The animations are a bit choppy ( but the default animations in tf2 are also choppy so it saying much).

@Buffalochild™ , I appreciate your concerns, but the sniper's default backup weapon is already that type of weapon. This would literally be filling the exact same role as the default SMG, just with a slightly different flavor (whichever Valve chooses, if they even choose it).

The who idea of the gun is cool but adding it would take the sniper's far range position and replace it for a close to medium range one just like the bows did. (Which was already bad) I'm sorry I would would like to see this gun in but you've got to realise the game was meant to have the classes do what their names are. This gun will turn the sniper into a weaker version of the soldier. (Which people already did with the scout, engie, and medic)

No, if they let it into the game, lets hope it's a reskin. New weapons are usually dissapointing, especially recently. Valve staff don't read stat suggestions, look at what happened to the 3lb Trigger (now "Backscatter"), planned to boast higher damage and magazine space for slower run speed and weaker jumps. Now, it has LESS AMMO, NO AGILITY PENALTY, and does MINI CRITS on CLOSE BACKSHOT. It's better off being a reskin, anything else would do the Sterling SMG a diservice.

@MLJesus The Sterling/Patchett/STEN are all modified versions of each other, made by the same group looking for quite literally the most bang for their buck.

Herew are some possible stats:
+20% clip size (30)
+100% max primary ammo on wearer
+15% damage bonus
20% faster firing speed
-20% slower reload speed
-10% damage vs buildings
10% smaller range

Please let me know what you think

@alien AI , it would work fine if c_sniper_animations.mdl is ammended and compiled with 4 new animations to differentiate the default smg/cleaner's carbine from the new sterling animations. It was the same with the bow, they just added the new animations as needed, since the bow uses its own and doesn't default to the rifle animations. So, basically, valve can add these animations in with the rest if they wanted.

The animation will not work due to the default reload animation for the smg's.

This is beautiful! I have always wanted to see a side-loading smg model for TF2, sorta looks like a very smooth, streamlined sten.

@[83]Cold|Heat , The bobble is simplified version of the Sterling's folding/drop-stock. On the Mk.5, it butts right up against the wooden handguard. As for the texture, I referred to the default TF2 textures and tried to replicate that "painted" look--mostly via the .vmt file, and not the texture itself (basically how the engine light reacts to the model/texture itself).

Honestly, favorited that thing. That's one of the best things I've seen on the workshop yet. It's original, too many people just keep remaking things we already have.

Always loved Sterlings and you've made a promising model here. Yet what is this bobble below the grip? Also if the hand could be better aligned it would be perfect so that the fingers don't go through the weapon. Last but not least the texture feels a bit weird. Not really metal like but more like glossy grey plastic. Once these would be fixed I'd give it a thumbs up
