I really like this mod and thanks for the working progress. I hope mission trees will be back soon to continue my run with Byzantium :)

Game I had with a friend died; he desyncs every time we load. Super sad, we had advanced so much :(
Viiz Jun 8 @ 1:34pm
Does anyone know if they'll add the missions back in a future update or if the missions are gone for good?
Einherjar Jun 8 @ 10:42am
I dont understand why you would remove the mission trees. If the dev got fed up with people asking for new ones, just dont add new ones but at least keep the ones already in place...
Odryssa Jun 8 @ 1:17am
Hello,

Great update! I was asking for Persia, and here it is :)
Thanks for the great projects too!

However, I'm having a problem with the update: I no longer have access to nation-specific missions. Is this a general bug?
How can I fix it?
Wild Clodsire Jun 7 @ 5:47pm
Most people who play your mod aren't on the discord you NEED to tell everyone else dude.
Wild Clodsire Jun 7 @ 5:45pm
Dev said on the discord that the missing mission trees were intended what the hell!
oqr0z Jun 7 @ 8:24am
the missions are broken
Infi24 Jun 7 @ 6:31am
The mission interface is broken as the guy below said.
Hagenz Jun 7 @ 5:24am
Today's update did something to the missions interface.
Instead of the wider view with the generic "regional power" and "get 80.000 dudes in your army" type missions on the left and country-specific ones on the right, I now only see the vanilla wideness of the mission interface and the country specific ones are missing.
On the right of the mission interface are now a bunch of buttons that are used for selecting branching missions in vanilla, but (right) clicking them does nothing.

I used the console to complete a mission I know exists for Flanders at the start, namely to own or control Calais, but it does not cause a "missions can be completed" flag to appear at the top of the screen.
I assume that means the mission is not just hidden where I can't see or click on it but missing altogether.

@ShyGuy13 Viborg (denmark) is a coastal desert instead of grassland. and Kuku (North Africa) is jungle instead of desert/hill. Not to mention the trade goods being all wierd too with cotton being in sweden.
ShyGuy13  [author] May 12 @ 6:40pm
@Outpost Goblin Seems pretty right.

@Ypulse What's inaccurate about it?
Ypulse Apr 27 @ 5:56am
Historically very inaccurate mod, and performance is terrible too.

First time playing this mod as Leon and the holy orders aren't showing in the state interface. I have all DLCs enabled and I'm playing on version 1.37.2. Can anyone advise? Thanks.

Voltaire's nightmare, pretty good mod. Those who say it run bad. Lies. I have a 1650 and a Ryzen 5 so I would of expected lag. Nope no lag not even in MP. :steamsalty:

I started my first campaign as Naples in 1054 and had a lot of fun unifying southern Italy. However, when I started conquering Africa, I came across a problem - I can't create trade companies there! After some clicking around I figured out that trade nodes in Africa are considered colonial regions and thus you can't create trade companies there, but neither do colonial nations form. Which is a bummer, becuase now I have no way of funneling my trade from there. Normally you can get merchants from trade companies or from colonial nations, but with the way Africa is treated in this mod, none of these options is possible. It makes no sense at all.

Other than that, I really like the mod so far, but this one thing caused a lot of frustration.

There took place a quite mysterious occurrence in a recent run of VN.
Because of several lost wars after 1054, France eventually was dissolved totally. The latter's appanages didn't get indipendent, but finally saw themselves under the power of Bar, a member-state of the HRE, although Bar neither caused the French downfall nor was it the most powerful 'free' Galloroman nation that time.
This leads me to my question: What decides, who succeeds the French kingdom in its role as the feudal overlord of all appanages? Thank you :)

The 'Abolish the Rota System' Rus reform seems bugged -- nations never in the Rus or anywhere near (even Castile in my game got hit) take the permanent -5 estate influence penalty.

I'm not quite sure why some nations do and others don't, might be from their crown land % when it was passed? Definitely not limited as intended anyhow.
Iserloth's Kidney Stones Jan 29 @ 10:54am
Should the end of the "Collapse of the Khaganate" disaster perhaps remove the "Extensive Holdings" modifier? Anecdotal, but I find the invading hordes usually rebound pretty easily because of this, gives them enough money & troops to at least contest their decline. However, removing it might equally kill any chance of them holding onto their territory if the event does trigger.

Just a thought, might give it a try myself & see how it goes.

how do you stay norse as sweden, i cant seem to get rid of the catholic opposition aswell
ShyGuy13  [author] Jan 11 @ 7:54pm
@gero.assion This is in the works.
gero.assion Jan 10 @ 8:35pm
Could you possibly dissolve the "Ancient" culture group and add the single ancient cultures to either their original group, OR the group they've assimilated into?
For example: In my game Lombardy formed (by a nothern italian nation) and culture-converted their provinces to Langobardic. It seems weird that these provinces are neither in the germanic group (original Langobardic), or Italian.
Same for Frankish, Roman and Norse.
ShyGuy13  [author] Jan 10 @ 4:33pm
@Iserloth's Kidney Stones This is again a vanilla bug that is only fixable by Paradox. So better send a bug report to them.
Iserloth's Kidney Stones Jan 10 @ 3:32am
Oh, and one other thing I noticed (again, might be a vanilla issue which I completely understand): it seems the great powers get "stuck" with some events, namely, fragmentation of Poland sees Krakow always remain a great power (even once they've fallen off the top 8), same with Byz/Nicaea after the crusade targetting Constantinople. The great power mapmode says they're both ranked "#0", interestingly.

Super minor issue, only noticed as I went to pay off Krakow's debt (which is easily done via gifts anyhow) but thought I'd mention it in the off chance it's not a base game issue.
Iserloth's Kidney Stones Jan 10 @ 3:21am
Fair enough! Thought there might be a possibility due to the somewhat unique French Appanage system (though I understand you're largely repurposing base-game mechanics).

Thanks again for all the work! I've played VN exclusively since I first loaded it up back in ~2018 -- base game doesn't even come close. We all appreciate your continued work a ton.
ShyGuy13  [author] Jan 5 @ 4:09pm
@Iserloth's Kidney Stones Vanilla bug that isn't fixable for modders. Paradox would have to invest a bit of development time into their AI behavior but they stopped caring about this game years ago.
Iserloth's Kidney Stones Jan 5 @ 4:05pm
Very well might be a bug in the base game, but it seems French vassals won't ever use the "Grant Independence" demand in peace deals, even after they've won the war handily. I'm seeing Flanders have their 7th war of independence against France in 1204, at least 4 I know they've won.

Interestingly, when using the console to switch to them and using "Suggest Demands" in the peace deal, that only fills in money + war reps... 35/100 in war score seems odd. However, non-French vassals have independence wars without issue, seemingly always taking "Grant Independence" when they've won.

Is this a bug in the mod, problem with the base game, or heck, maybe intentional? Just curious, not much of an issue as France will inevitably get big anyhow and annex their territory whether they're vassals or independent all the same.

Love the mod!
ShyGuy13  [author] Jan 2 @ 5:47pm
@Optimus Prime When someone contributes them. All current mission trees will be removed so that everyone has access to only generic missions. Mission trees will be potentially readded from scratch if people contribute them. Nobody in the dev team will make any mission trees themselves.
