Once upon a time, this was an amazing mod, ahead of its time. Really no one will undertake to finish it for WotC\LWotC? Moreover, the mechanics of relationships in WotC is already present.

It's really saddening to see this mod abandoned, it's a great concept that should be fleshed out with the new mechanics on bonding with the DLC relationship implementations. With that said, would this Mod work with the new War of the Chosen DLC? (haven't tried yet)

Sad this is discontinued... I can't buy the new DLC coz I don't like 'The Chosen'. Any chance we can just have the bondmate mechanism? :3

That bug has been in this sinse the beginning.
He said he fixed it before he abandoned it but I guess it still happens.

i have tried some different bondings. I noticed that you should not bond both of the same class and at least one of them must be a vanilla class - else it will crash.

I tried using it for the first time with the new classes (Not with Long War 2 but Long War Perk Pack) and the game froze and played music but didn't crash. I have put over 150+ Hrs into this game and love it even though it has issues when it comes to optimization. One day I hope someone with modding skills can remedy this issue so I can get back to playing matchmaker.

Freezes quite often... with a bit of persistance (Insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results) i've been able to get it to work twice so far in LW2.

I'm sure your plate is pretty full at the moment, but a port for the base Long War 2 classes would be pretty cool if you could ever get around to it. Thanks!

Tried bonding a Grenadier and a Shinobi using LW mod. Game froze, but didn't crash. After waiting for literally 4 hours, I decided to shut the game down. The bug doesn't crash the game anymore, but now it freezes it. The music kept playing, though.

Which mods does this not like? I mean, I have LW class mods. And when I try to bond, it crashes when its LW class mods. Could it be class mods that are not LW related?

Does this work for the aliens from your Allies Unknown mods, or will you always end up with a human? Not that I'm considering a Krogan breeding program or anything.

It's been crashing for me. It's probably a conflict with Potentials and maybe some of the LW mods. I love both of those mod sets, so I guess it's no future-kids for me for a while.

I am getting the crash as well, using the LW Mods and the Potentials mod.

When I disabled the Potentials mod it kinda fixes the problem for a short time but broke again after creating one child with some random Subclass skills not attached to the parent class.

Actually I also have the Potentials mod. There might be some conflict with the way you assign the bonus abilities.

I resubscibed, deleted config folder, validated files, still getting a crash when I try to bond 2 custom classes.

I'm still getting a freeze when trying to make a child. Both parents are LW Sharpshooters. I have VC Potentials installed as well. I'm trying to scrub the logs to see what's going wrong exactly but not finding the relevant lines. Anybody know what's going wrong/if the recent update actually fixed the custom class crash? I can upload the logs if needed.

I poked around a bit to see if I could make a Long War Perk Pack plugin for this mod (to give Perk Pack perks to children instead of psionics), but the scripting stuff is a bit beyond my ability.

Plus, why not psionics on future children anyway?

Well keep in mind that the Long War classes are custom classes. So if both of your soldiers were classes from that mod, then it should be working.

@Anomaly, Crap, forgot about the custom classes part. That, unfortunately, I'm not sure. I didnt download any custom classes (except for LWS Perk Mod) and tested out if 2 soldiers with custom classes would work. So take my claim with a grain of salt. My bad, dude.

Sorry if my input may not be worthwhile, but I checked if Potentials conflicts with LW Perk Pack via Alternative Mod Launcher and I don't it conflicts with anything according to it, so it looks good!

That is the main bug with this. One partner needs to be a default class or it will crash.
It's not written in the descrption and we will probably have to wait until somebody new picks up the project or finds a way around it.

I like the mechanic in FE, I'd use it here too. Could be even cooler if you integrate the whole "later generations have better growths/caps" thing, as well.
