Any way to shorten this mod? 300 extra turns is a bit much for me....
jonathanlingle Nov 15, 2022 @ 1:34pm
Love this MOD - would love to play it multiplayer but can't seem to find a way
Novu  [author] Sep 12, 2022 @ 7:01pm
Might have something to do with mounted scouts being upgraded to explorers. It can sometimes cause a crash. Try using the manual install to fix.
Zlevs Sep 12, 2022 @ 6:32pm
Hmm, I like the mod, but the game eventually crashes around the Medieval era. I don't have any other mods that would cause it. Any way to fix this?
Suebian Aug 17, 2022 @ 6:32pm
this is a great mod, but you should remove the nudity alltogether so it can be played by everyone including religious people
Novu  [author] Nov 19, 2021 @ 11:06pm
I do not use EUI.
Divergent Nov 19, 2021 @ 10:25pm
OK, I have just tried it with Directx 9 and I still get the CTD. Are you using EUI?
Novu  [author] Nov 19, 2021 @ 9:25pm
This mod was originally built with a Windows Vista OS using Directx 9. Running Windows 10 now with no crashing on Directx 9.

I have also tried produving new Mounted Explorers, instead of upgrading my Scouts, but I also get a CTD. Is there any chance this could be OS or DirectX related? I use Win8.1 with DirectX 11.
Novu  [author] Nov 19, 2021 @ 8:53pm
I have no idea why some people get this bug and others don't. I have upgraded scouts and did not get a crash to desktop.
Divergent Nov 19, 2021 @ 8:43pm
I also get a CTD in every game I try to upgrade a Scout to a Mounted Explorer, after researching Horseback Riding. I have EUI v1.28g (from VP) and use the following mods with this mod: Bronze Age units, Hattusa wonder, Gobleki Tepe wonder, Really Advanced Setup, and Wonder Race.
Novu  [author] Sep 11, 2021 @ 5:42am
This mod shouldn't crash at the start of the ancient era unless you are using some other conflicting mod that alters the tech tree.
malcolmrutledge Sep 10, 2021 @ 11:50pm
I get a CTD at some point after entering the ancient era.
Reloading from previous saves just allows me to play up to the same point, then CTD.
Originally happened with a previous version. I assumed it would be fixed this time. Nope.
It's a shame because I was enjoying the mod.
ResistanceLion May 29, 2021 @ 5:06pm
Well, great mod.
Except for some historical nuances
prince.phoenix Apr 23, 2021 @ 5:31pm
I feel dumb. Thanks for the quick answer!
Novu  [author] Apr 23, 2021 @ 5:20pm
Prehistoric settlers cannot be purchased or grown from population. You gain 1 prehistoric settler for building the chieftains hut and another settler for completing the campfire. This is working as intended so the AI doesn't spam cities in the prehistoric era. You are limited to 3 cities in the prehistoric era unless you sack someone else's city. Regular settlers are unlocked after researching pottery.
prince.phoenix Apr 23, 2021 @ 5:03pm
I don't know why, but it seems I cannot produce Prehistoric Settlers, even if I have the tech (starting with it) and more than 1 pop. Can't buy it neither :(.
Collective rules still give me a normal Settler...but no trace of way to build Prehistoric Settlers yet.
At turn 347 (5590 BC, playing marathon), a Prehistoric Settler pops up for no reason in my capital (I just built the Tribe's Campfire there).
After wandering with my Kon Tiki Raft, I see that a lone City-State (Antananarivo) on a small continent has a Prehistoric Settler...Halp!
(sorry for the repetition from Discussion section)
GobStopper Mar 1, 2021 @ 2:28pm
So apparently the mod does download, but it never gets extracted as the .civ5mod archive file can be found in the civ 5 mod folder within your documents folder. Also it's an older version, so it's best to manually download it anyway
Annonymouse Feb 18, 2021 @ 9:56am
@Vikingr have you tried the manual download?
Brotherhood Feb 18, 2021 @ 8:55am
it seems all these prehistoric mods are having problems for me, this one doesn't show up in my mod list, the original has its problems, and Dawn of Mankind has a wierd time issue for me where im in the classical period and its the year 2050
Accolyptus Feb 9, 2021 @ 9:21am
Great content ! :lunar2019smilingpig:
Nex Jul 7, 2020 @ 6:33pm
@no @Mr_Annonymouse Maybe this might work, but it is quite a bit complicated. https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/adding-an-era-using-relative-techniques.559125/
Zersetzung Jul 3, 2020 @ 7:54pm
also why do riflemen require flint when flintlocks went out of style sooner then smoothbore rifles did
Zersetzung Jul 3, 2020 @ 7:47pm
is there a reason that flint wont show up on the map and I cant build musketmen later in the game
Zersetzung Jul 3, 2020 @ 2:56pm
is there anything that I can do to make the patch work with the 3 current up to date future worlds, enlightenment era, and prehistoric mods?
Annonymouse Jun 12, 2020 @ 8:03am
@Novu thanks for the response, though I unfortunately still am having no luck. Am using "Dawn of Mankind" instead for now, which seems to be fairly similar, although it has no compatability with Future worlds :(
Novu  [author] Jun 11, 2020 @ 7:29pm
Make sure the Mod contents are not double nested. Sometimes the extractor will create two folders. One inside the other. The game will only search one folder deep when looking for Mods in the mods folder.
Annonymouse Jun 8, 2020 @ 11:11pm
@Unoriginallity Thanks for the response, will try that next time I play.
Nex Jun 8, 2020 @ 4:34pm
@Mr_Annonymouse Not sure what you could do other than doing a reinstall of the game (uninstalling the game from Steam and deleting the game folder from Documents.
Annonymouse Jun 7, 2020 @ 11:56pm
Am having issues, the Mod isn't showing up in my mods list in-game. Was unable to download from steam, so I used the version off of Civfanatics. Extracted the contents into the 'MODS' folder. Also cleared the cache, still didn't work. The mod folder shows up in the 'MODS' folder, but not in the in-game mods list. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Polosolo Apr 15, 2020 @ 10:56pm
well it said only use that with all 3 and i tried using it with all 3 and it definitely did not work

