so that you can see your own light but not others
any chance you got something like frackin races installed?
last time i checked ages ago that mod gives every race a passive buff/debuff novakids are given a special glow and that overrides this mod.
its been 7 years since i made this. heh I'm not quite gonna jump into frackin disassemble it and figure out how they do it so i can make a patch.
unsure. alls this does is change the light the player emits.
.
i believe some servers can make it so you require a list of mods to join. thats the only time i can imagine ppl would be forced to use it.
If that's the case... sign me up!! :D
if i remember correctly the novakids had a different textfile that gives them a brighter glow.
all the other races use the same text file.
exactly.
While there is a lot of grind, I typically blaze through it, but after that it just plateaus into "keep finding stuff for food" and "here's the same planet over and over again". I would install Frackin' but I play mostly multiplayer and the person I play with has zero interest -- and also it changes a lot more than just planet variety.
The upcoming bounty system is gonna be cool! Would love to also see more interesting random enemy encounters, more unique dungeons, stuff like that. I build dungeons and having them implemented would be really cool.
yeah skyrim mods are pretty sweet.
a bit of "frostfall" for cold/warm
longterm stamina is useful if you want the need for sleep to have a minor impact. it only effects movement speed slightly
"realistic needs and diseases" is great for sleep, eat and drinking needs.
I'm going to level with you...i totally would do that stuff for starbound but since the starbound devs never put catagories into their steamwork shop im not encouraged at all since mods get uploaded into one big massive unorganized pile and are both hard to find and get lost easily.
and i'd rather not even go near their site to post a mod since starbound had a lovely rep for shadowbanning profiles for even the slightest thing.
Ever since 1.0 i feel the games been getting lazier with touch damage and it has a much more unnecessary grind added to it...thats the reason i made 2 mods that reduce the number of matte tool updates needed
Which is exactly what I wanted, thanks! :)
glad you like the mod. :)
and yeah i kinda wish for more survival stuff as well.
I'd totally go for the need to sleep, drink and maintain core body tempature.
I remember in nightly EPP's only protected their element so under a freezing ocean you had to keep swapping out oxygen pack for warm pack to prevent drowning or freezing.
I did make another mod that removes the sound monsters make when they spot you.
so in pitch blackness you won't know if a monster has spotted you until you take damage.
and another one craftable pickaxes or something lets you make a primative one handed torch from coal and wood to hold and create some light around yourself
its decent enough until you make the stick lantern or use alot of torches

exactly!
I remember that feeling of fear and unknown.
when i installed a mod for skyrim that made dungeons and caves pitch black. :)
I've another mod which allows you to craft a primative handheld torch if you don't fancy the flashlight or can't be bothered crafting the handheld lantern
