@Everyone: Not senshi, but a friend of his who worked a lot on this design with him. Seonjo was picked because he was the ruler of Korea during an interesting time, and while Admiral Yi commanded the Korean navy. Civ leaders dont have to be the civilisation's best ruler, nor do they even have to be one that people liked. Maria the mad leads Portugal, Stalin ran Russia in 4, lots of people love to use the Hitler mod. Seriously people - take a chill pill or something.

Thanks for your interest in Korean history, but many Korean doesn't like king Seonjo very much.
Although the king left some academic and cultural legacy, but he usually considered as poor leader.

Why don't you use 이순신 instead? I know, he wasn't the king/ruler but... Bismarck wasn't the king either, just the chancellor. And who better to use for the "turtle ship korea" than Admiral Yi? A person that is recognised even by gwajlo.

sejong was already OP. once you get the secularism policy the game is pretty much already won with that UB, additional specialist slot is too much impact. dont even get me started on the UA lmao

Why not King Sae Jeong? He is much more respected in the history books, or you could youse General Lee Sunshin since turtle ships are sort of his thing.

I LOVE the mod, but the UA doesn't work for me - when a civ declares war on me, no ships appear. The only mod i have active is the community patch. Any ideas? i would really like to get this working right because its an outstanding mod...thanks so much for making it - the UUs are truly outstanding!

Oof, representing Seonjo? During the Imjin war? Not to offend your hard work, it's brilliant, but I would not like to play the deplorable Seonjo who treated his peasants like shite and ran from the Japanese.
Why not represent someone who represented a real power in Korea at the time. Such as admiral Yi who was a true nationalist and is more respected than most kings in Korea, or some other respectable Korean politician at the time.

My Korean mother-in-law has a negative opinion of King Seonjo since all he did was flee to the city of Uiju (의주) on the border with China. From the history books that I read, the government was ineffectual in dealing with the actual military aspect of the Imjin Invasion and it was the people and local officials that rose up and did their best to combat the Japanese.

Seonjo was the only ruler of Joseon during the Imjin War, there wasn't much else to pick :P

Some people wanted me to change it to Admiral Yi, but that makes no sense to me. Yi was a fantastic admiral for sure, but he never led Korea. It'd be like Horatio Nelson leading Britain.

I was considering a Manchu/Jianzhou civ under Nurhaci, but I'm worried there'd be a Qing overlap, so I'm gonna wait until that mod comes out before deciding anything.

I really like the idea behind the revamped Scholars of the Jade Hall, it sort of gives a Persia-like bonus for science and gives Sejong a reason to invest in golden ages, but I'm not sure that I'm seeing the bonus being applied from GP improvements or the bonus science from specialists. I'm running on a Mac, if that means anything (maybe it's a DLL change?)