Thanks for the reply though
Novu  [author] Apr 15, 2020 @ 10:25pm
Short answer NO. Future worlds is not compatible with Prehistoric era reborn. Long answer maybe: Try using this compatibility patch. It may or may not work https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/prehistoric-enlighment-fw-compatibility-patch.614195/

Some people have had success with it. But it is kind of a use at your own risk kind of thing.
Polosolo Apr 15, 2020 @ 9:31pm
@Novu OK thanks. Sorry I was not aware of that.
So what is the consensus on future world? should it be completely compatible?

I ask this because I am getting crashes at a certain turn that I wish to diagnose. Any help would be great, thanks!
Novu  [author] Apr 13, 2020 @ 12:31pm
The campfire national wonder also gives a free settler. All civs should get 3 cities fairly early and a 4th by going Liberty policy.
Polosolo Apr 12, 2020 @ 1:24am
*edit I forgot to mention I DID have future worlds installed, but i forgot because I already dismissed it as being compatible; there are no other issues, and I never saw said issue as relating to future worlds, but I guess it must if there isn't any other explanation
Polosolo Apr 12, 2020 @ 1:20am
well I was on prince and, the civ with 4 settlements did have 4 liberty policies, but along with the chieftain hut, that would only explain 3 of his cities. Additionally, another civ had 3 who did not have any liberty polices
Novu  [author] Apr 11, 2020 @ 6:36am
Harder difficulties such as KING, Emperor, etc give tech bonuses to AI civs so they can build the chieftain hut sooner. Attacking city states or each other can allow them to get extra cities. There is a BUG with custom civs installed after Prehistoric Era but it can be fixed by deleting this mod and doing a manual reinstall.
Polosolo Apr 9, 2020 @ 1:16am
have an issue where civs seem to be able to settle before me; at first I thought it was just chieftan's hut, but a couple of them have FOUR settlements, and before you say maybe they are technologically ahead, that is impossible, because throughout the game I have had the highest population civ; in addition to rushing the sky god totem. There is no way they had more science than me, or had enough science to beeline to pottery. It HAS to be a bug.

@neshi4581

The fix you mentioned only worked for two turns or so, then my game crashed. Are any of the three mods incompatible with Vox Populi?
aradgula Nov 28, 2019 @ 10:56am
I sent a friend request to you, please accept.
neshi4581 Oct 23, 2019 @ 7:34am
This patch seem not to care if you don't have the name of the mod with a version at the end but it does care if you have the full mod name whether it has () and/or not. So if you look let me know if this fully works. It seems to fully work for multiple mods that didn't work before when you combine the patch with the 2 other mods for tech in Enlightment and Future Worlds.

Let me know if you got any questions.

Try using this compatibility patch. It may or may not work https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/prehistoric-enlighment-fw-compatibility-patch.614195/

I found a way to make this patch work beyond combining two mods that don't work together.

I looked into the folder of this patch under the file of Prehistoric Enlightment Compatibility Patch that is the same name as the folder. Then, I edited in notepad here is the edit:

Novu  [author] Oct 11, 2019 @ 5:42pm
Did you use the winrar extractor to unpack the files when doing the manual download? https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/425941828286157293/94C726421F38D77A42C274C206E41415AD0F44C9/
folvenson Oct 11, 2019 @ 7:25am
I have all the official DLC, I tried downloading it manually and even gave the download it's own folder where my mods are found. This is only the second game I have tried using mods with so I honestly don't know what I should do with the manual download.
Novu  [author] Oct 10, 2019 @ 4:00am
Try doing the manual download. Just hitting subscribe often won't work. Also requires DLC "Gods and Kings," Brave New World, and Polynesia.
folvenson Oct 9, 2019 @ 8:33pm
I enjoy the prehistoric mod, but this one is not working for me, can anyone offer me any advice on how to fix that?
Daqidius Sep 3, 2019 @ 3:45am
Hello, i have been using one mode which removes AI extra units and starting free techs (thus allowing to play on higher diff.) but this does not work anymore with your mod. AI starts with complex tools and Fire and cavemens
Novu  [author] Aug 27, 2019 @ 11:21am
You may have a conflicting mod or have too many versions of Prehistoric Era Reborn. Unsubscribe and Delete all the old versions. Then try downloading this one. I tested it just this morning and it works.
