Really? It's so awful compared to my current skills lol. I'm glad you like it, I am almost done with a renovation of the map. I will check and see if it's complete enough to share. I totally forgot about it.

The other thing to look at is, with over 50,000 items in the workshop, and growing daily, we will have to unsubscribe from some buildings eventually, if we see new ones coming in that we really want. As you get higher into the number of custom buildings, you reach the limit, so at some point we will have to go through that. So that's my thoughts on it, but that's a good point to be sure

LOL XD Well that's okay, you placed it somewhere where you'll get a (hopefully decent) answer! So the game developers will issue *their' buildings with a new texture for nighttime lights as you know. But the modding and custom 3d modelling community produces a lot of items for us, too. There are many creators who will go back, add the right parts that are needed, and you will get an automatic download of the new, changed building as soon as you sign back in to Steam. I think a lot of people will do this, unless they have stopped playing the game. Absurdly long comment to be continued

srry tht has nothing to do with the map i just couldnt find anywhere else to put it
ZanderTheMander Sep 11, 2015 @ 4:44pm
so whats gonna happen with our assets that arent made for night time when after dark comes out. the lights wont turn on? ill have to delete every asset i have just because the people who made this game didnt make it with a day/night cycle to begin with

(the docks are in the title picture)

Just look at what you helped me create, kurtus_mob! Your image with the docks inspired this, and I wnat to thank you for the great idea! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=513057446

Sure, just type [GROW] in the research field, it's a large collection by axel.kiebooms. You can find the pied under "modular dock" or something. Keep up the good work dude.

WHAT?? Those neighborhoods look right out of the Mediterranean. I must have those buildings (is it a theme?) and those piers are so cool! Can you direct me to them? Was actually searching for this sort of thing today.

Hey MrMiyagi. Outstanding work as usual, I'm forced to recognize that I love your maps =)
My brand new city.
This one will not be in the contest, obviously.

Ahhh - I haven't really messed around with standard biome LUT's. Just been using custom ones like VIVID, SuperVibrant, and Clarity. Thanks for the tip - will have to try mixing those stock LUT's with different map types when I get home tonight. :) Another great map! Thoroughly love New Caldeonia and keep up your amazing work!

Hey Sacha! I'll be getting you some screenshots to post on your Montreal in Fall map posting, by the way.
Thanks templeofdoom! The photos are *all* standard game (no mods!). Turns out that the European light filter looks really good on the tropical theme. Makes the water bluer, greens deeper... everything less yellow. I also covered almost all the (moderately unattractive) purple cliffsides with dense jungle forests. Makes it look much better I think.
The moving sun will be in the update we will all get for free, as a part of the After Dark DLC. Lots of buzz and information about it to be found on their FB page.
templeofdoom Aug 28, 2015 @ 2:57pm
MrMiyagi - great work! Are you using a water color replacer/texture or is it just lighting using the MovingSun mod?
sacha_devries Aug 28, 2015 @ 2:43pm
looks awesome! Ill have to download this and try it out!
