yeah this dosnt work, like at all, unless you want prime meat jerky, then you can place normal cooked meat and it gives you prime meat jerky somehow.
Allmyfood  [author] Mar 16, 2020 @ 12:42pm
In the end it will only produce prime jerky. This was made permanent because trying to change how the default inventory worked kept causing crashes. It hasn't been updated in quite a while, so I will have to go through and give all my Ark mods a bit of cleaning.
TyrianHunter Mar 14, 2020 @ 1:19pm
Have you fixed this so it doesn't just give prime jerky anymore? i know that was an issue in the past :P
Allmyfood  [author] Jan 23, 2019 @ 9:04pm
Updated to work with Extinction.
The Dark Fae Nov 2, 2018 @ 7:44pm
Not seeming to work at all on my single player game. I've placed it fine and everything, and loaded it up with cooked prime, and while one was used as the starting fuel, nothing happened for the remainder. Put in some sparkpowder and oil, and still nothing.
Allmyfood  [author] Jul 7, 2018 @ 3:34pm
I haven’t tested it a while. Where you in Aberration? I am planning on updating all of my mods soon.
ComputerGuy Jul 6, 2018 @ 2:40pm
Won't let me place it at all. I used to use this mod in the past and it worked great. I may have a mod that's conflicting.
Captain Sisay Jan 13, 2018 @ 1:56pm
Kinda sucks this doesnt make normal jerky meat.....
Mizuki 水城 泰士 Apr 8, 2017 @ 3:06pm
No, what I meant was it doesn't let me place it in world at all
Allmyfood  [author] Apr 6, 2017 @ 3:51pm
Just tested the command and it gives the item. As far as placement goes it does have a rotation option, so you have to left click twice. Once for location once for rotation.

Tried cheat and I can't seem to place it?

Definately LOVE this mod! Makes playing on a server with this mod so much more fun!

The whole point of the bug, is up until recently you could stick any and all cooked meats into the dehydrator and it would simply convert them all into Prime Jerky. At the moment it gets stuck in the converting process when Prime meats are mixed with regular versions. It seems to be in part with the way fish meat is inserted into the crafting que. But that will probably be fixed in a future build.
Allmyfood  [author] Nov 12, 2016 @ 12:10pm
That is what it is supposed to do. "Converts meats into Prime Meat Jerky." That being said it does convert all meats into Prime Jerky, regardless of the type of meat prime, regular, or fish versions. The current bug is putting prime meat into a dehydrator that also has regular meats. This will cause the dehydrator to stop converting all forms of Prime meats. But the dehydrator has always converted any type of meat into Prime Jerky for its result. So to keep it making jerky there must be two seperate dehydrators, one for Prime meats one for regular. But they will both produce Prime Jerky, that is what it is supposed to do.
wayne.besaw Nov 11, 2016 @ 5:07pm
We tried having 2 diffrent dehydrators and it only puts out Prime jerky and that is all meats, fish, regualer meat, and prime meat
Allmyfood  [author] Nov 11, 2016 @ 11:59am
The trick is that Arks hard code is actually making it act strange. It is based off of the preserving bin and that seems to have some sort of change to it and how it works with the different meats. It does still convert the Prime meats, but has problems if you mix prime with regular. Running a Prime meat and a separate regular meat dehydrator would work fine. If I find a more suitable fix I will be sure to update it.
wayne.besaw Nov 10, 2016 @ 1:43pm
can u fix the problem like maybe a switch when u holed the "E" key u can selected prime or cooked jerky?
Allmyfood  [author] Aug 3, 2016 @ 6:55pm
That is correct. It has always converted both prime and regular cooked meat into prime jerky. Mostly due to an unusual error that happenes when trying to output the seperate meat types.
Spar Aug 3, 2016 @ 6:06am
This is now giving prime jerky while only using normal cooked meat
Allmyfood  [author] Jun 18, 2016 @ 2:00pm
cheat giveitem "Blueprint'/Game/Mods/Dryer/PrimalItemStructure_Dehydrator.PrimalItemStructure_Dehydrator'" 1 1 0
Thanks to Chips.stoni and stoni2041 for the help getting the code squared away.
Allmyfood  [author] Jun 14, 2016 @ 12:15pm
It has been updated to now dehydrate fish. Ark does not seperate fish or meat it all just becomes jerky. So as usual it makes Prime Jerky of all meats.
4Z4N4E$ May 25, 2016 @ 12:27pm
It does not work.
Removes a cooked meat but does not add Dehydrated.
Do not believe jerky.
painer May 24, 2016 @ 10:13am
it is not stacking the prime jerky, not sure if this is known or not - just making stacks of 1
Ryujin Mar 20, 2016 @ 2:57pm
whats the admin code for this
Allmyfood  [author] Mar 16, 2016 @ 6:14pm
Thanks

Two thumbs up - Until now hadnt found a dehydrator worth using. Kudos
FluffnTough Mar 4, 2016 @ 5:19pm
Hmm. Perhaps make it require electricity?
Allmyfood  [author] Mar 4, 2016 @ 5:05pm
Unfortunately the production speed seems to be hard coded to the Preserving bin. And modifying the Sparkpowder use time / efficiency has no effect. Interesting the oil required seems to be hard coded as well. Although this is bypassed by using the meat itself as fuel. I did try it again just in case, but all it managed was to burn Sparkpowder at an accelerated rate and produce no jerky. But thanks for thinking about other options. I did try quite a few things the first time around. But I’m always open to new ideas.
The DevKit does seem to have some limitations because you can't edit any source code directly.

