@Waximus Oh yea I remember that issue, it's a problem with the Orc Spearman model, I'm a little surprised it's possible to get one without messing with the code, but that also means there would be a way to comment out code related to that spearman model, probably.

Actually may have figured out what causes it. I just walked my starting warrior onto a ruin and when it upgraded to a spearman suddenly the glitching you described happens. If you delete that unit the bug goes away, not an ideal fix but it's something

Does anyone else get the visual bug where parts of the map like spasms with black? How do i fix this.

(Forgot about the editor...will for sure mess with it...your friggin' soundtrack keeps calling me back...kudos again.)

@Yellowbeard Huh that's not an issue I have heard of before. I won't be posting any updates but you're welcome to open up the map with the map editor and make any changes you want. You won't be able to edit resource placement as that's randomly generated as part of the mod.

Thank you so much for all your work. Started my first playthrough with the Dwarves and was loving it...until I researched the wheel and was unable to build the water mill. The tile the settlers start on shows the river graphically available for that tile...but it does not show 'River' when it is moused over.

@lej21 Yea I have heard of that bug. You may have figured out more detail about it than others. Development of these mods ended about 6 years ago, although I did apparently do a small update to this mod in 2020. Can you try it without METSL and see if it happens?

Hi there,

I have run this mod and the suggested additional mods a number of times over the past couple months (each time with the hope the bug might not happen again), but it seems that every time I play somewhere between 80-100 turns in, when an AI send an add embassy request the game crashes.

This is on a steam version of the game on a Mac if that helps.

@Radiohead. I don't use that mod so I'm not sure how to help you. METSL is only really meant to be used with my other mods. It's hard to guarantee compatibility with something that complicated.

Trying to get the collection to work with vox populi. It seems to work fine if I disable True Start and Middle Earth Only. Would there be any obvious work around to still get the map and start locations and city states?

I had a save that was working with this set up a year or two ago but now it crashes on the first or second turn.

don't know if anyone is working on scenario yet, but can i get a permission to use your civs and maps to make custom scenario of the War of The Ring? I would really love to make this.

@da812manymonkey There is code for Mount Doom, but it looks to me that it's not technically a natural wonder. The vanilla Volcano has to have coast tiles all around it, which doesn't work for Mount doom. So Mount Doom is just a special mountain.

Thank you for responding. Again I love this mod and it mixes really well with LOTR Civ5.

I did click that and other attempts of various settings in the setup screen and taking LOTR off and going with MEC. None of the mordor natural wonders will appear in the huge or large map. Maybe I'm just missing something?

@Jay_718 I haven't worked on Civ 5 mods since 2016. I don't have any intention of taking on a Civ 5 project. I have been very careful never to accept money for this type of work to avoid any legal troubles. I encourage you to work on that project yourself and you are welcome to use any of my work as a guide.

@Mildly Traumatising Boy you need to follow the instructions above. And then click "custom game" I think. I think if you select single player instead it won't work. If that doesn't work please tell me what the options are after you select "next"

@MrClean You will need to add resources into the maps using World Builder to do what you are trying to do.

I am using the maps without activating the mod. Which file, if possible, will fix luxuries and resources not appearing? Maps spawn without any resources if not using the entire mod.

@Master Yoda I didn't do any of the unit modeling. Civitar has provided the Elf, Dwarf, and Gondor Models. Nomad or What has provided the Goblin and Orc models. Uruk provided the Orc Catapult. There work can be found on civfantics forums. There are probably tutorials there as well. I did do the code for importing the units and replacing them, so you can use what I did for examples of that.

@[SSU]yenyang Hey, i was just curious as to how you did the modelling for the unique units you have in the game? Do you have a specific forum/tutorial that could act as a guide? Also what software? I'm really interested in modelling units for my mod and i'd be greatful if you had this info.

Hey, just wondering if a full blown scenario is in the works? With a full tech tree, several new units, new buildings, etc. No worries if it isn't on your to do list :D

@Selt Hay man. When you sub to a mod, it wont malke any changes launching the game. When you do launch Civ 5, go to the mods option on the main menue. Checkmarke the mods you want to use and select continue. The game will then reconfigure data to use the mods and you can play them to your hearts content. If this is where you are not seeing the mods being active, then there was an error in the downloading process. At that point, best options are to delete the mods in th mods folder under user/documentsmygamesciv5/mods and redounload or(and idk how to do this) direct download. Hopefully someone else has some info on how to do that.

@Galactic_Legend I'm not sure, I've never done a scenario. Maybe you need to create a ModBuddy file that includes the map and that gets uploaded. I'd recommend looking at civfinatics forums or you tube. Wish I could help more, but I'm about to throw a party.

@Yenyang Back again, but I swear its not to ask any complicated questions. I finally finished up the senearieo I spoke about a while ago and I would like your permission to upload it to Steam. The only mods required are the other Middle Earth mods (Specificly factions, citystates, music and the fourth one which title I can not recall...). Thoughts?
