I know those comments are old, but to everyone wondering why this isn’t compatible with WotC anymore, it is. You have to use Alternative Mod Launcher rather than the default launcher. The default launcher isn’t great anyway, and if you are modding XCOM 2, WotC, or Chimera Squad, you should absolutely be using AML anyway.

The thing I like most about this mod is how it makes new recruits and civilians have ridiculous hair colours. Really great mod!

Today (for the Shen´s last gift DlcPatch) opened the game, and your mod wasn´t working (black colors)... Unsuscribed and Suscribed and worked again fine Just letting you know...

Any issues with the new patch?

I have tried your work around. It worked once. I later had to remove all mods after having a problem with a different mod and started over. I had the same problem again with this mod, so I did the work around and this time, it didn't work. I repeated the process three times and even restarted my computer. IT STILL DIDN'T WORK. What gives here. It would have been nice to have extra hair colors but this screws up my game... Can I just remove your mod and go back to the way I had it? Is anyone else experiencing the same problem.

@Kimitri The reason is because my mod purely overrides the vanilla color palettes and Firaxis didnt make it so mods removed their config additions upon being disabled for whatever reason.

Its my fault for not seeing the instructions in the description. It did fix my problem. Any idea why it does that?

Same problem. This mod screwed up my game.

The colors dosen't works.
I try to fix it going on the documents and changing the script as you say but nothing happens.
Also I try to unscribe the updates but the problem still remain...
All the hair colors are only black.

Hey man, I figured it out. I can't believe the only thing I messed up was the ini edit. I didn't realize that it was "upkname.archtype".

Hey carmau, could you upload an example file or ModBuddy solution file so I can have a look at how you did this? Tried to figure this out back in Feb for like two weeks.

I found a strange error, when I uninstalled the mod, the hair color selection is broken the hair color selection in all character editing / character pool... It showed 70-something random colored boxes, but nothing can be chosen and every character is stuck with matte black hair. It was only fixed by deleting the entire folder in my documents (save games, character pool, etc..)

Any chance you will me a "natural" hair colors only version? or if not could you direct me to how to create some options myself?

Fricking yes. I second and third this. Just being able to choose different regions to color would be sooooooo much cooler. Would rly make a character stand out. How about highlights? O.o. That would be awesome too.

I was puzzled by the limited hair colors available in the first place. Like, the aliens would ban dyes for being a health risk =P

@Loxosceles I will look into having that be configurable, I need to find out where the civilians pull their colors from. Don't think distinguishing between rookies will be very possible in the first pass.

@carmau I deleted my post about the blue hue I was seeing. Turns out that when you are creating a soldier in the character pool from the main menu all the lights in the armory are seemingly turned off creating a blue haze over everything. My bad.

Hi... congratulations on the mod. You added some cool colors, although like other users I had a hard time uninstalling. I finally found the file, did what you described and it worked.

On another note, I would really like to keep this mod. Is there any chance you could keep default colors for civs and rookies? Maybe configurable?

I can't wait till someone comes up with a FACIAL change mod! The basic game is SOOOO restrictive on the facial features of your squad. Same 5 faces for the most part for each race is so stupid.

Sweet. The hair colour range was ridiculously limited... the most vibrant brunette colour was faded and greyish, and the closest thing to orange was a weird blonde.
