its not an archive . just copy file into data folder as instructed above, its a mod pack file

your blood and dust D/L file is corrupt: "cannot open file as archive".

All three mods target the same aspect of the game: the graphics. Therefore, the first mod will be prioritized, and if it is missing certain components, such as the sky, the other mods in the 'launcher mod order' will add those missing elements. In this case, only the sky from the other mods will appear on your screen. In short, everything depends on the order in which the mods are arranged. If all three mods include a sky, you will only see the sky from the first mod in the game. At least, Orbis Terrarum does.

@Overrider Both works for DEI, whether with or without it. The other one that mentioned DEI has a darker atmosphere on the campaign map.

There is another version of this mod called ''DEI ....'' . Is this one for non DEI and the other works only with DEI ? Thanks

I bet that you touched again the graphics settings in game, after you started using this mod.
That's a big NO!

Again, you must select your graphics settings in vanilla, and if you are using this mod, than never touch those settings again, only in vanilla!


If you wonder why this is happening, it's a normal thing for this mod, because usses some fxc files/dx11 from new total war games, and when we start the game using this new dx11 files, but keep altering the game graphic settings after, we will broke them and give you a black screen

It is still black... i did as you said, i play with dei and this mod and a 2 units mods. This is so weird never happend to me before in other total war games...

@Ess you must choose your game settings in Rome 2, without any mod activated, then you pick graphical mods, and don't touch game graphics settings at all

If you dont mind me asking, i just played and my entire map/battle map got completly black/dark? you know how to fix this in anyway?

should i place it over or under dei mods?

@JeanSmasher Hi bro, i sent you a friendrequest because i have the same problem you had that my whole battle map ist gray/black so i cant see the troops. I see you were able to solve the problem. Could you send me a screenshot of your graphics settings? Maybe it will help me too :)

I made some adjustments to the graphics settings in the game and I haven't had the problem again, I don't know what setting I changed but it worked

I think I had a similar problem long time ago, on an old video card. Dunno what to say so you can proper fix it, but if I was in your place, i'll start to find the culprit eliminating solutions one by one, starting with the most comun one:

-See if you have all drivers update (it may help..or not)

-Verify integrity of game files

-Check to see inside the game "Data" folder if you don't have one of those mods type "movie", like my own "Bloodbath" mod(and remove it)

-Ultimately, remove mod by mod and do some test battles until you see some improvement

I don't know if the DEI has anything to do with it, because it also happens with the version for the DEI.

I have the problem that sometimes, and it only happens when I go to fight a battle, the entire map appears on the ground as a grayish black and the sky as bright white, there are no colors even though they appear in the shape of the objects on the map, and it only happens sometimes when I go to battle, and when it ends the entire map looks the same, on the other hand great mod

Well, since Orbis Terrarum it was posted 5 yrs after this mod, it's fair to say , that mod try to achive with 3.2 gb what this mod already did with less then 1gb.

In a way, they are the same, so I recommend you to use only one of them. Test them, and see who fits you better, also use a fps counter

Is this compatible with Orbis Terrarium? or is it trying to achieve the same thing?

Turning off the "run movie" in the mod options reverted the square particle effect for me.

its a bug from nvidia..so far , nothing can be done since almost 2 yrs by now 😕

Update: Unit dust effects are perfect, but I've discovered a few "graphical artifacts" that look like squares with fire and certain dust effects on sand maps. It's a shame, but they're also not too obtrusive. I'm not technical enough to diagnose the cause.

This mod is freaking awesome. I needs more visibility imo. The dust is perfection! I prefer it more than the might effects mod (it looks much more realistic). Don't forget to enable video mods in the game's mod settings menu. Also follow the instructions and just copy/paste that file in the Rome 2 data folder, easy!

Amazing mod, only complaint is that it says DEI on the title screen for whatever reason

@Big Bear Bardiche I have an nvidia vc and i start to see them no matter what I did to "fix" through my mod... In the end I removed the mods, and i can still see them...on Vanilla.

The squares are because of a nvidia geforce driver update, but i guess nobody knows why or can fix it.

Your graphics mod for DEI is fantastic, adding atmosphere and immersion :-)

I am thinking of giving the 1100AD mod a try.

Hello author, mod is great! But can't do ambush, every time into ambush to read the game will crash, hit the DB type mod.
