also affected?

A variation (Smoke Pellet or something similar maybe) that only smokes one tile and allows the user to conceal would be fun for ninja/Batman purposes. Maybe make them one-time use, just for clutch ninja vanish moments. Might be worth exploring if I decide to try a project myself. I mean, it would just be a pay-per-use Conceal ripoff with visual fx, but having a cost and taking up an inventory slot might be a decent way to balance it. Hmm...

Really enjoying this mod by the way!

i wonder is it possible to make it to where smoke grenades don't break concealment.
B0atsMcG0ats Sep 2, 2018 @ 5:17pm
If the soldier that deploys the smoke is inside the AoE, does it affect them? Or is this what everyone is referring to, and I'm imagining someone trying to gain concealment after tossing smoke from four tiles out.
What's An Airport? Aug 27, 2018 @ 5:45pm
Combines this with Long War support grenider. 8 smokes of concealment. Totally not OP.

How do I make the invisibility effect work on smoke warheads from this mod?

Now my Shinobi can Ninja Vanish.exe :D

The concealment doesn't work for the guy throwing the grenade since the concealment buff is gained before the action is finished. So much for my Smoke then Grapple Batman plan. Other than that, it works really well.

How can I make it so the person who threw the smoke grenade also gains concealment?
Raven Sep 16, 2017 @ 9:21am
fuck yeah !
HandyVac  [author] Sep 16, 2017 @ 7:58am
Can confirm now this still works in WOTC, no changes neccesary. Have updated the title and description.
Temp[ventures].j2 Sep 6, 2017 @ 7:41pm
Still use and love it <3, really helps to reduce clutter or mod that don't merge well.
HandyVac  [author] Sep 3, 2017 @ 4:23pm
Do people still use this mod? I've been using Covert Intrusion instead, which works much better.

Regardless, I intend to update my mods for WOTC after I finish thoroughly polaying it, probably sometime next month.

What Zota??
OotaOTT[RU] May 2, 2017 @ 12:17am
no job out after a fight, After one move ... I'm still testing)

Also, seems like if you smoke multiple people, it's like they all have ?conceal? So getting revealed is on an individual basis

Yeah works fine.. Lol, such a lovely cheat though,, VIP extraction and you've not got a team?? Take your worst rookie with this, throw the smoke for the VIP and try get him to teh extraction, even if the rookie goes down :)
Wintercross Mar 20, 2017 @ 3:23am
I use it in LW2 and it works fine

Can any of you guys asking last week confirm if this works??
HandyVac  [author] Feb 16, 2017 @ 5:20am
I don't play LW2 myself, so have no idea whether this mod is compatible with it or not. It depends whether LW2 changes smoke grenades or not.

I have no plans to update this mod further, but if any other modder wants to use some/all of it's code then feel free to do so.
Zigg Price Feb 16, 2017 @ 3:10am
Is it not compatible with LW2? Did they add a new smoke grenade?
MrCloista Jan 21, 2017 @ 1:48am
Any plans to update this for LW2 compatibility?
TaKo Jan 13, 2017 @ 12:27pm
please add a way for this to keep the soldier who threw the smoke concealed
Arkhangel Nov 27, 2016 @ 10:46am
@Zer0: it's only OP if you want to make it that way. it's kinda a godsend to me, but i'm also playing with Additional Mission Types, The Alien pack and ABA2. Currently have enemy pods of six each.... really not pleasant when one of them is a Gate/Riftkeeper or Sectopod Prime, or, you know.... five Archons and an Andromedon.

Game's only as hard as you choose to make it ;)
Arkhangel Nov 19, 2016 @ 10:41am
@Green Raven: in fairness, it's not entirely OP, as the user is revealed regardless. that and on some of the higher difficulty mods it's considerably less so. try running ABA 2, the LW alien pack and More Mission Types ;) I have and these things are kid of a godsend.
Green Raven Sep 26, 2016 @ 10:52am
Cool idea! Can I suggest an alternate mod? An upgrade that allows smoke to heal your troops as well as providing cover. It makes smoke usefull, but is not as op as providing stealth.
Ethel Sep 21, 2016 @ 10:29pm
Would there be any way to make it so the smoke can also conceal the soldier that threw the grenade (rather than them being instantly revealed due to having thrown a grenade)?
dmc32 Sep 17, 2016 @ 11:16am
HandyVac,

Can you upload this to nexus mods for other platforms and users, great mod I use it here.
HandyVac  [author] Sep 13, 2016 @ 11:59am
Looks like Grenade Rebalance is just ini edits changing stats, so yeah, should be fine.

Let the rest of us know after you've tried it?
Jabel Sep 13, 2016 @ 11:54am
Is this compatible with Grenade Rebalance: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=643166322

Grenade Rebalance page doesn't specify what overwrites it makes.
8feet Aug 25, 2016 @ 9:50pm
Is there an option to have the conceal only last for 1 or a few turns?
sriversage Aug 18, 2016 @ 1:50am
Any ideas for making this mod compatible with the LW dense smoke perk?
Popo Bigles Aug 17, 2016 @ 6:14pm
get combine squad, get them all to be the Combine elites and one regular combine assault
add the Officer mod and the Commando mod
use this mod
deathmechine incoming.
never even saw a thing....
-25 dead aliens later-
gg
-not one soldier died-
LittleSister Aug 17, 2016 @ 1:39am
its funny using this with the same soldier you wanna conceal ... made that mistake the first time xD
Nomad or What Aug 13, 2016 @ 12:14pm
Good idea, I never use smoke grenades because they are largely useless in lieu of using another item. This mod makes them a bit more lucrative on certain missions
Xeraphale Aug 13, 2016 @ 4:10am
Mumia, you could but who ever had six rangers sat around waiting to go at any given moment?
Dreyfus0414 Aug 12, 2016 @ 3:14pm
I think the flashbang double aim penalty mod is good but not op. Stun is crazy
EagleShark Aug 12, 2016 @ 1:34pm
Flashbang disorients and that is good enough IMO, Codexs become powerless when you disorient them
mumia Aug 12, 2016 @ 1:12pm
You could do that by starting the mission with rangers that have concealment anyway,
Xeraphale Aug 12, 2016 @ 10:26am
Doesn't this make retaliations easy though? step 1, throw smoke grenade... step 2 split up and save every civilian with impunity (apart from the occasional faceless, that is)!
mumia Aug 12, 2016 @ 5:55am
Great idea, now we just need a flashbang that not just disorients but stuns enemies for one turn, to worth something.
