the amount of people just arguing about it is hilarious, the island belonged to the uk before argentina was even a thing, and it stayed in british hands until argentina invaded in the 80s, altho that was short lived. Im also just going to say, there was a vote and only 3 people voted to be apart of argentina while 100s voted for the uk... good luck winning hearts and minds

Been reading a lot on the Falklands recently,
The French colonised it first, Britain turned up a year later and we both claimed various bits of the Falklands.
Due to an alliance with Spain, France gave all its territory to them.
Spain's claim to this territory was a bit hazy. Now, all this happened before Argentina even existed.
Some time in the 1800's Argentina and Britain sat down to decide who owned the islands, Argentina did not want them and recognised them as British territory.
Then when NATO was formed, they sat down to see who owned what and again Argentina said 'Not ours'.

Twice in Argentinian history they have said the Falklands belong to Britain, so why do they keep claiming that it is theirs.
