The rest is fine! But Khopesh ... (My problem is also that I never use "anti-horse-units" - useless because of the upgrades (Lancier and later))

Khopesh - for what? I can't upgrade him and he is at the latest in renaissance to weak. So he is a useless UU ....

I need some help. I'm playing a 16 player game on a huge map and every time Egypt tries to create a Khopesh, the game crashes completely. I tried removing the Khopesh with the ingame editor but that also crashes the game. How do you guys get this mod to work properly? Does it work with other mods? Please help someone.

Every time my workers build obelisk they don’t actually spawn and I don’t get the bonuses from it
JEELEN Jul 28, 2017 @ 10:53am
@JFD According to Civpedia the Kopesh becomes obsolete with Pikeman. No upgrade mentioned or available.

I really like this mod and the idea behind it. Only thing that bothers is that it does not work well with the Emigration mod: both use the same part of the citizen screen of the city view, Emigration for the propsperity/ days until migration, and this mod for the hymns. When combined, it becomes messy. Is there an easy fix for this (like adjusting the offsetting in one of the files)?

Thanks, Now I can finally prosterylize about Atem to the fullest extent.
JFD  [author] Sep 4, 2016 @ 11:17am
@Silverfishv9 You can use E&D with only Decisions active. The E&D homepage on CivFanatics should have instructions on how to disable its events system.
Silverfishv9 Sep 4, 2016 @ 11:07am
So this is a stupid question but: Since community patch has an events system which doesn't seem to play well with sukitract's, how do I use the CP and access civ decisions like this one's at the same time now?

@Buster Mcnasty Gaming The only reason this mod was made was because of how Akenaten was the odd ball of Egypt making Atenism the religion. I'd like to think of it like this-
Top 4 Egyptian Pharaohs that most people heard of:
1. King Tut
2. Cleopatra
3. Hatshepsut
4. Akhenaten

Well to be fair, we dont really know for sure what the vowels were in names in Egypt, since the Hieroglyphics only depict consonants (if they depict any pronounciation at all).
For example, the well known sun god Ra (or Re), his written name also has no information about the vowel, only the R sound.
So for all intents and purposes, anything is correct, Re, Ra, Ru, Ro, Ri. :)

Just thought i might really quickly point out that Akenaton spelled with an "O" instead of an "E" was one of Egypt's worst leaders. Of course, he did make major religeous reforms (hence "aton" being in his name) but he brought down the Egyptian Empire more than brought up. His foreign policy sucked, and his switching places of the gods Amun and Aton was very contraversial. But, it is hard coming into power immediatly after Egypt's most capable military leader Thutmose the Third. But, I must point out that this isn't to ridicule the mod. The mod is awsome, even if Akenaton was not exactly Egypt's best Pharoh! :)

