Ah i see, I think that I just loaded them into NIFscope and exported to OBJ, then imported into blender and re-rigged them to the hl2 biped skeleton

I use the same quickBMS script, I'm just curious how you converted the actual models to SFM once you got them out of the WAD files
Claire Crankenhägen  [author] Mar 18 @ 8:07pm
i used a quickBMS script to decompile the game wads. if you google wizard101 quickBMS you might find it
gl1tchgreml1n Mar 18 @ 12:13pm
How did you convert them for SFM? I'm trying to convert some maps and props

the world will end when someone successfully slips belladonna crisp into sfm

I want a rattle snake model in gmod
ninjitsu102 Dec 3, 2022 @ 11:35am
HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!
dr.shankster Aug 7, 2022 @ 6:52pm
Yeah, I wanna roll up on some combine as Merle Ambrose in GMod.
Speed Racer Aug 5, 2022 @ 1:22pm
I don't suppose that you already abandoned the project of porting these to Gmod?
KageBlight12 May 20, 2020 @ 8:18pm
You should totally do more characters from that game. I think the Kraken (Modern texture and/or classic textures) from said game will do nicely. That species needs more support.
The Faceless Gamer Nov 29, 2018 @ 12:15pm
Oh ok. Thanks. I'll look into the plugin
Claire Crankenhägen  [author] Nov 28, 2018 @ 6:32pm
photoshop can open dds files with a plugin, that's what i use
The Faceless Gamer Nov 28, 2018 @ 1:01pm
Oh. Thanks again. I figured out how to save the texture as a DDS image. Know I need to figure out what program can read DDS textures. This is the furthest I have ever gotten to getting models from wizard101 to Blender. I'm exited. I've got more dingging to do.
Claire Crankenhägen  [author] Nov 28, 2018 @ 11:10am
using nifskope I found the textures just sort of by digging around in the file structure of the nif and found something to export. its kind of finnicky so i dont know how to explain it super well, since i havent touched the stuff in so long, either. but you definitely have to export the textures from nifskope itself. i hope you have good luck figuring it out...
The Faceless Gamer Nov 27, 2018 @ 12:55pm
Nevermind. I found the addon/scrip to import nif files. Still no idea on how to get the textures yet.
The Faceless Gamer Nov 27, 2018 @ 12:52pm
Thanks a ton! I've spent hours searching and couldn't figure it out. I still have yet to figure out how to get the textures but I opened the .nif file in NifSkope and saved it as an .OBJ because I don't know how to open nif files directly in Blender. I was testing it on the star wand since it's a simple object
Claire Crankenhägen  [author] Nov 24, 2018 @ 4:25pm
I use QuickBMS to extract the files from the WADs, and then Nifskope to open the model files and export them into a format readable by blender.
The Faceless Gamer Nov 23, 2018 @ 2:55am
You extracted these models with the textures directly from Wizard101?? HOW?!? I've been look for a long time on how to do exatly that. Can you please tell me or point me in the right direction. I want to try making an animation with Blender with the Wizard101 models. I've tried using "Ninja Ripper" but it didn't really work.

Also, I don't think KI (the devs). I've asked about making fan animations by email and they are ok with people making any kinds of art with their propery, just don't make profit from it.

This is fucking cool mate, love it.

FireMoonbow Oct 10, 2016 @ 10:02am
OH! how much I need this in gmod.
Claire Crankenhägen  [author] May 18, 2016 @ 6:31pm
yea i don't play it anymore either. I did learn how to mod it though, so i figured it would be cool to port these guys
Shawn May 18, 2016 @ 3:11am
Wow I'm surprised someone cared enough about W101 to port these models. I loved this game but tbh I grew out of it.
Mac Tonight Feb 29, 2016 @ 7:01am
Oh, just wanted to say this because... no reason but, when I was in 8th grade I had an extremely intelligent friend.
Want to know how intelligent he was? He was able to make a portable phone charger with an Altoid's case, some special like battery, and wires.
I remember he took the whole game of Majora's Mask and placed it on his phone.
Sorry, just wanted to tell ya something cool.
:)
Claire Crankenhägen  [author] Feb 26, 2016 @ 12:34am
I was gonna do the commons and golem tower too but they require soooo many materials... Like holy crap a lot. Idk if i'll do it or not but it would be so cool :D
Mac Tonight Feb 25, 2016 @ 11:20pm
I have waited for this day, for so long to have someone extract a model from Wizard101.
Thank you very much.
:)
I'm thinking I should extract the Commons from Wizard City and port it into SFM.
Mecha Feb 20, 2016 @ 8:10pm
Oh God yes.
Claire Crankenhägen  [author] Feb 20, 2016 @ 1:24pm
Technically i already have made it for gmod as npcs and playermodels, but gmod is annoying to upload for so ive been procrastinating on it
SlytheEmo Feb 20, 2016 @ 10:58am
This also needs to be on GMOD! This is so freakin amazing!
portable cattleman Feb 19, 2016 @ 3:10am
Hah! Nostalgia...
Claire Crankenhägen  [author] Feb 17, 2016 @ 3:01pm
Hey, if you guys end up making any screenshots or videos with this send me the link :D
Claire Crankenhägen  [author] Feb 17, 2016 @ 1:56pm
If i can properly export them then yes i will try to sometime. Its not a guarantee though because as i said before the exporter cannot fully unpack the files
Monster Master FightingLucario Feb 17, 2016 @ 1:29pm
AW YEAH! Wizard101 is one of my favorite games!
Warkin Iskander Volselli Feb 17, 2016 @ 9:38am
Can you do some other things like the Scarabs, Tigers, And other enemys?
Kumquat [Velbud] Feb 17, 2016 @ 6:53am
Interesting. Well, at least you showed that it's possible. Cool models!
Claire Crankenhägen  [author] Feb 16, 2016 @ 10:32pm
no idea. I don't exactly have a reliable program to extract the files, it only extracts less that about 10% of the data available in the packages, and there are no other extraction tools for W101.

I do believe though that i'm the only guy on the internet who knows how to mod the music in Wizard101 without it getting replaced by the file-checker on startup, though, which is cool.
Kumquat [Velbud] Feb 16, 2016 @ 10:13pm
Will we get more stuff from Wizard101?
