i downloaded lots of mods and when i tried launching it kept saying the same crash msg and then i tried removing the mods i thought wer the cause,when i finally have the remaining mods i used bfore the lots of mods downloaded it stil giving the same bullcrap only by deselecting all the wotc mods was i able 2 launch the game,i xit selected my usual mods and it gave me the same shit so i finally decided 2 uninstal and then installing it again if this doesnt work goodbye wotc 4 the rest of my life!

So, playing about with the class a bit and I have to say. It's surprisingly effective against psionics primarily due to the flame thrower being able to disorient them.

for the armor and AWC fix just add lines below after "+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon, WeaponType="customflame")"

in the XcomClassData.ini in the mods config folder:


+AllowedArmors=soldier
+bAllowAWCAbilities=1

If anyone is new to this mod and not sure what is going on, then I'll explain that this mod is broken. Whilst the class will still work just fine and you are able to play and use them, they are unable to equip any armor, meaning that late-game they become exceptionally squishy.

Yo, while this class works on LW2, isn't there a way to change the abilities? I mean, it is a class focused on burning things up, it really could use that perk to burn machines. I would change it myself, but unfortunately I have no idea how to make that change.

Here is the fix for this soldier class not wearing armor - cut and paste the following lines to the bottom of the directed page - remember to follow the folder/file map, as the mods are not installed with the main xcom files.

Add these two lines to: steam/steamapps/workshop/content/268500/631056086/Config/XComClassData

+AllowedArmors=soldier
+bAllowAWCAbilities=1

If you have other custom classes installed and cannot where armor on them, you can manually look through your other mods installed in the "268500" folder and add those lines for them as well - i did this for several other classes and it only took me 10 minutes or so...

- If you want to keep things neat you can add the lines right after the +allowedweapons entries rather than at the end of the page - either way works.

This is still one of my favorite classes, and I am glad to see this mod still up in the workshop!

Hi, First of all, I really like your flamer Shock Trooper.
However, is it normal that the fire starter can not leave Burning Ground?
Also he can not torch the Cover or blowe the car with flame...

Mod owner can't update the mod anymore, so you'll just need to manually enter and save that to fix that problem.

if it isn't an armor prob, could be hidden potential thing.

hi! nice work! one question: i have a shock trooper with sergeant rank and he still have, without predator armor, 5 hp... is it normal? he should have more hp...

Okay, guys. for the record, Sunfish no longer has the mod tools. so stop posting suggestions. the Mod is gonna stay up, and it should because it's awesome, but it's not likely to be updated anytime soon.

Just enjoy what we got.

and Broc, use your shocks more aggressively. it's why they get dodge for just moving. additionally. they work well wirth Grenadiers since you can pre-destroy cover and actually force the x-rays into a specific place.

I'm not sure exactly how it would work, but what I think would make this class really rock is an ability where they can't get revealed until the end of their turn. Specifically, all the various cone and line abilities are nifty and all, but it's really hard to catch more than 1 person in them once the enemy squad scatters. Thus, it would be cool if you could run up to them, and then use your ability before they scatter. I like the class overall, but I feel like those early abilities are wasted due to an inability to hit multiple targets.

@Disabused Sunfish: With the annoucement of LWS perk pack and regarding any new update to incorporate LWS perk pack, would you mind to seperate your mod into two version, one with need LWS perk pack and one without? After I take a look at LWS perk pack, I don't really think I'm going to use it at all. Most of the perks just basic +stats based on circumstance and not really offer much creative design and there even joke perk on it (looking at you, Commissar). Moreover, it seems to conflict with a lot of good mods that author of those mods seems to move on already, so, can't really expect update for compatibility.

So, if your future update need LWS perk pack, would you please make it seperate mod. Thank in advance.

Is it me, or Shocks don't seem able to wear EXO Suits, nor Predator Armor?
That gives them a serious disadvantage in the latter game...

@ShotgunSoul: honestly, i find shocks are more battlefield control and flankers. Grenadiers and Infantry are good tanks. these are the guys you use when you need to keep mobile and control the field, via tackle and their flamethrowers (i find Stocks and Repeaters are also good mods, especially with bullet time.)

I did add these lines, I still cannot equip armor at all. I even deleted mygames' config files and re-launched XCOM 2 with that line added. My Shocktrooper still cannot equip anything, just weapons and items.

My only problem with this mod is that every hireable soldier (XCOM HQ/Black Market) that isn't a rookie is always a Shock Trooper, forcing me to take the time to retrain them :c

Grimy's Bruiser has replaced this guy as the "tank" in my modded squads.

There's potential in this mod as a "tank" and user for the exoskeletal armor, but I don't know if the original author is coming back to improve this. It really needs a boost for the flamethrower side to make it a viable two-tree soldier option.

A few ideas:

- Room Clearer and Set the World on Fire now destroy cover.

- Spray & Prey really hasn't shown much. Replace with White Phosphorous, a skill that gives two free flashbangs that do 2 damage, disorientation for two rounds and set foes on fire?

-Replace the GTS perk with Pyromania: all fire-based attacks gain +3 damage and provides free dragon rounds by default? It would give the SMG-spec tree a boost as well, and give a free slot if you've had ammo hogging it up.

My Shock Troopers can't wear armor, i thought it was some sort of thing to "balance" them or something, but other than that this mod is very nice. Nice job! :steamhappy:

In addition to the update breaking armor compatability, my shock trooper now seems to be aiming through the ground, and can't actually use any firestarter skills.

@trevimusprime: it's legacy code doing it. they changed how that works. there's a fix by Grimy here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Xcom/comments/4j3rus/how_to_fix_your_class_mods/ . might take a little, but you can manually fix it at least until the mods DO get updated.

New patch makes the armour now unequippable on thuis class (although this seems to be all custom classes)..
