Such a great simple essential well-thought out mod, appreciate that you have the Dragonborn work for all the improvements so it doesn’t feel OP. Only note on my set up is that I stopped playing with music and so the continual flapping sound from the blinds gets kind of haunting. I turn on the fire to drown it out. Thank you! Still great in 2021!

I still return to see this mod, its a awesome place well done with clever ideas making it a warm place to want to build once again. Thank you:) Share some steam points:)

This is one of the best starter homes out there. Well done! The ONLY thing I would change would be to have an enchanting station. Other than that for a starter home it is awesome. It is very close to the player home that I would like to make myself if I can ever learn the creation kit well enough of find someone I can hire to help me.

Great mod! Customized it with Jaxonz Positioner, and it's the perfect house for my conjurer/necromancer. I especially love the interactive lights/fires and creative storage places (instead of just barrels and sacks etc.).
I am a Dinosaur May 13, 2019 @ 10:18am
This will be great for a necromancer to hide and bring bodies for experiments! Thanks!

Hello Elizabeth, as I told you previously this mod is my personal must have mod for skyrim.
I was excited about the potential conversion to SSE eversince the SSE release. You indicated
in the past that you would look into into the feasability. I realize that something like this takes a lot
of personal time but it is highly appreciated by your mod subscribers.
This is truly the most wonderful mod. Thanks again.

having recently started playing SKSE (skyrim special edition) i have to admit i miss having this amazing mod as it isnt yet avalible on there so wanted to follow up my other coments by asking if a version of this mod will be avalible for SKSE.

also if it will be made avalible will it be compatible with the "frostfall" and "campfire" mods; if it can be it would make a very welcome addition to the over all immersion of those mods due to the survival aspect and the whole re-construction aspect of this otherwise flawless mod.

let me know as i miss this amazing mod and feel the loss everytime i play SKSE

while i love this mod and consider it 1 of the essentiel mods for skyrim there are a few tweaks it could do with to make it shine more. there would be.

1.) replace the chair by the door with the throne by the fire
2.) bigger garden area
3.) small quest and backstory for the cabin which brings in why there is also a small unmarked grave near it
DeGriffin May 10, 2018 @ 7:34am
This Mod is a MUST Have! The best starter home mod the game has to offer! I agree it wouuld be GREAT to see it included in Special Edition - Still, without a doubt one of the best mods ever created - the wash bucket alone, elevates this mod into top ten!

Hi nicola_mcnally, sorry I missed your comment.

Thanks very much! This is the mod I personally use every time I play. It's my daughters' favourite mod as well (they don't actually get to play, just watch sometimes). It took me ages! It will be the first one I transfer to SE.
McDillyDally Apr 6, 2018 @ 3:40pm
Hiya EJH
Just wanted to post to agree with all the positive comments from other people here, I really like this mod. I have been looking for ages for a simple home that you can use right from the beginning of the game and this one is perfect, not too difficult to get for a level 1 character but still requiring a little bit of work and time to completely upgrade.
Thanks again for all your hard work. Thanks! :)

Hi scarlettcarson11,

Thank you for the absolutely lovely compliment. Sorry I missed reading it until now. This is my favourite mod of my own to play. It always fills me will a keen sense of anticipation every time I "discover" the cabin anew. I've recently upgraded my graphics card and can now actually run SE. I will look into what it will take to make the conversion.

as a long time player and absolute fan of all things skyrim i consider this to be 1 of the essenital mods for the game. the total emersion/ feel/ look/ lore frindly aspect of it adds extra texture to the already diverse game and give both a welcome respite and relaxed quest after the frantic mayhem of escaping Helgen. everything included is to be admired and frankly others in the Modding commuinty could learn a lot from having this mod installed. the ONLY negative thing is that sadly there isnt a version for the Special Eddition version of Skyrim and seeing as i consider this mod an Essential Mod for skyrim i wish this was changed or an exact copy made for the SSE. over all verdict 9/10 aka 1 of the few ESSENTIAL mods for skyrim, highly recommended

Hi Wyspr,

Sorry I missed your comment. Yes, there is one glitchy wall still. I need to add a collision box. I will do this eventually...before I put it on Nexus or upgrade to SE (now that I can run SE)
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Dec 13, 2017 @ 11:51pm
Thanks wall socket,

