Wasn't able to make bronzeman mode show up in select difficulty menu.

The mod BUGS when trying to reload mid alien turns... because it saves mid alien turn...so it bugs up turn number, ends alien turn mid their turn and, flips to player turn

Please remove saving mid alien turns..Otherwise the mod is awesome

In my last campaign with this mod enabled I did the whole of the Shen's Last Gift mission without crashing.
I seem to remember seeing some reports of crashes there in the Discussion bit of the Workshop. Not sure if anyone posted a fix.

I'm tired of having my game crash due to an error or something. Mostly destroys my Iron-man Campaign.
This mod fixes that... however, i wish to know if it works with LW2... ^^

Yep sorry I confirm it's not caused by bronzeman itself, it's just something that happens more often when you don't play ironman, maybe a bug with the way the game handles save files.

Seems to work fine, except one thing. I got the "stuck under the avenger" bug every couple of missions. No idea in which way the mod causes this but I played a few ironman campaigns before, and everything was fine. Dunno if it can help you if you get around to check the code again.

Hey Krats, it might be, but it's unverified for now. LW2 changes enough things that the code this mod touches very likely conflicts with LW2. Most likely I will verify after another week or two as dust settles more.

Hey Malevolence, my decision to not let you do Bronzeman and Ironman at the same time was a gameplay decision, since Ironman is more restrictive than Bronzeman about when you can save. If you enable Bronzeman and then choose Ironman, it'll start an Ironman campaign without Bronzeman.

I decided to do it this way because vanilla Ironman forces you to deal with all of the variables and RNG. So I felt that getting the Ironman achievement shouldn't be possible if you are protected from the variables and RNG.

You don't want Ironman then. Just use Bronzeman, it is exactly what you want.

Man I wish I could at least restart a mission in Ironman, so many variables and rng that can **** up a campaing ^^, I just ask because of his update note: "No longer allows you to enable Ironman if Bronzeman was selected."

So yeah, would be nice to see a Bronzeman Ironman :D

Love this mode - it would be really nice if the Escape menu still allowed the "Restart Mission" option like in vanilla. The only time I ever want to reload is when something buggy or stupid happens on a mission. Would save a lot of time.

This mod takes my game forever to reload. It goes to the load screen then just fails. Task manager says it's still active, but I just delete it because it takes way too long. Deleting your mod for now as I don't think it works properly with Long War or something. I don't have anything else that should conflict with it (like other mission restart mods, for example). I did a fresh install of everything so its not old files or anything like that.

erutan: Can you provide me with screenshots of the problem in action? Separately, do you see this problem happening during Gatecrasher, or during speical story/DLC missions, or during normal randomly generated missions?

It's inconsistent for me at the moment - sometimes in game menus in battle shows save/load, sometimes they don't. No mod conflicts aside from itself reported in alternate xcom launcher, cleared out and rebuilt config folder.

Not working for me. Sometimes it would launch the new game without the option to save available, then save option would appear. Sometimes it is just here right from the start. Can't figure what's the problem. I do have restart mission mod for example, that touch the menu, but it worked a year from now so i guess it's not that.

Lol, nevermind, this behavior is also happening to "reduce VO" and other buttons on the lower area, so I understand it a consequence of inheriting from their class.

At least here when I try pressing the Bronzeman mode button (the large button, not the checkbox), it both check and uncheck the Bronzeman checkbox imediately after, the only way I get it working was to press on the checkbox box itself.

I see in previous comment this block the achievement, why not but i already lost almost 100hours of game because of bugs, i am ok to keep my ingame mistakes but bugs corrupting saves....

Yeah. Get the end of mission card (number of them dead, number of mine dead). Click on OK. Pause for a few seconds with a blank screen. Then Skyranger interior screen with almost instantaneous Click To Continue.
Every mission in this campaign so far. Been about 12-15 I think.
Sp, guessing it's not an intentional change on this mod's part then.

Hrm.

The only mod I can think of which affects that is the "Mission Award Variety" mod, but that's not been updated in a while and I didn't get this whilst running its current version in previous campaigns.

So far there's been no issues with it, I’m a bit leery as I believe the Caps Lock trick causes CTDs, so it isn't a good idea.

I'll see how things go, if problems occur I'll work to properly identify what's causing it.

Loving the mod, btw. This campaign is the first time I've tried the game with limited saving. Whilst I haven't been particularly bad with save scumming in the past I have done it. This is really raising the tension.

I'm not sure if it's this mod or not but on my recent playthroughs the end Skyranger scene is over in a flash. Basically, the mission ends. Maybe a 5-10 second pause, Skyranger screen appears and immediately the Click to continue button is enabled.
It's almost like there's an automated Capa Lock key press happening. Anyone else using this mod seen this?

backdireneis: Almost. Bronzeman gives you a button to send you back to the Avenger rather than just restarting the mission so that you get a new randomly generated mission each time.

@Guby: Maybe I didn`t make myself clear. I was curious, if there would be a possibility have that Longwar - Ironman/Bronzeman: meaning: To have a simple Restart button in an Ironman-Game.

If you started the campaign in Ironman mode, You can't switch to Bronzeman later.

Ah, ok. And is this possible with Ironman/Bronzeman? I like the idea of the bronzeman - mode in Long War. Like having a simple, working "restard" button.

backdireneis: correct, the mod doesn't work with the tutorial. It does this for the same technical reasons that you can't both activate the tutorial and play Ironman. If you really want both, I would recommend turning Bronzeman Mode on in the settings menus after you have completed the tutorial missions.
