Repair Workbench

I should also add that I was able to freely add and remove and replace from my save either winnBleidd fork of this "Repair Workbench" or SteveZero's Repairable Gear and the saves appear to be fine, so you should have the freedom to try them out as you like (incompatible together, but appears to not be a 1-way street sort of mod).

Note to folks! THIS MOD IS OUT OF DATE. The author has not updated it for Rimworld for 2 years. There are two alternatives I would suggest:
- I tried SteveZero's Repairable Gear mod for 30+ hours, which is a repair bench that adds 7 different layers of RNG to the repair process. Its worth checking out, but I found it often frustrating, as I just want to repair my crafted gear that was breaking (SteveZero's does a lot more than this, including reducing quality of gear and has a "if gear is under 12%, you can't repair it"; which is contrary to the point of wanting a repair feature.

- The GwinnBleidd fork of this "Repair Workbench" works for 1.5, and keeps it simple just like this mod did. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3228272471&searchtext=Repair

There quite a few forks of this and Wastelander's mending mod. Sad to see this one go the way of the original.

Repairable Gear mod is a natural successor for anyone that's looking:

Please update

For some reason this mod seems to cause the FPS to drop to 16 FPS, when you pause the repair task it's fine, also the colonist when repairing will do so miles away, they won't go up to and use it as intended.

crafting the repair kit tanks my fps...
miyu01 Aug 1, 2024 @ 1:56pm
1.5 please ;-;
Reeva! Jun 12, 2024 @ 11:10pm
@Dosboy instead of making crematoriums or molotoving your lawn filled with tainted clothes, you actually have a use for them now. Lotta apparel can't be scrapped for resources, so they just take up space, plus you're still putting in the work to repair them all, so I'd say you've earned your money. Treat it like a restoration job.
Dosboy Jun 12, 2024 @ 5:58pm
I just found that mod. Thanks for the suggestion. It works great, but seems very OP as you can take all the tainted clothing, fix it very cheaply and you will have tons of stuff worth a lot of $$$. Really on the fence on it. So, I turned off the option to do tainted clothing and am using the washing machine from dubs bad hygiene to clean the tainted clothes. Seems a bit of a trade off but still is very easy to make a lot of money.
pgames-food Jun 7, 2024 @ 7:15pm
hi have you tried the mending and recycling mod, that might be able to fix it
Dosboy Jun 7, 2024 @ 4:49pm
Can anyone please tell me if this should repair marine and power armor or if I should look for a different mod. I am unable to get it to work on them, simply ignores them. Thank you.
Dosboy Jun 6, 2024 @ 12:55pm
Does this repair marine armor? My pawns seem to be ignoring the marine armor and not repairing it. Have repair kits nearby.
Asatolf May 8, 2024 @ 1:23pm
1.5 please??

Thank you for the fork @GwinnBleidd
GwinnBleidd Apr 20, 2024 @ 9:11pm
It is with a heavy heart I decided to fork and update this mod to 1.5.
Hopefully, the author will update this mod so I can remove my fork.

