Bob (my husband) and I were playing last night on his computer. Researched Shen's Last Gift (elevator scene) when we got the crashes. Bob posted the result of that research. Someone tracked the bug to "tactical flyover".

If anyone needs further help with their mods, please consider these:

Hi! Very nice mod, though I experienced too problem in the Tower mission - just after you send your last trooper from first map to second, game crashes. Disabling this mod fixed problem. You may wish to add this to known problems (or - better- fix it if possible).

had to unsubscribe. Something in this mod causes Shen's DLC to stop working at the elevators

Hi! So, I have a heavily modded install, including Tactical Flyover. I had the widely reported crash to desktop in the Lost Towers mission when my last soldier boarded the elevator. I went through and disabled (and enabled) mods until I determined that disabling this one allowed me to complete the mission without crashing. Note that I am not saying that it is definitely your mod that is the problem--just what I experienced. If you'd like, I have the logs.

I know I asked earlier if removing fog of war permanently could even be done, and you said it is doable, so could you add a config option to do it in this mod when you have time?

FANTASTIC!!! :D was hoping to see something like that, strike before droping troops (though sneak should be remowed afther droping bombs or advents should have wider range of spoting- if used before droping troops). I'm using 1440x900 resolution so thats the problem, time for a new monitor... hope to see a much more usage of flying crafts in the future.

Hahaha. I know you do :P I will have a look into it at some point, when I've finished tinkering. I spent the last week or so just tweaking a procedural idle animation for the skyranger (so it bobs around in the sky, using maths, rather than actual canned animations). It's for a bit you'll see for all of about half a second. I get distracted by the stupidest things.

I'm currently working on the bomber. Interesting about the overlap on mission timer - on my display they sit just in between them: https://i.imgur.com/Bs276ma.png - what resolution are you running at?

squad view and remove flags buttons -they completly blocking timer when mission have one...
Very great idea on Tactical Flyover, maybe to put something like a bomber or armed with gutling gun? ;)

Hurrah! And glad they enjoyed it! I am 3 days into battling with thermal vision, but it's a total barsteward. I have no idea how they're drawing stuff though walls. UE3 doesn't seem to support it, so what magic they weave is confusing me.

Next time I start a mission, I'll copy out my save game before I do the sweep (if I can remember to).

In case it matters, it was a Black Site mission (x4 planting).

Oso, that's super annoying, and shouldn't happen. I'll add a small UI button to force cleanup, but I can't imagine the conditions under which this happened. If you still have the save game from before you did the first sweep, it'd be amazingly useful.

I did a flyover and now the "exploding things over that way" arrows won't dissappear. They are really annoying to have up, as there are lots of cars on the map. Is there a way to make them hide? They remain even after saving and reloading.

Removing for of war permanently is actually a really bad idea - makes it super hard to judge where your vision runs, and where aliens will pop out from. But, yeah, I could add that easily enough.

This looks really cool and I'll add it when I finish my first playthrough. Does this have anything special to remove Fog of War? If there is something simple for that, could you make a mod that removes FOW permanently like the cheat "ToggleFOW" and leaves it off, just doesn't show the enemies? Nice work ont his mod by the way.

If you'd rather pass, spoink it at Divine Lucubration and Co. The stuff they are doing with the escalation classes is impressive. Officer class with this mod's abilities would be commanding all the respects available. ;)

@Meatbang yeah, that's actually a nice idea. I'm wary about forcing new abilities (only because I haven't really looked into them much, and they look.. annoyingly complicated), but lots of people are doing them, so it might be worth a crack.

@Dabs - same reason - tinkering with officers/classes is probably outside my remit :P

For hooking it up to a skill: How about granting it to every soldier (as a free move) that can ONLY be used on the first turn, to scope out the map shape?

Maybe too niche to make exclusive to a class but...

Definitely hear (and like) the idea of hooking this to a skill (or at least a rank) - will consider it for version 2 - in the meantime, let m

I've added in a drone strike button, for a joke. It just creates a bunch of explosions across the map. I might hook it to some research or proving ground project or something, if there's genuine interest, and allow targeting. Like a one-shot WARsuit item, perhaps?

Shadow79 - is it showing enemies? It absolutely shouldn't be, and there's nothing in there that should/would reveal them. If anyone's having it reveal enemies, do let me know! I need to plug that quicksmart. If you can upload your savegame somewhere, that'd be hugely helpful.
