These are all ideas I just came up with on the spot so...
But then there is the fact that just like most other games that contain cases, there will be some lucky kids that obtain like the rarest drops constantly whereas others end up with some crappy Grey Longsleeve Shirt etc.
I think, that they should base it off of hours, the longer you play the game, the higher chance you have of receiving a better skin.
To be fair I think they pay most attention to their own forums, then the sub reddit and lastly, these kinda steam workshop comments.
You could always make a suggestion thread on the forums or subreddit to draw some attention, whether or not that's how they want to do the skins is up to them. They haven't even finalised the way skins work at the moment from what I know. I think they want to make it all drops and no purchase, but still marketable?
Haha yeah, the Dev's of this game don't really seem to take notice of the community, instead, they focus on heavily moderating the website (instead of the game, whut?) and doing absolutely nil that the community actually choose.
Where are the devs when you need to pitch an idea to them. Hahaha
All I know about the implementation is that it's going to be changed, gun skins might not ever make it in. Maybe all skins will be drops and none of them purchasble but only marketable?
My main issue with the cs:go system is the unlocking of the boxes which creates the rarity of certain items over others.
Ultimately, maybe everyone just needs to have some faith in the devs. Surely they won't accept all the skins, in a way even this one is borderline (I'm planning to make it more rusty/damaged, but wondering if the new 'quality decay' effect also works on guns?)
I like to hear these opinions though, I want to make good items either fun/roleplaying or lore-friendly/survival.

the way i would like to see weapons skins implemented was if you could find them in rad towns and unsellable in the market that way having a custom skin/s becomes much more then just a custom skin/s
That said, I understand where you're coming from, I don't even like the inclusion of military grade guns in Rust, and I hope that the weapon skins aren't made a focal point of the game or even given any special treatment.
im fine with clothes because some really good items can be created
You guys keep complaining, I want to know why.
rust DOES NOT need WEAPON SKINS
