@simonmd - welcome back mate and yup still using your route!
simonmd  [author] Sep 16, 2021 @ 2:56am
I've been away from the community for quite some time due to personal issues so it's such a delightful surprise to find this still being used and appreciated, it was quite a thrill to see it featured on Traimsim Live!

Thank you all for the kind comments ☺️

Hi, I'm missing signal posts at Kings Cross, where could I find them?
chris_i_h Apr 2, 2020 @ 6:02pm
Hi Simonmd. Just like to thank you for your work in putting this one together. I have just uploaded a scenario for it onto the workshop. search "Cravens to Welwyn".

Hi simonmd,
Have only just discovered this route on the Workshop, thanks to "Not Silent" who has written 3 scenarios for it.
I see it has been available for almost 2 years already.
Many thanks for your hard work creating this route, as it is a pleasure to drive it without those pesky overhead wires and now looking like the 1960s that I remember.
Have enjoyed the run from Kings Cross to Stevenage with the A4, the Bulleid Pacific and the King class locos.
Many thanks once again,
Best Regards,
Paul

Amazing! I'll test it right now, sadly I don't have South London Network so I'll be surely missing some scenery, but still! It looks great and is perfect to (for example) make scenarios and videos and things about LNER and BR periods
thepaganator Sep 3, 2016 @ 5:31am
This is probably the highest quality workshop route to date. It looks like old BR days and really gives the feel of the ECML in its ''hay day!'' A very well done. By the looks of things, some DTG developpers like it too!

I love what you have done with this simonmd. I think spending time doing the tunnel at Kings Cross was time well spent. It was the one thing I remember so well as a trainspotter in the mid 1960s - Class 31s 'popping up' with as you said 2-3 carriages. I love getting the camera to be over on the platform on scenarios, watching a train coming out of the tunnel. I have enjoyed numerous hours on this route you have done. Thanks

Hi, a really fantasitic route that captures the atmosphere of the line back then well. However I think it is important to make the point that the application of semaphore signalling seems to have been confused with MAS signalling principles, although I can understand that it may be due to the fact that DTG seemed to have also done the same on the Riviera line in the 50s route. While it may be too late to change now perhaps this little guide I wrote on semaphore signalling may be useful for future routes https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=708385768 . Thank you for backdating this route :steamhappy: .
simonmd  [author] Jul 3, 2016 @ 8:29pm
Exeter to Kingswear IS the Riviera line in the 50s, it states that clearly in the requirements.
simonmd  [author] Jun 6, 2016 @ 11:26am
Mostly minor scenery, wooden crossings, some minor buildings, stuff like that.
Simmo Jun 6, 2016 @ 5:07am
what assets would i be missing without south london route
len.cripps Apr 28, 2016 @ 2:41am
Ah thanks Simonmd. It works well now thanks.
simonmd  [author] Apr 27, 2016 @ 2:09pm
You cant drive a workshop route from your workshop page, you have to select it in game just like any other route.
len.cripps Apr 27, 2016 @ 1:55pm
Drive button greyed out ?
Centurion Apr 26, 2016 @ 4:00pm
odd, all i'd like to do is reverse into the station like in your scenario
simonmd  [author] Apr 25, 2016 @ 7:06pm
All the points at Top Shed are manual, you must make sure your path is set correctly or you will de-rail.
Centurion Apr 25, 2016 @ 12:45pm
can't, red button over them
simonmd  [author] Apr 24, 2016 @ 5:35pm
Change the points.
Centurion Apr 24, 2016 @ 2:37pm
keep getting derailed on the way out of the top sheds :/
simonmd  [author] Apr 4, 2016 @ 7:17pm
Well aside from less mobile phone towers and the Emirates stadium not being there, the present day ECML is pretty close to the late '80s so people can use a bit of interpretation there. By the end of the 1970s, the line had been electrified and Kings Cross had been redeveloped to pretty much how it is now, both York Rd Station and the old signal box being closed by then. I look forward to your scenario, anything in BR Blue is cool!
BritishRail60062 Apr 4, 2016 @ 7:05pm
I am mate, I think you are going to like the scenario I am making. I have based it in 1983 as then I can be creative. Also if you could make a circa 1986-1988 version which would allow for a right mixed bag of treats from BR. That would be great :).
simonmd  [author] Apr 4, 2016 @ 2:35pm
Pleasure, hope you enjoy.
BritishRail60062 Apr 4, 2016 @ 2:21pm
Just subbed to this route, thanks for the mod :).
leftergr Apr 1, 2016 @ 9:25am
Thank you Simon. I will then give it a try , and I will return with my review in a few days :-)
simonmd  [author] Apr 1, 2016 @ 8:24am
@ leftergr - Yes, you can run the route without the SLN, you will simply have some scenery items missing but nothing vital.
simonmd  [author] Apr 1, 2016 @ 8:23am
The Riviera 1950's route is a default route that came with every paid copy of TS2016. The only way to get it is to buy the upgrade and unfortunately, you've just missed the 'March Madness' sale.
Mark0468 Apr 1, 2016 @ 2:17am
The route is brilliant and works fine. Sadly I have some missing assets as I don't have the Exeter to Kingswear Riviera (1950s) route. Do you have a link for it please ?
leftergr Mar 31, 2016 @ 1:32pm
This really seems like a great route , that I would love to try . But unfortunately I don't own the South London Network . :steamsad:

So wanted to ask , if the route will play without it ? Is it so necessary or it just uses a few scenery ( that perhaps I could do without ) ?
simonmd  [author] Mar 29, 2016 @ 7:22pm
Now featured on TrainSimLive!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSoTqcSy2Lw
simonmd  [author] Mar 27, 2016 @ 6:31am
Of course not, the more the merrier.
AE5914 Mar 27, 2016 @ 4:10am
I have made a scenario on this route in transition era, do you mind if I upload it to steam workshop?
simonmd  [author] Mar 26, 2016 @ 8:08am
Like I said below yes.
Swissdave Mar 26, 2016 @ 7:44am
ah so u mean play from the quick drive?
simonmd  [author] Mar 26, 2016 @ 7:42am
Derp, you cant drive a ROUTE from the workshop page, thats for scenarios only. You select it exactly the same way as you do any other route from the main menu. If you have no scenarios for it yet, goto QuickDrive, select yourself a train and then drive from there.
Swissdave Mar 26, 2016 @ 7:39am
I've subscribed this game and went to the workshop but i cannot click 'drive'
simonmd  [author] Mar 26, 2016 @ 7:33am
Not without more info no, what do you mean you 'cant play it'? It wont load? Shows an error? Crashes the game? Doesnt appear in your list? ........