I use it myself every play-through. I just think it's the most fun and satisfying mod I made. Glad you like it too.
wall socket Dec 13, 2017 @ 10:11am
REALLY well done using this one a lot
Wyspr Aug 1, 2017 @ 1:17pm
Have one issue where my companion that lives there doesn't seem to have any specific pathing. He just warps through any of the walls. Any suggestions?
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Jun 20, 2017 @ 8:32pm
Hi -Žužíno -hellcase.cz,
Yes, thanks for asking...go to my profile and look under mods`. I`ve got a handful of other fun house-type mods, and my first Quest mod.
RiotHawk Jun 20, 2017 @ 9:37am
Do you have more mods ? I love this one !
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Jun 20, 2017 @ 9:11am
Hi -Žužíno -hellcase.cz,

Thanks very much! It's my favourite too. I use it for every playthrough. I love to watch the rain.
RiotHawk Jun 19, 2017 @ 1:23pm
This is the best mod i ever instal 10/10 man really good mod even one of the best!
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Jun 11, 2017 @ 11:52am
Hi margaret, glad you're back!

Hope you're feeling better. I've tried to redo the navamesh. Creatures shouldn't fly I the windows anymore. However, I think I still need to put a collision box around the Smithy wall. When I had Brynjolf as a follower, he mannaged to walk through the wall. Creepy!
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Jun 11, 2017 @ 11:49am
Hi Doctor Anime YT,

Unfortunitely the mod really requires Hearthfires and the bench system...I actually did put a bench in the DLC-free Brynjolf mod, so I guess it's possible. But it's definitely a total rebuild to do so. Hearthfires is usually cheap though. And it doesn't need Dawnguard or Dragonborn.
mstassey Jun 10, 2017 @ 2:16pm
Thanks for replying, back from health issues. Will try your mod.
Lady Melunia Jun 8, 2017 @ 9:24pm
Are You Ever Gonna Make A DLC Free version Of This Mod??

BTW, Im Friends With DrazellaSinnanodel
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Jun 4, 2017 @ 6:51am
Hi freault,

You noticed! You're probably the first. My original idea was that you would be led to the cabin by the ghost of a girl child who would then ask you to find her parents. I'd started building caves and everything) I tried and tried, but wasn't advanced enough in my quest making to get the NPC to work properly. However, I've just published my first quest mod, and am working out the awkwardness of mod conflicts, etc. I will have to return it. Thanks for reminding me of this unfinished project. I nearly forgotten.
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Apr 26, 2017 @ 6:55pm
Hi margaret,

I retouched the navamesh, severing it from around the cabin's windowed walls. Though the beasties may still run in the door (acceptable immersion) they should not come in the windows (less acceptable). Hope that helps!
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Apr 24, 2017 @ 11:40pm
Hi margaret

I'm glad you like the mod. It's my favourite for play-through's. I really love watching the rain. Ha..ha..dead deer..The real issue is that I should go back in and tweak the navamesh, making the house an obsticle. Or maybe just add collission boxes, come to think of it. Ah live and learn.

As an aside, I just finished my first quest mod. My aim is to keeps things lore-friendly while fixing the things that bugged me. In this case, it was Brynjolf in the Thieves Guild and his 'Not now Lass... (even worse than Nazeem). Anyway, I gave him ... must be more than a hundred lines of dialogue, re-cut from the original. If you like his brogue, try it out and let me know what you think. Same detail as the cabin.
mstassey Apr 20, 2017 @ 1:48pm
This mod has really improved my experience. I am an old player looking for different ways of living in Skyrim. I like the way the building is spread out over time. An elk got in and when I shot him he died on my bed. Getting in bed with the corpse was....odd. I understand Morwania's request about that window because a wolf was trying to bite me throught it. I love it and thankks a million for sharing it.
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Mar 12, 2017 @ 3:17pm
HI Morwania, Just as I wrote to you in COT...Can you give me a good arguement as to how you'd get a glazier up to a cabin...
Morwania Mar 5, 2017 @ 10:05am
could you please add some glass to the open window in the enchanting room?
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Feb 6, 2017 @ 6:27pm
Hi frealt...I'll try!
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Feb 5, 2017 @ 12:26am
No more rain!
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Dec 31, 2016 @ 7:27pm
Hi freault,

