The packfile manager is a fan made tool that lets you edit DB tables in pack files. You can also edit esf files.
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?494248-Pack-File-Manager-2-4-1-Compatability-Features-added
To change the turn per years open the Startpos.esf and edit the campaign_calindar. Change the 4 to 12 to have 12 turns per year.
The name and flag can be easily changed, the territory is difficult due to how many entries there are. Also the start menu entries don't effect the game in any way, it just covers the start menu.
Without all the startpos files I made for Tweak you won't be able to use Bob since its using the vanilla files.
That's very difficult to do using PFM. To change the ownership I have to make a new Startpos using Tweak. This can also make the mod crash if you have a general assigned to this settlement but don't move them somewhere else.
Basically I don't know how to do it this way.
I believe the samurai are available at the higher building levels.
Just conquered the whole map as Ashikaga Takauji and historically made the Ashikaga Shogunate. I really enjoyed this mod! Having the Takauji/ Tadayoshi/ Loyalist influence was pretty neat, although I'm not sure if "Loyalist" was supposed to mean loyal to the old Kamakura Shogunate, or something else. Probably the coolest part of this mod was what's essentially the unit reforms from Heian-to-feudal units (aka RotS to GC units). It's cool seeing the progression from using trash units like RotS naginata levy to using superior units like yari ashigaru, and going from mounted/dismounted samurai from RotS to having a variety of samurai and other units to use. It's a really nice blend of the two campaigns into one. Great job!
One small bug I saw was that the fame metre doesn't work. As I just finished taking the entire map, my fame metre was only a little ways along and said my clan's fame was still "obscure".
I'm unsure if the modding tool will work with anything else. You may be able to get a demo version.
If you want to make a new map I recommend the guide I made:
https://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?600630-How-to-split-a-region
That should be possible but I don't know which DB table you'd need to edit.
I'm sorry to keep asking modding questions, but it's very hard to get answers online for the sorts of things I want to do, and you've been so helpful so far so I would like to ask one more:
In Master of Strategy, there is no cost for agent actions, which I think is a much better way of doing it (so you can level up your agents quicker etc). Is there a way of removing these costs within your mod using PFM?
Try a later version of PFM.
rigimodels / sengoku /
For what is this-??
After changing this entry click off it so the loc file turns red. If it doesn't turn red then PFM thinks nothing has been changed so it won't save any changes. Save the pack file.
Load S2TW and start a new game. If this doesn't work I don't know how to make it work as this is what I did to make these changes.
According to Wikipedia Emperor Go-Murakami was of the Yamato clan. However it's hard to know what clan he belonged to as my sources don't mention it.
I don't really know what else to do, again I don't want to bother you with this any more but it would be really great if you could give me an answer so I can get on with my Emperor role-playing!
Side note: wouldn't the Emperor and Kanenaga be Fujiwara, not Minamoto?
Currently the name of the Emperor is 'Minamoto Go-Murakami-tenno', and what I'd like is for it to be formatted in the same way as Kanenaga, whose full name is 'Minamoto Kanenaga' but whose full title is 'Prince Kanenaga'. In other words, I'd like it to be 'Minamoto Go-Murakami' / 'Emperor Go-Murakami'.
So far, I've gone into Pack File Manager --> 1351_nc.pack --> text --> db --> names.loc
Then I went to names_names_names_fujiwaraGo-Murakami-tenno, and in the localised strings changed the text to 'Emperor Go-Murakami'. This then changed that character's name, but got rid of everyone else's names.
In the folder this file was in.
Try exporting the file and editing it in notepad++
I've tried going back into PFM to try again but whenever I try and save I get an error message saying something about "can't transfer from DBNull" ??
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
How do I find that in PFM? I'm not very familiar with how to use it...
That should be possible. You'd need to go to the text area, find the name, and change it.
The 12 turns per year mod requires a modified startpos, however this mod has a different startpos so they can't be used together.
Do you know of a reason why the 12 turns per year mod wouldn't work with this mod?
I did make a Chinese and Korean mod called Morning Sun using the Shogun 2 campaign so if you play a custom battle using these factions you may see Chinese and Korean units. I recommend Expanded Japan if you want to play Shogun 2 custom Battles.
The Southern Court is one of the playable factions in this mod (Go-Murakami). Basically in Japan there was a Northern and Southern Court, which alternated between which court provided the Emperor. Takauji declared a northern emperor to be the emperor to weaken the power of the current emperor Go-Murakami.
that said...
when i enter a custom battle, none of these units show up to use, but i do have... uh... korean and chinese ones for some reason? a faction called the Southern Court which SOUNDS pretty chinese to me, and all the korean and chinese units have white icons. is this your mod? or leftover files from another mod i might have that is conflicting even while off?
I am doing a playthrough with this map, and have some odd stuff for you:
Echigo has a naval tradition chain, but no port. The units recruitable there have enhanced morale for no apparent reason either.
Minamiuonuma's recruitable units have superior morale as if there is a holy site there, but there is no holy site.
I will let you know if i find more.
I've made some mods that have more regions for this campaign. Though date starts in another region. You may need to select and move a unit before they appear.
What do you mean by campaign mode?