Could you make it consume sparkpowder like a reg. preserving bin (but with your production speed), see if that works?
Allmyfood  [author] Mar 4, 2016 @ 12:07pm
I was able to set the Dehydrator to use two different fuels and give back two different items. But after the first item is consumed it just stops responding and will not continue using any fuel or giving any produce back. If a single item is used it will produce the correct response without fail. The problem occurs when two different items are used at the same time, which is unacceptable. It should be able to produce the correct item vs the corresponding resource used.
Allmyfood  [author] Mar 4, 2016 @ 12:05pm
Alright I had some time to try and correct the issue of the Dehydrator only being able to produce Prime Jerky. I found that it actually seems to be a bug in Ark in the way different fuel is consumed and then an item is produced. Currently consuming two different fuels results in a max of one item given back otherwise the object will simply stop working. It seems like Ark is confused when trying to give back different objects produced from fuel. The reason the Dehydrator is able to quickly produce Jerky is because it actually burns meat as fuel. Otherwise it would default to a Preserving bin speed. I will continue to check for other solutions for modifying the time it takes for default item to complete its action versus burning fuel.
FluffnTough Mar 3, 2016 @ 7:24pm
Aight, that's cool. I was just wondering.
Allmyfood  [author] Mar 3, 2016 @ 5:58pm
Unfortunately I have not had much time lately. There are only so many hours in a day and work usually takes most of them. I intend to look at it more closely when I get a free weekend.
FluffnTough Mar 3, 2016 @ 2:13pm
You figure out yet how to have it make one or the other and not just prime meat jerky?
Ark'adia Feb 24, 2016 @ 5:25am
Nice mod, very usefull. Thank you! :)
Allmyfood  [author] Feb 22, 2016 @ 10:23pm
Great! Good luck with all your mods.
FatherEnigma305 Feb 22, 2016 @ 8:34pm
Yeah thanks, had to use filezilla to upload the mods to the server. Wasn't to hard.
Allmyfood  [author] Feb 22, 2016 @ 4:45pm
Hmm. It sounds like the mod(s) either didn't fully download or is missing some prerequisite mods. I usually test everything in single player to make sure all the mods downloaded correctly. As far as nitrado I have no experience using them sorry. Best I could say is check the servers Mods folder if you can get access to it. Compare that with a working single player mods folder of the same mods.
FatherEnigma305 Feb 21, 2016 @ 10:37pm
thanks, im having an issue with many mods on my server, i can see the engram, but cant learn them or spawn them. have any suggestions? (i use nitrado to host my server)
Allmyfood  [author] Feb 21, 2016 @ 10:35pm
I put the mod id# in the description. But be sure to test it of course. I have found when adding or removing mods from Ark it will sometimes crash on frist run. You of course can find the mod number if you subscribe to a mod and check which new file appears under you steamapps Ark directory in the mods folder. The mod id#: 610099461
Hope it works well for you.
FatherEnigma305 Feb 21, 2016 @ 10:01pm
Would like to run this on my server, i need the mod number though..
Allmyfood  [author] Feb 21, 2016 @ 2:34pm
Thanks a lot! I will be making a Primitive mod version that, hopefully, will work normally with the different meat types. Currently it will convert both Cooked Meat and Cooked Prime Meat into Prime Jerky. If for some reason it seems like it’s not working then just move the Cooked Meat into slot 1. This sometimes happens with normal Preserving Bins.
At the moment I am working on a mod to cook meat. Should be interesting.
Shane Feb 21, 2016 @ 11:32am
nice mod, for a beginner youre doing a great job, keep it up!
Risinq Feb 21, 2016 @ 11:14am
@Allmyfood why dont use this to Cooked Meat Jerky? :/ this is very sad i search a Mod for my Primitive Server and i have a Stack Size Mod but my Preserving Bin dont work :/ can u this change to Cooked? ^^ or can u make new Mod for Cooked Meat Jerky?
Allmyfood  [author] Feb 20, 2016 @ 10:00pm
It seems to work fine with Stack Plus. Although it breaks the stacks of Prime Jerky up a little strangely. It doesn't seem to have any trouble with running the mod. It shouldn't have any trouble with most mods because it does not change the normal game data.
Luciferial119 Feb 20, 2016 @ 2:45am
Did the mod can use with Stack Plus 1.0?
Allmyfood  [author] Feb 19, 2016 @ 6:15pm
Yes it does only make Prime Jerky it was intended, but only because of problems when I made the mod. Although there isn't really much difference between the two jerkys. I will look at changing this when I can.
misterspence Feb 19, 2016 @ 3:39pm
My dehydrators only make prime jerky
dan796673 Feb 19, 2016 @ 8:04am
Why only high-quality meat