I know! Isn't it wierd? It's a small error really. The navamesh is continuous and the animals don't know the house is there. At some point I need to redo the navamesh and make the house and island. You're the first one who has commented..It's on the to-do list... Happy New Year!
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Nov 28, 2016 @ 9:07pm
Hi jumarbye,

Glad you like it! I think this one is my favourite to play too. My daughter ( too young to actually get to play) loves Skyrim and gave me several ideas for the Breezehome mod...playing in front of your kids is funny, eh?
jumarbye Nov 27, 2016 @ 8:44pm
I downloaded this awhile ago, but because of modding issues and having a terrible computer, I haven't been actually able to play Skyrim until recently. :) Just wanted to tell you I love your little cabin! And my daughter, who is hard to impress, thought it is great, too. Love the buildable aspect of, it's very immersive.
Thank you for sharing your work!
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Nov 26, 2016 @ 6:13pm
Hi 2sig,

Thanks! Glad you like it: it's always my first abode. I'd love to upgrade the mod, but my computer's croaking under SE. I haven't even made it through the intro. :steamfacepalm: I need to replace it, but it may take a while..
2sig Nov 23, 2016 @ 9:50am
Hi Elizabeth. Love your Summerset Cottage (Throne) mod !!!!!!
any plans to upgrade it to skyrim special edition ?
Hope so, because it is this mod that makes skyrim truly playable
and enjoyable. Thanks
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Nov 14, 2016 @ 6:06pm
Hi freault, we need a waterfall here!
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Nov 11, 2016 @ 10:29am
Hi everyone,

Just made a little addition - a Player request that made a lot of sense. There is now a stone 'crucible' (a.k.a. a smelter) by the firepit to help in your initial build. Mine for ore...and smelt-away! This should allow you to accomplish the initial build with materials at hand.
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Oct 5, 2016 @ 12:41pm
Thanks mica608,

I'm glad you like it. I love this place too ( and purposely didn't build any other beds for the same reason). I just wish I had one IRL.
DeGriffin Oct 3, 2016 @ 5:34am
VERY NICE! Reminds me of 'Build you own home' mod! Nice work author.... nice little home to get away from family and toils of being dragonborn for a while.... :)
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Aug 14, 2016 @ 8:02pm
Hi freault,

No, not at all. You may have to leave the load area and re-enter, but that's nothing more than your next adventure or trip to the store.
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Aug 14, 2016 @ 12:05pm
Hi freault,

Finding the bugs is very helpful, if done with tact. And you're always tactful :)
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Aug 14, 2016 @ 10:54am
Hi freault,

Sure enough, there were two items on the Mara shrine that were not static. I've corrected that. Thanks for telling me! Also, I added the smoke to the chimney. It was missing in this version. Thanks for that too. And I shifted the Throne slightly so a follower would get behind it.
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Aug 14, 2016 @ 9:32am
Hi freault,

I'll go in and look....
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Aug 14, 2016 @ 9:31am
litlbummer,

Thanks for trying the mod. Thanks for the feed-back regarding the chair; I'll look into this. And what can I say, the construction time is a feature, not a bug.
litlbummer Aug 12, 2016 @ 11:04am
I thought this looked pretty awesome, so I had to try it out. Few problems I came across, first is a deal breaker and why I unsub'd, the in game time lost during construction, it took over 6 days straight thru, yes, I get the realism aspect, but not for me. Second the big chair was a little to close to the wall, my follower kept trying to walk between the chair and wall and kept getting stuck (love Skyrim A.I. or rather the lack of I.) The location is perfect, and the personal creation is always nice. If ever you make one like this that removes the in game week lost, I will jump on it in a heartbeat. Thumbs up, great mod, I will check out some of your other work soon.
elizabethjacksonhall  [author] Aug 11, 2016 @ 8:18pm
Hi JoziJaxx,

Thanks so much! This one was a labour of love; I hate load doors and watching the rain fall is magical. Glad you like it.:steamhappy:
JoziJaxx Aug 10, 2016 @ 11:49pm
