fairly a wide region though, the map is flexible for future updates to include the rest of relevant europe by 2030 in addons

@tk9 No, the EU5 version of VN will only cover the HRE.

Hi developers, first of all i want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the best game i've ever played, since i discovered your mod i haven't played one single other game ever. I've read you're developing the eu5 version, but is it true it will only be the holy roman empire area once again like years ago? please, please, please, include the whole europe and mediterranean! no need for persia or far away steppes if it's too much, but at least the whole europe and med. I'm literally buying eu5 only to play your mod europe-focused, and i believe others will do too. If you were a stand-alone game, i'd just buy yours ahah. Please allow us europeans to immerse fully in our history and small locations, and not just one part (it would be amazing if you could expand the timeline from fall of rome or before too! i know you can blow our minds this time like never before!)

@Koffeekkii Doesn't matter albeit some events might only trigger for Austria.
Brova Oct 21 @ 11:26am
Can we donate to support the project?
Koffeekkii Oct 19 @ 3:03pm
Heyy, to play as the Habsburgs should i play as Styria or Austria (with the intention of forming the HRE or Germany)?
ShyGuy13  [author] Oct 19 @ 10:33am
@emreunalir No.
ShyGuy13  [author] Oct 19 @ 10:31am
@Justinian III Yes, development for this is finished and we'll move to eu5 on release date.
ShyGuy13  [author] Oct 19 @ 10:30am
@atlamitralyöze_ Mission trees will only be added if people contribute them.
emreunalir Oct 19 @ 8:49am
The Persian expansion is truly beyond the quality I expected. However, I noticed the absence of the Kashgais. I only checked in 1815. Do you plan to add them later?
Justinian III Oct 19 @ 2:30am
plans for eu5?
atlamitralyöze_ Oct 18 @ 9:49pm
pecheneg focus tree?
Big Baby Chips Oct 14 @ 12:58am
I remember back when the map was just the HRE...

@Goran There is no event for Brandenburg to get the Hohenzoller dynasty but forming Prussia doesn't require the Hohenzollers.
Goran Oct 9 @ 12:50pm
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to start in 1057 and still form Prussia as Hohenzollern Brandenburg? In 1057 the Hohenzollern dynasty exists in southern Germany and the lands of Brandenburg are still in slavic hands. What would I need to do to form Brandenburg first and later to get the Hohenzollerns upo to the north. Is there any event that lets me get Brandenburg while starting as Hohenzollerns in 1057?
ShyGuy13  [author] Oct 3 @ 5:49am
@Swaglordkiki No, missions can be included in the main mod if someone makes one.
Swaglordkiki Oct 2 @ 5:41pm
given the removal of mission trees, are there any compatible mission tree mods that one can use with this?
Cookie95 Sep 27 @ 2:11pm
Ok, thanks for replying.

Just fyi, the new plague event ["vn_plagues.3"] (-35% dev on one province, -15% dev on every other province within the area) keeps happening VERY frequently, even after the black death is over. I assume that's intentional.

If you like it, I respect that, but I've had to nerf it within the game files. Losing ~25 dev from a random event when each dev costs on average 100+ points is easily a total loss of 2500 to 3000 adm/dip/mil points, and it happens once every few decades. I'd suggest it's a bad idea.

But overall, I'm not knocking the mod. It's still great.
ShyGuy13  [author] Sep 27 @ 6:38am
@Cookie95 The now high value is intentional as it reduces power creep from highly developed provinces.
Cookie95 Sep 27 @ 6:31am
Hi ShyGuy, was the bug fix the thing that made developing provinces vastly more expensive? If so, it's gone from extremely low (before the fix) to extremely high (now). Was that deliberate? Perhaps something in the middle?

