Hi MrMiyagi, I Just wanted to leave a quick msg about this awesome map. It's been the site of one of my cities that I've tinkered with for years. I've built out just about every available inch of space without eroding the character of the terrain and so I'm moving on to new pastures. Thanks heaps for this and all the other great content you've shared.

It's a free companion software called Create a World - it's free to download on the Sims 3 website. There are 2 versions of the software depending on what version of the game you own:

1.67 version - for if you own the game on a physical disc or the steam version (I don't, but I'm told it works for the Steam version)

1.69 version - if you own and play the game digitally through Origin (i had this version for a bit - it's a long story - but it's also buggy as hell...)

Beautiful map! I don't even have the specs to run Cities: Skylines but I'm inspired to make a map inspired by this one for the Sims 3!

If it's okay, I can suggest a more recent tropical islands by someone else that I think is really nice. There are really talented map makers out there and a bunch of tropical islands at that. .

Just curious. You did try to open this map with no mods, no theme at all, right? Cause that's how it's programmed. If you did, then I'm gonna label this map as broken. I appreciate your help cause that helps us all a lot to know

Totally understand and I'd have the same reaction. That's why I try using the maps first before even publishing them, and prepare so many advise/guide/help images, because I'd feel the same way! We spend all our time on a map so it's the most important thing to get right.
I used to unpublish the maps that caused problems, but that was followed by a lot of complaints from people who liked it and didn't have any problems. I'm gonna make it clearer up top that there are issues with this for some. That second paragraph isn't clear enough. The problem with this isn't with my map, but with an error that Map Themes had been causing at the time of this map's publishing. Updating it won't work, but I'm not sure why. Very frustrating on the creator side of this, too, so at the same time I totally get your frustration, I hope you know I've got the same... for the same reason :D

Yes; I tried to use the custom theme and it causes the map to not load - sorry would you rather I comment over on the them instead? Even loading the map without the theme causes a nice pretty message to pop up saying that the theme is missing.

I'm simply having a whine because I wasted 40 minutes trying to trouble shoot so I could enjoy the map... 40 minutes I could have spent on another bloody map acutually playing.

The only time you will have a problem with this map is if you try to use the OPTIONAL Polynesia theme. If you read below your comment, you'll see whe had a talk about that. SHould work fine if you don't use any mods.

lo Uh, there is NO theme programmed into this map, the mention of Polynesia theme is to answer the most common question which is "what theme are you using in your screenshots". and there is no mod required to use this map nor to use a map theme. It's probably not loading because you have another issue totally unrelated to this map.

I really like your landscaping and theme on this map!! ..and I am still wondering how you manage to make such a lot of maps for us :0 ..and I know how much time it takes to make even one ;-)
...but please ! never stop creating maps !

My own new project will also be a tropic island, and so I'd like to ask for some tipps :-)
1) Your tree planting is very dense - was will all done manually, or did you have a helpful mod?
2) Any tipp where I could get such nice rock/rain forrest textures? :-)

I disabled all my mods and it didn't work. so I enabled them again and it still didn't work. I think the map is broken for me.

That is truly bizarre lorenenick. :( I can't figure out what that could possibly be. Do you have any other mods running?

I tried to use the map with no theme but it said the same thing. So I ignored it and opened the map. During the loading screen it stopped loading when there was no loading screen backround. I disabled steam overlay and it didn't work. so i refreshed the steam files and verified game cache. But it still did not load.

Wow, that is actually the opposite of what should happen! There are all kinds of crazy things going on with theme editor. Try this. Start a new game on this map with just regular default theme (so, say okay to the question). As soon as the city starts, hit pause, then save the game with whatever name you wish, and then log out of the entire game. Restart Cities Skylines, select your new city save, but before you hit "start" on the box that popped up, notice there is a little drop down menu on the lower right. Here you can choose a different theme for that city save, so now pick Miyagi Polynesia II... and I really hope it will work that time. It doesn't always, but sometimes it does. Crazy as I mentioned :D Let me know if that worked

says this when i try to open the map with polynesia map theme 2.0:"The custom map theme used by this map or save is missing. A default map theme will be used insead. Do you wish to preceed?" But when I try to use the polynesia map theme 2.0 on other maps it works. pls help.

Seriously, I love Kaneka music. I love to listen to music that inspires the scene, and while researching for New Caledonia (yeah, I get extreme with the research), I stumbled across Kaneka. The music being produced in New Caledonia is so beautiful and a fun fusion of so many different music types with their unique Melanesian harmonic techniques, but nobody outside of France seems to know it.
If you like Reggae, find Marcus Gad. His Caledonian reggae will blow your mind.

Paradise Reef was much better bcuz it has more differential terrain and it was more challenging to player (sry for my bad english :D)
