From the top of my head: Open the github and download the files. Change version number to 1.19 in the .mod file, and see if it runs without any other changes.

Ifer  [ophavsmand] 13. jan. 2018 kl. 4:13
It really isn't hard to take what I've made and update it. Feel free to update and improve it!
Frank 11. jan. 2018 kl. 12:47
This is so sad.
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 21. dec. 2016 kl. 5:38
I have no plans to update this mod, but feel free to use my code.
CHURCH96 18. dec. 2016 kl. 19:19
I'd really like to see this brought back to life
9. dec. 2015 kl. 5:50
Do you have any plans to update this mod?
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 23. aug. 2015 kl. 23:10
Becaise those are in the base game and I didn't bother to make sense of anglicised and localised names.
Amiral Ackbar 21. aug. 2015 kl. 2:27
great mod but why "french quebec" in english & "nouvelles flandres" and "nouvelle écosse" in english ?
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 30. juni 2015 kl. 23:31
I've reuploaded it... It works on my end, but steam workshop has messed with the files before.
comake 25. juni 2015 kl. 4:53
latest version is collapsed.
please fix text in 00_colonial_regions.
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 11. juni 2015 kl. 6:27
Good call, Rein. It's in the mod description now. (a bit shortened - you don't need the steam workshop info to run the game)
DirectorRein 11. juni 2015 kl. 4:43
the mod downloads fine, but is having the same glitch as so many others right now. the colonial_nation_names.mod file is completely empty, meaning the launcher cannot detect the mod. this can be easily fixed on the users end, if the mod maker posts for us the entire contents of the colonial_nation_names.mod file for us to copy and past.
Sp00n.exe 17. maj 2015 kl. 12:55
OH MY GOD YES.

THE HANSA WILL FINALLY STOP MAKING RETARDED NAMES
Syrello 22. mar. 2015 kl. 18:21
Yeah, it was only one time.
youthinkforever 21. mar. 2015 kl. 12:41
Hey Ifer, have you thought about adding compatability with Complete Map Mod?
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 16. mar. 2015 kl. 5:14
That's entirely possible. You're lucky though! It's a little more likely with my mod.
Syrello 14. mar. 2015 kl. 14:10
I've seen Nouvelle Flandre ingame before.
Eslavh 3. mar. 2015 kl. 12:47
oh im sorry. i should've looked at my other mods first. yeah when i saw the file i was like, "oops. worng mod." i figured out the problem. thx anyways.
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 2. mar. 2015 kl. 23:14
Unsurprisingly, the file is called colonial_nation_names
Eslavh 2. mar. 2015 kl. 12:58
what is it called then
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 2. mar. 2015 kl. 0:09
I'll update it later today or tomorrow; it needs a little more compatching than changing the version number. and no, it is not called f62 empire.
Eslavh 1. mar. 2015 kl. 17:12
The problem is I cannot delete the file. I have unsubed and deleted the file, but when I start-up the game again, it comes back.
Eslavh 1. mar. 2015 kl. 17:11
Im sorry, I mean F62 empire
Eslavh 1. mar. 2015 kl. 17:10
Is the file name called f6 Empires, because it keeps crashing my game.
ParadoxicalOutcome 1. mar. 2015 kl. 4:31
Will you update this or would it work if I just changed supported version to 1.10 in the mod file?
RewolutionX 27. feb. 2015 kl. 1:48
does this mod work on 1.10 version?
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 23. feb. 2015 kl. 0:48
Righyright. I've listed them.
Nathan Higgers 22. feb. 2015 kl. 11:40
work with Ironman?
ParadoxicalOutcome 21. feb. 2015 kl. 3:11
Can you add a list of all the names it adds onto the description? Right now it's justa bit vague and I don't want to go through 20 campagins just to see what it adds.
Worukan 20. feb. 2015 kl. 23:01
Would be really nice if the description showed what was added... Just sayin'.
what are ya a cop 20. feb. 2015 kl. 13:08
can you create a list o fall these new names?
Nobleknight747 20. feb. 2015 kl. 12:35
@luca.tiburzi01 not the names of colonial nations formed by the AI
OceanFlex 20. feb. 2015 kl. 11:27
ironman?
Luca29 20. feb. 2015 kl. 8:45
Sorrry, but in game you can change the name of colonial nation. :/
SolGuardian 20. feb. 2015 kl. 4:54
I sort of wish colonial nations would be harder to manage :p
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 19. feb. 2015 kl. 12:37
@johngantner No, they've changed too much for me to make an easy compatch.
johnGOATner 19. feb. 2015 kl. 11:29
Is there any way you could make this compatible with extended timeline?
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 18. feb. 2015 kl. 4:43
A little scripting example: Colonial Alaska will be called Vestisland (West Iceland) by scandinavian cultures, except for norwegians who don't own Reykjavik. They will name the colony after their westernmost historical colony: Eirik Raudes Land.
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 18. feb. 2015 kl. 0:37
@Kapitalisti I set up a github https://github.com/iferius/Colonial-Nation-Names
Kapitalisti 17. feb. 2015 kl. 23:37
Having trouble getting the Workshop to download this, any chance for a direct download link?
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 17. feb. 2015 kl. 22:53
@lewishere2000 True. But other than save game editing, there was no way for you to change the AI colonial nation names.
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 17. feb. 2015 kl. 22:50
@Catzkali Well, this doesn't affect save games or historical starts. Perhaps that's what you've tried?
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 17. feb. 2015 kl. 22:49
@BIGBenfica9™ In La Plata, the portugese get colonies named Rio De Prata or Transplantina, depending on which provinces they own.
Ifer  [ophavsmand] 17. feb. 2015 kl. 22:45
@Krawlon A lot of new names are for lesser colonizers, like scandinavians, the Hansa and other Germans and the Dutch. On top of that, some names are available to all colonizers if they colonize the right province. You could for example get Panama or Texas as a colonial name if you own that province.
Sapphonalia 17. feb. 2015 kl. 20:36
I named my Dutch Cape Colony "Just The Tip"

Best thing I have ever done in EU4.
M'aiqTheLiar 17. feb. 2015 kl. 11:27
You can actually pick what to name the colonial nation. When the pop up forming it happens. You click where the name of the nation is on the pop up. Then back space to erase then type what you want. Paradox already put the feature in game though I don't think it was advertised to much. I have base EU4 no expansions so it works in the base game.

For example you colonize Brazil and you want to just name it New Portugal instead when the colonial nation forms.

1. You would go to the pop up that says it is being formed.

2. Click where it says Brazil.

3. You should see a blinking cursor at the end of where it says Brazil

4. Back space until it is blank

5. Then type New Portugal

6. Click ok on the Pop up
You now have a new colonial nation that is named the way you want it
Veil 17. feb. 2015 kl. 11:14
@Ifer It kinda works, it loads and doesn't crash but it doesn't change any names.
SquireApollo 17. feb. 2015 kl. 7:02
It works for me @Ifer. I responded to Catzkali as the file was downloading. That line I suggested adding usual sorts out 1.9 issues. But still, a great mod. ^^