Thanks for all the work on this great mod!
ShyGuy13  [author] Sep 27 @ 2:01am
@Druznia Just a bug fixed in today's patch
Nexaway Sep 26 @ 8:30am
12th gen i7 2.3 GHz, 3050 (4 Gb VRAM), 16 Gb RAM, would this run or is there too many provinces?
Druznia Sep 26 @ 2:47am
Did u decrease the cost of development? Like I can easily dev my mountain terrain with 20 mana point cost.
[Btw the best EU4 mod ever. I didn't play once vanilla since ever played this one]
ShyGuy13  [author] Sep 20 @ 1:13pm
Big new update just dropped today, coming with many bugfixes, QoL improvements and performance improvements.
Saftschluerfer Sep 16 @ 1:10am
i basically fixed my problem by adding the special units back through another mod
ShyGuy13  [author] Sep 14 @ 6:53pm
@MaD This is also a reason which is why I removed them for the next update.
MaD Sep 14 @ 6:48pm
@ShyGuy13 I think its mostly from the claims that come with it, "get a claim every neighboring province/area"
ShyGuy13  [author] Sep 11 @ 9:52am
@MaD These things happening is not caused by the removal of mission trees, it's simplly the current balancing in the mod that needs to be adjusted to make these things happen less often.
niklasjpo Sep 9 @ 11:04am
I also miss the unique mission trees. They added so much flavour to the different countries and tags. Still, it’s a fantastic mod. Thank you for all the hard work!
MaD Sep 9 @ 6:26am
Thanks for a great mod, but it seems the new one and only mission tree, makes same nations rise and fall allmost everygame, France & Hungary breaking, and Bohemia and Poland becoming the superpowers and addition to that there arent any Teutonic crusades, because Poland and Novgorod have splitted the area way before, havent seen Sweden take Finland even once... It gets boring. +1 to bringing the old mission trees back or making them better with a high priority
SimplyFilms Sep 8 @ 5:09am
Personally I find more joy in general flavor and mechanics than mission trees, though I understand my opinion may be a minority.
Temple Jones Sep 6 @ 7:09pm
Is there any way to commission this Dev team to create a custom mod?
ckmusic614 Sep 4 @ 3:30pm
I like missions but can still have fun without them.
Good work team and thanks for the dedication and time :) Love the mod and appreciate the work!
Saftschluerfer Sep 3 @ 1:32pm
il take a look at it
ShyGuy13  [author] Sep 2 @ 2:52am
@Saftschluerfer You can contribute flavor for Scotland.
Saftschluerfer Sep 2 @ 2:00am
i love this mod, but becoming Scotland was kinda unsatisfying
no new missions as it said and i lost my Gallowglass without gaining new special units
changing ambitions would get be base traditions but i can stay scottish
im staying Alba until i get tech 40 and become british, see if its better

A tree painting simulator with missions is a glorified EUIV map with zero point.
nicholasdevault Aug 31 @ 4:58pm
Hey everyone! I just wanted to announce a brand-new addition to Voltaire's Nightmare - "Voltaire's Nightmare: More Cultures" - a sub-mod that aims to enrich the cultural landscape of the base mod by adding a variety of new cultures to the game, ranging from Kabardian to Limburgish. You should really check it out and give it a try, it would be a fine addition to any Voltaire's Nightmare playset

Mission trees have very low priority during development due to how time-consuming they are to make while adding barely anything to the mod.
@victor.97 Trade goods in colonial provinces aren't completely randomized.
victor.97 Aug 23 @ 9:54am
Best mod for EUIV, amazing work, I've being playing for long ago. I just see two things for achieving the ultimate perfection that this mod deserves. Mission trees (this is well known and expected) and, in my opinion, fixing trade goods on "colonial" provinces because they spawn so randomly. Congratulations!
The_Avrowolf Aug 22 @ 8:33pm
That's pretty sad @VersionZero
tomwushu Devs are slowing readding/reworking mission trees
tomwushu Aug 22 @ 8:30pm
Mission trees won't load, other than vanilla generic ones for any nation. Any ideas?
