Does this replace Cutebound's Avians?

@teamheart80 what birds do you know of with claw hands? Claw hands make me think Gryphons, and those have Lion paws for back feet.
Dekario Mar 12, 2023 @ 12:54pm
Is this compatible with arm wings? and also, if I use the black beak and feet mod, will it turn the hands black too?
Teamheart80 May 10, 2022 @ 4:20pm
avians cant fly, so in my opinion claws are fine
vizore Jan 20, 2022 @ 11:28am
feather hands make more scence cause what are they flying with?
Falcon Jan 23, 2021 @ 10:59am
This is much better. Good job lad.
MegaMato Jun 12, 2020 @ 3:55am
I can never decide which I like better. Claw hands or feather hands.

I like this mod a lot, but I'd love it even more if there was a way to remove the white patch over the torso.

@NerdCuddles the problem is that the beaks are rendered the same way as hats (I might be wrong with the technicalities), and you can fix that with the "hat mask fixes" mod.

This mod sure does add realism.
NerdCuddles Apr 17, 2019 @ 1:54pm
Theres this bug im dealing with where the avians dont have beaks (I downloaded this trying to fix the issue but it did not fix it, My friend is also having it and i think its due to a mod in my modpack but theres no mods changing the avian sprites)
Trinity Nov 24, 2018 @ 12:28pm
Can you give me the spritesheet (with feather-colour-coded wings) (i also only need the drumsticks)?

Sorry my english was pretty trash last night (and today too, lol)
What i meant to say is: There should be one or more mods already. In fact, Biologically Correct Torsos by charity236 does exactly that, adds tail feathers and changes the avian chest.

I'll check later if there is a similar or revival mod of BCT on the workshop (like i said, i believe there is one already), if not i'll upload one later.
Trinity Sep 15, 2018 @ 12:59pm
Well, if there is none, can you revive a version of that?
Kyo21943  [author] Sep 14, 2018 @ 9:39pm
@Sterben I'm think there's one already (if not more)?
I remember seeing once a (very old) mod of Tail Feathers + Biologically Correct Torsos.
Trinity Sep 14, 2018 @ 8:25pm
can you make a version where it's vanilla hands and legs?
Sir David Jul 24, 2018 @ 6:59pm
Thank you a lot, i can not express how thankful i am !

@Sir David
Apologies for taking so long, some IRL shenanigans came up in the weekend and it was harder to edit the Female Sprites than i expected due to mismatching tail heights.

Thanks a lot !
Take all the time you need.

@Sir David
Well you see, *body* character sprites (head sprites are entirely another thing) are divided in 4 files, frontal arm, back arm, female and male body, so, legs sprites are fused into the body sprites, which means i have to manually edit both female and male files, that isn't a problem at all however i've been a bit busy lately. :P

Sure i'll do it, i'll try to have it before the weekend but it ultimately depends on how much spare time i have and if i'm at home/carrying my laptop with me.
Sir David Jul 17, 2018 @ 6:36am
I hope i am not bothering you, but is it possible to have a "Drumsticks + Tail Feathers and Better Avians" but without the feet changed (vanilla feet) ?

I am asking this because the modified feets don't look all that good, being a bit pixelated (There are not enought pixels on the model to begin with, so it suffer a bit from the added details) can you add this version please ?

@ReeceBar
Yes it is completely client-side, thus 100% multiplayer safe.
ReeceyB Dec 24, 2017 @ 2:48pm
Is this clientside?

NO MORE BIRD TIDDIES

Can you make a biologically correct torso only version?
Naii Starwing Aug 7, 2016 @ 9:10am
This doesn't look like it could corrupt my character, as it's only a resprite. I think I'll get this. I'm tired of looking at bird bewbs.
Kyo21943  [author] Aug 1, 2016 @ 1:45pm
@uglybad
Yep, you don't need a new character, and you can uninstall this mod whenever you would like, without any problems.
Capt.Omelette Aug 1, 2016 @ 1:20pm
To be clear, this only changes the sprites and doesn't require a new character, correct?
Kyo21943  [author] Jul 29, 2016 @ 12:58pm
@Shin Majin Correctly. In fact, i currently play with a Male Avian with this mod installed, i haven't ran into any problem yet (or at least, i haven't noticed one... which should mean that there are no problems :P )

So, yeah, you should have no troubles at all! But let me know fi you run into any issues.
Shin Majin Jul 29, 2016 @ 12:56pm
Ah, so if I only plan to play an avian male with no other mods, there should be no trouble?
Kyo21943  [author] Jul 29, 2016 @ 12:51pm
@Shin Majin
They only should be noticeable if you pay too much attention to them.
The issues should be just graphical... for example, if you make a Female Apex wear an Avian Commoner Shirt, because that vanity clothing was modified to fit the "Biological Correct Torsos" changes tha this mod includes, it will look like the Shirt melted into the skin of the Apex or like it's ultra-tight.
On the other hand, some new (or not new) unedited armor/clothing that a Female Avian is wearing, might make her look a little Androgynous (might make her look like a male).

Most issues are female-related as the are changed more than the males due to the removal of their Chest/Breast.

Thankfully, all Avian NPCs wear only clothing/armor that has already been edited to fit the Biologically Correct Torsos look, and most armor/clothing the player can wear don't really remark female breast/chest that much.
Shin Majin Jul 29, 2016 @ 12:37pm
How bad are the sprite issues mentioned here?
Kyo21943  [author] Jul 26, 2016 @ 2:44pm
@harpyeagle You mean the mod folder? (Starbound/mods)?

After 1.0 some changes were made to how mods work, Steam Workshop mods are located in "steamapps/workshop/content/211828" and then the mods ID folders are show (just random assigned numbers), "Better Avians (unofficial)" ID should be "731071519"

Mods installed manually in "Starbound/mods" still work, but ".modpak" mods aren't recognized anymore (only .pak mods or unpacked/loose mod folders in "Starbound/mods" work!)
Orinoco Jul 26, 2016 @ 2:06pm
The mod won't appear in my mods directory after I subscribe, what am I missing here?
ghost Jul 26, 2016 @ 4:03am
thank you!
