From the top of my head: Open the github and download the files. Change version number to 1.19 in the .mod file, and see if it runs without any other changes.

GOD SAVE THE TEA Jun 10, 2019 @ 11:58am

Ifer  [author] Jan 13, 2018 @ 4:13am
It really isn't hard to take what I've made and update it. Feel free to update and improve it!
Frank Jan 11, 2018 @ 12:47pm
This is so sad.
Ifer  [author] Dec 21, 2016 @ 5:38am
I have no plans to update this mod, but feel free to use my code.
CHURCH96 Dec 18, 2016 @ 7:19pm
I'd really like to see this brought back to life
Dec 9, 2015 @ 5:50am
Do you have any plans to update this mod?
Ifer  [author] Aug 23, 2015 @ 11:10pm
Becaise those are in the base game and I didn't bother to make sense of anglicised and localised names.
Amiral Ackbar Aug 21, 2015 @ 2:27am
great mod but why "french quebec" in english & "nouvelles flandres" and "nouvelle écosse" in english ?
Ifer  [author] Jun 30, 2015 @ 11:31pm
I've reuploaded it... It works on my end, but steam workshop has messed with the files before.
comake Jun 25, 2015 @ 4:53am
latest version is collapsed.
please fix text in 00_colonial_regions.
Ifer  [author] Jun 11, 2015 @ 6:27am
Good call, Rein. It's in the mod description now. (a bit shortened - you don't need the steam workshop info to run the game)
DirectorRein Jun 11, 2015 @ 4:43am
the mod downloads fine, but is having the same glitch as so many others right now. the colonial_nation_names.mod file is completely empty, meaning the launcher cannot detect the mod. this can be easily fixed on the users end, if the mod maker posts for us the entire contents of the colonial_nation_names.mod file for us to copy and past.
Sp00n.exe May 17, 2015 @ 12:55pm
OH MY GOD YES.

THE HANSA WILL FINALLY STOP MAKING RETARDED NAMES
Syrello Mar 22, 2015 @ 6:21pm
Yeah, it was only one time.
youthinkforever Mar 21, 2015 @ 12:41pm
Hey Ifer, have you thought about adding compatability with Complete Map Mod?
Ifer  [author] Mar 16, 2015 @ 5:14am
That's entirely possible. You're lucky though! It's a little more likely with my mod.
Syrello Mar 14, 2015 @ 2:10pm
I've seen Nouvelle Flandre ingame before.
Eslavh Mar 3, 2015 @ 12:47pm
oh im sorry. i should've looked at my other mods first. yeah when i saw the file i was like, "oops. worng mod." i figured out the problem. thx anyways.
Ifer  [author] Mar 2, 2015 @ 11:14pm
Unsurprisingly, the file is called colonial_nation_names
Eslavh Mar 2, 2015 @ 12:58pm
what is it called then
Ifer  [author] Mar 2, 2015 @ 12:09am
I'll update it later today or tomorrow; it needs a little more compatching than changing the version number. and no, it is not called f62 empire.
Eslavh Mar 1, 2015 @ 5:12pm
The problem is I cannot delete the file. I have unsubed and deleted the file, but when I start-up the game again, it comes back.
Eslavh Mar 1, 2015 @ 5:11pm
Im sorry, I mean F62 empire
Eslavh Mar 1, 2015 @ 5:10pm
Is the file name called f6 Empires, because it keeps crashing my game.
ParadoxicalOutcome Mar 1, 2015 @ 4:31am
Will you update this or would it work if I just changed supported version to 1.10 in the mod file?
RewolutionX Feb 27, 2015 @ 1:48am
does this mod work on 1.10 version?
Ifer  [author] Feb 23, 2015 @ 12:48am
Righyright. I've listed them.
Nathan Higgers Feb 22, 2015 @ 11:40am
work with Ironman?
ParadoxicalOutcome Feb 21, 2015 @ 3:11am
Can you add a list of all the names it adds onto the description? Right now it's justa bit vague and I don't want to go through 20 campagins just to see what it adds.
Worukan Feb 20, 2015 @ 11:01pm
Would be really nice if the description showed what was added... Just sayin'.
what are ya a cop Feb 20, 2015 @ 1:08pm
can you create a list o fall these new names?
Nobleknight747 Feb 20, 2015 @ 12:35pm
@luca.tiburzi01 not the names of colonial nations formed by the AI
OceanFlex Feb 20, 2015 @ 11:27am
ironman?
Luca29 Feb 20, 2015 @ 8:45am
Sorrry, but in game you can change the name of colonial nation. :/
SolGuardian Feb 20, 2015 @ 4:54am
I sort of wish colonial nations would be harder to manage :p
Ifer  [author] Feb 19, 2015 @ 12:37pm
@johngantner No, they've changed too much for me to make an easy compatch.
johnGOATner Feb 19, 2015 @ 11:29am
Is there any way you could make this compatible with extended timeline?
Ifer  [author] Feb 18, 2015 @ 4:43am
A little scripting example: Colonial Alaska will be called Vestisland (West Iceland) by scandinavian cultures, except for norwegians who don't own Reykjavik. They will name the colony after their westernmost historical colony: Eirik Raudes Land.
Ifer  [author] Feb 18, 2015 @ 12:37am
@Kapitalisti I set up a github https://github.com/iferius/Colonial-Nation-Names
Kapitalisti Feb 17, 2015 @ 11:37pm
Having trouble getting the Workshop to download this, any chance for a direct download link?
Ifer  [author] Feb 17, 2015 @ 10:53pm
@lewishere2000 True. But other than save game editing, there was no way for you to change the AI colonial nation names.
Ifer  [author] Feb 17, 2015 @ 10:50pm
@Catzkali Well, this doesn't affect save games or historical starts. Perhaps that's what you've tried?
Ifer  [author] Feb 17, 2015 @ 10:49pm
@BIGBenfica9™ In La Plata, the portugese get colonies named Rio De Prata or Transplantina, depending on which provinces they own.
Ifer  [author] Feb 17, 2015 @ 10:45pm
@Krawlon A lot of new names are for lesser colonizers, like scandinavians, the Hansa and other Germans and the Dutch. On top of that, some names are available to all colonizers if they colonize the right province. You could for example get Panama or Texas as a colonial name if you own that province.
Sapphonalia Feb 17, 2015 @ 8:36pm
I named my Dutch Cape Colony "Just The Tip"

Best thing I have ever done in EU4.
M'aiqTheLiar Feb 17, 2015 @ 11:27am
You can actually pick what to name the colonial nation. When the pop up forming it happens. You click where the name of the nation is on the pop up. Then back space to erase then type what you want. Paradox already put the feature in game though I don't think it was advertised to much. I have base EU4 no expansions so it works in the base game.

For example you colonize Brazil and you want to just name it New Portugal instead when the colonial nation forms.

1. You would go to the pop up that says it is being formed.

2. Click where it says Brazil.

3. You should see a blinking cursor at the end of where it says Brazil

4. Back space until it is blank

5. Then type New Portugal

6. Click ok on the Pop up
You now have a new colonial nation that is named the way you want it
Veil Feb 17, 2015 @ 11:14am
@Ifer It kinda works, it loads and doesn't crash but it doesn't change any names.
SquireApollo Feb 17, 2015 @ 7:02am
It works for me @Ifer. I responded to Catzkali as the file was downloading. That line I suggested adding usual sorts out 1.9 issues. But still, a great mod. ^^
