Yeah I lost interest in the game many, many moons ago hehe, there were some ideas I wanted to pull off, but the underlying mechanisms didn't quite work the way I thought they did, so I slowly stopped working on it. I also had a few people volunteer to help, but after investing time into getting them up to speed they just vanished, which is less than motivating.

It was a fun project to work for during a time I was away from my main computer and needed a low resource game to fill some time hehe.

I was quite pleased with how well some of the concepts came out though :D

into this mod. A Next Gen era universe,eh? Okay. Probably more interesting that way. Okay,definitely more interesting. This mod could breathe life back into this game. Such complexity. Well,"Good luck",from an old Trekkie.

the faction is technically in the game and has it's own block set, and I also set up 'scale blocks' for the various ship sizes (I think) and i also made an initial ship for them (I think). After that I got a bit bored of the game and stopped designing the ships. Just Klingon and federation have ship sets. (I never got around to doing any kind of block/stat balancing for the factions either. I started on trying to get the punch right for the Feds but never went any further.

last time, i spent 72hours , and successfully made my game going on with 290 mods xD we must be patient and control the log file everytime x)

At line 96 of the audio.lua file you will find this entry. At the bottom it says flasg = cluster delete that line and change the volume to 0.1 and it should be better balanced. I end up running my game volume really low, like 5-20%.

yeah sound balancing in this game was weird from what I remember, messed about with trying to make things louder and quieter with mixed results

DAMN this is a good mod, but the sound of teleporter is FACKING TOO LOUD xD uninstalled your mod after about an hour just for that, but good job anyway

I don't have the time, sorry we already have pulse phasers.

Sorry about your old ships.. it is a flaw of the game design.. any new block addition kills everything...

Ok, Could you make the old phasers and call the "pulse phasers" if you have time? It would be cool and also my older ships will function :D

The new phasers are charging, looks less like phasers than the old ones that look like pulse phasers IMHO. Continous fire mode is not functional, they fire all at once.

federation and klingon are functional (still have active palette ships though as i have not 'used' every piece) the others no. I have built a tier 1 ship for everyone now but none of the blocks have been calibrated for the other factions

Well I had some fun testing a Borg scout sphere, even without proper weapons it ploughed through a prometheus, a galaxy and a starbase before being brought down by a second starbae it was ploughing through with the help of three galaxy and a whole bunch of assorted others!

It's going to be scary when it has proper weapons... andthat is the smallest borg ship I am making... When the cubes are built....yikes.

Hold off on building anything until the next update, if you want to build the Romulans I will add in all the new blocks that I just gave the Fed and Kling. Otherwise you won't have large enough blocks to build with. (Without the large blocks the galaxy hit the block limit!) and the D'deridex is supposed to be 2 to 4 times that! (also any custom ships built before the block additions will break catastrophically as I narrowly avoided!)

I just learned some new tricks for building. In sandbox mode if you type in the command console
'construct (Faction number)' 'construct 21' for example it opens the ship building screen and you can import all that factions ships. (See "Using Ships in Game" just above on how to access the ship blueprints).

Romulans is 23.

The other trick is if you want something to compare to in the constructor. Open up the ship blueprint you want in a text editor, change the faction number at the top to the faction you want (faction = 23) and rename it to that faction (23_Galaxy) then load it in game, in the constructor, select it copy it using C then load up another blueprint (or a new ship) paste it V then you have a ship to work alongside for scale!

I managed to find and fix the problem, it was just one block that got ided as a smaller version. Once I up the ident number by 2 they came back to being more or less what they should be!

Now all I have to do is fix the cosmetic issues that are on the klingon ships and we will be back in business!

I have fixed the federation models but I am not going to lie... that negh is a heavy blow...

2 Options:
1. Rebuild it from scratch
2. Manually decode and reident the blue print to fix the problems...

Neither thought appeals to me...

It's even worse than that.... the Negh Var and klingon station are completely destroyed.... The Negh took forever to build.... I don't know if I can come back from this...

the damage is worse than I thought.... Several ships have the their whole back ends missing... that's depressing

I managed to bork something up in the codea nd now the ships are ,essed up a bit so I will need to try and fix those before I update, hopefully it is not a catastrophic issue...

There is a link to it further up this page. Basically it is a web based editor for working with Reassembly files (or the most important ones at least) click the link up there to open it in your browser then use the blocks section to load the block file and the rest you will be able to fuigre out from there :)

oh damn... I think I may have just realised that there was a much easier way to move the blocks around... I can change the Ident number in RWDK...

if you click on the RWDK link above and open up the blocks file in the mod you can experiment with modifying the block trait values if you want, it is really esy, you can try out a bunch of values to see what feels right. if you find good numbers then I can plug them into my end and save me a bit of fiddle time!

ok so you reckon the issue there is block regen time?

I reckon dropping that down on blocks is something I plan to do I think

I have a plan to manually change the ids on some blocks to hopefully reduce the time it will take to shunt them about

Found a problem. My 3000+ P ship with 5 phasers cant kill one bird of prey. It heals so fast that i cant fire before all the blocks i destroyed are replaced. It takes about 10 phaser shots to drill through the few blocks of armour that it has. It ended up killing me when i had 4 shields.

man it is going to take so many hours to finish this block reordering... there are almost 400 blocks and each one can only be moved one place at a time... So it will be thousands of mouse clicks to finish it, with each one taking about a second to register!

well I just lost about 2 hours work of reordering the files...