Can we get a repair and update for this mod to work with 1.5? <3

This is a pretty useful mod. Will it be getting a 1.5 update? And if it will, is it in development?
LZIM Mar 25, 2024 @ 1:47pm
@EZ8 did you say.. some items should require an Eltex material..
LZIM Mar 25, 2024 @ 1:46pm
who is going to email Ludeon to inspire them to make advanced weapons also break down and require components to fix them... and mending/repair their HP. A mod like this basically makes it necessary to have a gunsmith pawn and organized stockpile of weapons to keep them happy.
EZ8 Mar 24, 2024 @ 10:20am
cant repair prestige marine armor with repair kits for some reason
Гений Mar 17, 2024 @ 10:11am
While recompiling please make it paintable (or while forking)
Rakros Mar 17, 2024 @ 10:07am
It is currently not working for 1.5 But to make it compatible the code just needs to be recompiled. So once the author gets to it, it should be done fast.
General Omen Mar 16, 2024 @ 8:59am
Hoping this goes with 1.5 :D
GeekyBlazer Mar 2, 2024 @ 1:38pm
do until you have x doesnt work. they keep on making them. just keep an eye on them lol
Noah Jan 10, 2024 @ 4:43pm
In my environment, the entire game lags when this bench is running.
Norret Gantier Jan 5, 2024 @ 9:02am
Doesn't work fopr me.
Гений Jan 2, 2024 @ 1:44pm
Hello, is it possible to make bench paintable?
Ciwei Dec 18, 2023 @ 3:23pm
Does this mod work with RimWorld DLCs?
SuperBunnyBun Dec 4, 2023 @ 1:45pm
Robots consistantly start then cancel repairjobs. I bypass this to require a pawn to do it by making the block in front of the repair bench unaccessable for the fabricator bots
Feynman Nov 21, 2023 @ 11:52am
Possible bug: Pawns not interrupting their repair work for other needs until item reaches 100%.
Reeva! Sep 11, 2023 @ 8:07pm
Never understood why this wasn't part of the main game. Weapons don't take durability damage unless they deteriorate outdoors. Clothing starts rotting off your skin from the moment you first equip them. Nothing can be done either way. Seems no one bothered to actually maintain their gear, the only way is to make more, and more, and more... Rather annoying when you use Gallatross pelts for clothing, or Thrumbo fur. The entire Parka you made disintegrates faster than grass grows, without ever getting into combat.

Fabricors can't repair items regardless of repair resource type and will just hog the workbench spamming the resources on and off it, for a temporary workaround just let a colonist do the work and leave the repair workbench outside of the Fabricor's work zone
Sky May 12, 2023 @ 12:50pm
it sends an error if a fabricor tries to repair an item
ArthurTrader May 1, 2023 @ 8:27am
1.3

TheRandomFox Mar 25, 2023 @ 1:02am
@Armageddontoday Repair kits are supposed to come from the machining table
VilDenB Mar 22, 2023 @ 5:40am
Dont mind my prev. comment. I now read the description (always my last step) and when I made some more repairkits I was able to repair my siegebreaker stuff aswell. Dont laugh, pls.
VilDenB Mar 22, 2023 @ 5:37am
I was pulling my hair trying to figure out why my pawns didnt repair my armor. Came to the conclusion that it was a Siegebreaker Armor (from mod). But I can repair my vanilla gear just fine (after uninstalling mend and recycle). Hope this helps someone out there! :steamthumbsup:
Armageddontoday Mar 10, 2023 @ 12:12am
can't craft repair kits anywhere o_O
finished research, built repair workbench, but can't craft kits;
checked (don't have option of making any):
- crafting spot;
- smithy;
- fabrication bench;
- snelter;
- machining table;
but storage have them in list of items

This mod is a very gooooooooooooood mod. But it is incompatible with the mod named {LINK REMOVED}.
Lost Paw Jan 6, 2023 @ 8:06pm
I can't seem to repair any armor, I double checked it was set to for that durability, type, had repair kits and within range.
Jboy9786 Dec 29, 2022 @ 11:38pm
i don't know if this is a bug on the Biotech DLC's side or the repair workbench's side
just want to put it out there, if you bill a repair apparel or weapon, and you have fabricors they will try to bring the apparel and repair kit to the bench, the problem is that before they can repair it a lifter would have carried it away and this creates an infinite feedback loop, or the fabricor will just stare at the apparel and repair kit and nothing will happen,some random lifter would snag it and create an infinite loop, but when a colonistsdoes the repair it doesn't happen
Patient Dec 18, 2022 @ 9:33pm
@Liwet you can change a bunch of settings in the mod menu, such as switch between points or percentages, as well as choose how much points or percentage per repair kit
Liwet Dec 18, 2022 @ 8:52pm
5 durability? Not 5%? My Prestige marine armor is at 46/340 or a deficit of 294. Does that mean I need 294 steel/cloth to make 59 repair kits to repair it all?
