@Grebog heh, sorry but I'm trying for the experience of a shipwrecked survivor on an island of dinosaurs. I really don't get the bizarrely out-of-place elements Wildcard has jammed into the game and am trying my best to mod them out.
This version of the mod puts something very useful in, a need they overlooked (I got a similar mod for Minecraft by way of example). I'll just work around the E key destruction problem by only loading the Outline mod when I need to. Thanks for your responses, I appreciate your helpfulness!

@Grebog aww, thanks but no thanks. I don't like this kind of artificial item in a primitive surivival horror game. I am ok with the basic functionality just getting an upgrade, but I'd rather not go this route. Thanks anyways.

@Billsbuddyfrom'Nam Please use my new Helmet Mod: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=756389708 It uses the O key (Drop Item key) to pick up items. You can change the key, if you change the "drop item key" in Ark.

Hi, I have a big suggestion. Do not use "E to pick up", instead make that an option in the menu ONLY. The reason is simple - you can easily accidentally pick up a structure, including a foundation, and that destroys everything it's supporting. And ofc you don't even get the salvage from the parts 'cause Ark. I accidentally trashed my first shack just opening the door - the cursor slipped 1 pixel down onto the foundation as I hit E and bam - no more shack. It would be just as useful and much safer to use if the Pick Up option were in the option menu only. I love this mod otherwise, thanks for putting in the effort!

the idea is to wear a builders helmet, which gives a buff to see the outline. i lost the old sources for this outline mod and have to rebuild it, because it does not work for structures like the new stairs. so i decided to make a new mod.

New outline mod? Does it need something else? Do not make the mistake to overcomplicate mods. The best mods are the most simplistic quality of life mods that add missing substance to the game. That look and feel like they were shipped with the vanilla game.

Love this mod, so usefull and saves resources. Unfortunately there is a bug that prevents me from placing//replacing wooden staircases.

@Greadow: because of the pre-alpha version of this mod i would not use it on a server, although it will work also on a server as i tested it

Could you apply this to the structure placement mechanic? Unless there's a mod out there that does that already.

So instead of the crappy 'placing' model could we get the actual model with or without an outline?
