I like it. The only part I don't like is the fact it has sustain, but I just universally despise the sustain ability, so.

@Sir Luis That's not this mod's fault. That is the fault of banish being the most broken skill in the entire game when paired with a level 3 expanded mag and crit boosters.

I seriously hate what weapon attachments do to the game so much (repeaters and hair triggers are the worst, but the rest are bad as well) that I never use them anymore.
I just treat them as "advent tech scraps we can't use for anything, but can make money of at the black market". PCSes get the same treatment because anything that allows you to stack aim for free is bad game design.

Do that and install the mod "Reload Ends Turn" if you want the game to be interesting to play again.

Is this WotC compatibale? Because this mod prevents my game from loading. It crashes after the Feral Menu screen.

oo yeah about that mark 2 riftkeeper was scary first time i finally ran into him but nowadays like 1 soldier and banish skill n u got dead riftkeeper in 1 turn. they seem like they are weak or nerfed? im thinking we need like a mark 3 or 4 maybe 1 day?

So glad I downloaded this. I knew I was in for a challenge... But Jesus god damned christ. I got so lucky and didn't lose a single squadmember. This thing summons allies via rifts like it's welcoming them to a party. A party to celebrate on your squads scattered remains that is. What a seriously tough fight that was - this enemy definitely deserves to be called a "Boss".

The current situation is: I dont have WOTC and I'm kinda "meh" about it from all I have read and seen. If a LW2 Port for WOTC ever appears this may very well change, but currently I would say: Dont hold your breath for the near future. Ofcourse its always possible that im just bored on some random weekend and just go for it, if that happens i will make sure to write a copmment here ;)

Excellent points!! Yeah, that's what I meant by love it and hate it, lol. It got me now chasing council missions to rescue FOUR soldiers, hahaha, but it was my error for not bringing psi's, mind shields, and clumping them up together!

My riftkeeper stasis removes ap at the start of each turn. I included this in an update some months ago as a work around for an old bug of stasis (soldiers affected by stasis could still receive orders which bugged them out for the rest of the mission). Them not getting back any actions when stasis is "purged" prematurely is a side effect of this, but i actually thought its good this way. Before this i rarely ever feared and played around stasis because in many cases i would just kill the riftkeeper next turn anyway. So you could say yes its intended this way ;). Respect the stasis! Dont clump up! (mind shield or solace also help)

Question: When I kill a Riftkeeper that has cast Stasis on soldiers, the Stasis is removed, but my characters don't have any actions left, not even yellow. Is this by design? I ask because, I was doing a council mission, fighting 5 riftkeepers (yes, i'm insane and ini tweaked :D), and the final one on the very last turn, with 4 of my soldiers within range of the evac zone, got put into stasis. I killed the riftkeeper with my remaining soldiers, but because it was the last turn, those 4 got captured. I'm still debating whether I love it or hate it, lol. I've been using your riftkeeper for months now (my favorite mod), and this is the first time the ability kicked my butt. Just wondering what your thoughts were on that behavior. An alternative could be, if the riftkeeper is killed, maybe the soldiers regain just 1 action, not the full 2. Not sure though, but in any case, food for thought.

When the expansion is out i will probably ONLY update non-LW2 mods at first, since LW2 will most likely not be compatible at first and i assume it will take some time until it is. So yes, I plan to update non-LW2 versions (if I even have to), may take some time though since i need to playtest and have time to play.

There we go ;). Released an update that includes the "Rift Anchor", an Item that has no use in tactical missions but lets you prioritize soldiers to be summoned by the Rift Beacon. Idea by Oberfuhrer-Raziel.

I have WAY too many mods so it was probably that now that I think about it. Lots of cosmetic and a fair number of other tweaks. Thanks for the response though!

It was successful in every other way, and I found a work around--I did a save AFTER it entered stasis but before its turn and it successfully exited stasis and proceeded as normal afterward. Thanks for the idea to kill it via console if it happens again and that work around doesn't work again!

no idea, did you modify anything (like the inis) ...did it succcesfully summon enemies before the incidient? If the issue persists i would suggest killing the riftkeeper via console command

I'm having an issue in my current mission where after the Riftkeeper gets down to 1 hp and puts itself into stasis, the moment it goes to its turn the game crashes to desktop with a pure virtual function error. Any idea?

Thanks, LeaderEnemyBoss. Think that was the issue I encountered (which I mentioned in the LW 2 version mod page rather than here. I'm just spamming everwhere...). I think the guy who got teleported in had less health but that could be false memory syndrome.

To be honest I didn't think it was a bug. I didn't check back here for the beacon's planned behaviour and so assumed things were working as designed. Like a Terminator-style rift where some equipped items don't make it through the portal. Regardless, having an extra trooper on the last mission is a real boon, armour or not.

Another Update ... hopefully all Riftbeacon issues are resolved. An unknown XCom 2 update during the last year made it a bit buggy (armor/passive items the summoned unit wore didnt register properly). I was not playing for a while and didnt get any bug reports, so I never noticed this.

You could select your soldier that was under stasis and issue him commands. After this he would no longer be usable for the rest of the mission. If you never did this (switching soldiers with tab usually doesnt even select units affected by stasis) you never encountered this bug ;).

What was the issue with Stasis? I've used these guys in a couple of campaigns now and no problems leap out at me from my recollections of the Riftkeeper's use of Stasis.

Small update: fixed an old issue with stasis (Firaxis never did and I'm better at modding now ^^)

This is very possible yes. This mod uses a custom mechanism to prevent to many Venators from spawning (since vanilla hasnt a suitable one) but it may interfere with LW2. If this is the case, i would against using this mod with LW2 until I release a compatible version.

i found some bug with LW2 in determining mission enemy numbers mechanism.
use this mod with LW2 and launch "0%" mission , the enemy numbers is not "Heavy" or avove enemy activities but only "Extremely Light" numbers.
i doubt some enemy spawning mechanism in this mod conflict against LW2 alien activity system ?

I've herard reports that it "works" but can lead to unexpected results. I wouldnt use it with LW2. I will release a compatible version ...some day.....

I tried this with LW2 a while back. The results were hilariously traumatic. Got them on a retaliation mission (the one with constant reinforcements) and the Riftkeepers kept spawning in more Riftkeepers. Think I had about 6 by the time all my troops died (granted, I could have gotten a few out, but I wanted to see how long it would take them to kill me). This is in addition to all the enemies that regularly spawn, and all the enemies the Riftkeepers kept spawning.

Just checked the screenshot I took, had 103 enemies surrounding me by turn 15 :D
Killed 53 before all my troops died. Saved 1 civilian. Mission "Complete".
