Klaus, that's exactly what I'm thinking too. Still an awesome mod, but I think missions are a very integral part of the gameplay for me, and not having them really bugs me when I play this mod.

Removing the missions was honestly a really bad move, they gave directions to players to understand how to play their country, what they could focus on and historical events, their removal makes this play like age of empires than eu4.

I hope you didn't like playing minors or being a trade country because now every country is the same.

hello, first of all i wanna say THANK YOU for this mod,Obsessed would be an understatement, PLEASE do this kind of magic on eu5 when it comes out, if possible with the same concept of longer timeline, possibly including all high middle ages that would be awesome. 3questions. First, i noticed that if i start the mod in 1444 like eu4 simulation speed is much faster. But if i start it before, which i love to do, it's so slow, especially once you conquer a bit. I can never expand more than let's say a byzantium plus hungary as size of a country...doing so makes it super slow, and every first day of the month takes forever to start the new month. is it something you can fix?would be amazing if the game flew much faster and we could actually try a world conquest. Second: can you bring back the mission trees or perhaps even expand them?Third can you upload a super hd map of what you have created on a website? an accessible one with all location and data related to it?

yo ShyGuy13, I went into the mod folder and I can see that most of the missions are still there, how did you do that, that they are there but not being taken into consideration? Why do you still have the missions whilst saying you removed them? It just makes no sense to take them away and with that the fun which most people have with the game...
Got a bit frustrated over the weekend and started to write a mission tree for luxembourg, however the mod doesn't seem to recognize it due to your black magic... what a bummer so I can't even test it

Hello guys,

I don't know if this is the right place for a mod question but nonetheless, here I go.

I started playing Voltaire's Nightmare recently and played in the middle of Germany around Hesse. I conquered a province named Stromberg (province ID 1941) which had a castle as a monument with some trade bonus. This monument is now gone. The same happend with the monument in Weimar (province ID 2851) whose bonus I forgot.
According to Google's AI some monuments may dissappear during the game. Did this happen after the Age of Holy Wars ended or is this a bug?
The monuments don't appear in the .txt files in the mod's folder in the Documents. Does anyone know the way to reintegrate these monuments via changing the mod's .txt files?

@LunatiK I don't recommend making such a submod as it requires a lot of work to make such a submod as the old mission trees would need to get updated to the new mod version and expanded map. I will be doing this along the way anyways for the main mod but since I'm the only coder I can only do it step by step. So it would be more logical to help me porting the old mission trees directly for the main mod than spending time with a wishy-washy submod with outdated missions.

15th-16th century update:
The black death tweak seems worked, but still the east is vastly underpopulated. More importantly, instutions couldnt go there. This is the reason of 3 development middle asia and eastern anatolia. Even north African great powers cant reach public health, still. Novgorod is back like two instutions; mamlukes, almohads and levant area three, and timurids came from, like, stone age - they couldnt reach chivalry in nearly 100 years. In all my previous games Almohads and nomads were scarry brutes but now even a vassal could wipe them from the map. In my new game Alania's armies (basic alania, ten provinces max) is at transoxiana.

How could I tweak it, if I can? I like to play minor, tiny states (beginning at 3th or 4th bookmark) and I cant play like this. All the bullies fly in the wind and some other can establish an empire in 50 years. Like Kiev and eastern Romans.

All unique country mission trees got removed from the mod in the recent update for a number of reasons. They are supposed to get readded step by step if and when they get reworked by me or a volunteer.
Since I'm the only active coder of this mod, I usually prioritize more important things to work on, e.g. all the other things you can read in the changelog. This is why I only managed to rework the generic mission trees and omitted any unique mission trees for the update.

@Harald Hardrada The Black Death disaster was made stronger as players called it too weak. Provinces being lowered to only 3 dev was probably overkill so the next patch will reduce the dev loss.

is black death disaster changed? I cant solve it without waiting 10 years, so I bunkrupted for no gain. In all of my previous games I rushed to instution and quickly solved it but this time even after public health it said I should wait for 10 years.

Also ALL of the world turned 3 development except few cities like milan. I know how much people died in plague but ALL of the world is 3 development now. My new england pirate empire turned to dust in one year but I the real problem is now there is not any important cities. ALL of the cities 3 development and AI is developing them all together so there will be no difference between important centers and others. I dont know how I should feel about this.

I dont understand why you would remove the mission trees. If the dev got fed up with people asking for new ones, just dont add new ones but at least keep the ones already in place...

Today's update did something to the missions interface.
Instead of the wider view with the generic "regional power" and "get 80.000 dudes in your army" type missions on the left and country-specific ones on the right, I now only see the vanilla wideness of the mission interface and the country specific ones are missing.
On the right of the mission interface are now a bunch of buttons that are used for selecting branching missions in vanilla, but (right) clicking them does nothing.

I used the console to complete a mission I know exists for Flanders at the start, namely to own or control Calais, but it does not cause a "missions can be completed" flag to appear at the top of the screen.
I assume that means the mission is not just hidden where I can't see or click on it but missing altogether.

@ShyGuy13 Viborg (denmark) is a coastal desert instead of grassland. and Kuku (North Africa) is jungle instead of desert/hill. Not to mention the trade goods being all wierd too with cotton being in sweden.