This is a really fun mod. Just one thing, though: in the Civilopedia, the desrciption of the khopesh says that it doesnt't have the spearman's bonus against mounted, but it actually does. Is this WAD?
Anon_2 Oct 22, 2015 @ 6:10am
I've really enjoyed this. You make great mods. One thing: It is possible to build an obelisk on a hidden resource. As an example, I built an obelisk before researching animal husbandry and then later had the obelisk, horses, and wheat all appearing on the same tile. BTW, I've had no problems running this mod. I have BNW, and am playing at the prince level, using a standard sized map, and the only mods loaded are this one, E&D, and Historical Religions Complete.
dhammer_911 Oct 18, 2015 @ 5:31pm
Been waiting for this mod, but I guess I'll wait a little longer. BTW, I have a few fantasy civs/units I'd like to see done. I've had no luck doing them myself, so I'd be willing to pay someone to develop them, if anyone is interested.
Jecht Oct 17, 2015 @ 7:22pm
I like this civ, and your others as well, but the wheat thing doesn't seem to work, and I have no idea where to find these hymns verses. It tells me I get them when a great prophet is born, but I can't find them.
jitter Oct 12, 2015 @ 9:47am
this civ can get a ridiculously huge amount of food production in the capital. started a game on plains next to citrus, built 12(!!!) obelisks (spawn wheat when you have all 4 verses), and built ToA and HG. my pop was 35 when everyone else was around 10 and growth was still at +144 food. btw, each verse is giving +10% food, not growth.
Dewmeister Oct 7, 2015 @ 9:03pm
whats and obelisk again, i remember the name from Indiana Jones or Assassins Creed or something
JEELEN Sep 30, 2015 @ 8:04am
@JFD I'm past turn 300 and no Wheat has spawned from any obelisk.
JEELEN Sep 30, 2015 @ 12:52am
@JFD Oh kay. Also, my Kopesh doesn't upgrade to Pikeman.
JFD  [author] Sep 29, 2015 @ 11:31pm
@JEELEN They do, it's just that Firaxis' calculation of pressure is really messed up; convoluted and obtuse.
JEELEN Sep 29, 2015 @ 11:18pm
@JFD The Great Hymn verses don't actually add religious pressure: I have 2 now and religious pressure is still at 20 as normal.
alpha2117 Sep 26, 2015 @ 11:54pm
I was able to remove but couldn't seem to add to a new city. You may want to mention the first 4 prophets in the text as it says "whenever a great prophet is born" because I had Mt Sinai close enough for my 2nd city I set up my tactics on the assumption that I should angle to get as many great prophets as I could and made my holy city the 2nd city thinking I could get more than 4 verses. It's still fun and the verses, obelisk and khopesh all look beautiful but that text is a tad misleading. By the by I'm playing a 22 civ game with the other race for the Nile civs, Sabean, Philistine, Solomons Isreal & David's Isreal, Ethiopia, the various later Egypt mods like the ones with Saladin and everything all seems to work fine. The race is a great idea and you all should be commended for the high concept mods.
JFD  [author] Sep 26, 2015 @ 5:35pm
@alpha2177 There are max 4 verses. You should be able to remove a verse from your capital by left-clicking, and then you can add it to another city. Obelisks cannot be built on resources, so as to make room for the Wheat.
alpha2117 Sep 26, 2015 @ 5:24pm
Slight annoyance it seems that the first 4 verses go to your capitol - you cant move them elsewhere so if you make your 2nd city your holy city you dont seem to have the option to move them there. Also after the 4th verse it doesn't seem to create new verses to go to cities other than your capitol. The Obelisks look nice as does the Khopesh. Obelisks dont appear to be able to be built on visible resources but do add Wheat succesfully. The verses look great in your city view and are nice reads when you click on them. So with a few minor tweaks this will be fantastic and relatively unique but right now it's sligtly annoying after the 4th verse and if you dont want your capitol as your holy city. For a initial release it's conceptually fantastic and thanks for the effort.

I can't upgrade the UU into the pikeman despite the fact that I have the appropriate technology.
MarathonManMVP Sep 22, 2015 @ 6:24pm
You're god can't save you from that face.
Nediak Sep 22, 2015 @ 3:48pm
you can't replace the obelisks
Sgt42donuts Sep 22, 2015 @ 12:03pm
How does the Hymn function in this mod work? And also, how does the wheat thing with the obelisk work? If I have 6 obelisks around a city, will I get 6 sources of wheat?
TomNoSocks Sep 22, 2015 @ 8:05am
@JFD Cool, looking forward to it :D really great mod collection so far though, love your work <3
JFD  [author] Sep 21, 2015 @ 4:27pm
@CookieSprinklez Another modder is looking at doing a Mohammad Ali civ.
TomNoSocks Sep 21, 2015 @ 3:19pm
idk if you have too many so far, but maybe, if you were thinking of any more egypt things, you could look at a more modern egypt civ. maybe under someone like muhammed ali (not the wrestler, the wali), coming into the 1830's-40's. not a request, just an idea if you needed any :D Great Job so far by the way, already started an egypt only playthrough ;3
