as a chinese .i think this moder should know more about chinese history. many name in your mod about chinese states are wrong.many name of states are in different eras. meanwhile,many name of states are no correspondence with its areas

So, I loaded in this mod with the most recent update, and looked at the second start. Ming had random provinces scattered around China, so they did mess with provinces in that area. I can't wait until it's been updated though!

@ Taira: I am waiting to see what the new expansion does to China (which has repeatedly been hinted at) before I do any more updates. Most of the stuff that needs updating should be done (I am removing Estates from the Chinese Monarchy gov type), though I haven't decided on how to work in Institutions into the Reformed Chinese alt-history tech group in the game.

I am creating a mod focused on Asia, Africa and Oceania, where I also want to add some colonial regions, but I am not sure how to do this. could I use yours for this reason? you would be mentioned in the credits.

Could you rename your 00_culture.txt into expanded_china_culture.txt and remove everything which doesn't concern something you change (I guess you changed nothing in the European region as an example). It would prove compatible with another great mod, Reworked culture mod.

Also, just as a suggestion. Would you consider doing a three kingdoms mod? You seem to have some talent with these mods and I would greatly like to play a three kingdoms mod. As a history buff, I could certainly help if needed, although I don't know how to do the mods themselves. However, I would be more than happy to offer both my historical knowledge and fictional knowledge of the ara (fictional knowledge referring to the novel ROTK).

Seems great, I've been playing it for a few now. However, I have question. As a fan of Ancient Chinese history, I'm curious. I'm not familiar with the state of "Bo". Did it also go under another name like Liang (wei)?

Hello everyone! Sorry for the belated update– some aspects of this mod took a while to make, and then the 1.17 Patch dropped which threw a wrench into the localization. There's a couple of new things for the mod, particularly in the form of events relating to Taiwan/Formosa, Buddhism, and some new historical bookmarks for East Asia. As usual, please let me know about any issues with the mod.

@ Mnemonic Moth: Now.

@ God_hellraiser: HFS is mostly in the form of several events that can boost Chinese tech tier to slightly better than Eastern European, and events for Chinese colonial nations.

@ richard.erikssonhjelm17: I'll consider making some events for that in a later update.

Interesting. I like mods which add flavour/new dynamics without altering the map, it makes them more compatible with other mods.

Hey everyone! Sorry for the silence this past month, but I'm almost done with a new update that will add in a few new features and bug fixes for the mod.

@ Mnemonic Moth: I think I know what's causing the problem, but I want to make sure: is your government a Celestial Empire or a Chinese State? (Additionally, I saw your post in the suggestion thread– there's an event that will fire if china's divided that upgrades the tech group.)

@ PaleoTurtle: thanks for the suggestion! I'm ambivalent about modifying the base religions for this mod for a few reasons, but the primary one is that it would be difficult/impossible to do what you're suggesting using the mechanics available for modders. I'm hoping that when Paradox gives Confucianism its own special mechanics, it'll work like a mix of Tengri syncretism and Hindu patron deities. For the idea groups: I'm probably going to add one more for Shu and other Sichuanese states, but after that I'm not planning on adding any more.

Hey! Love the mod, just wanted to suggest a few things. But first I want to say that I hope I don't come off as arrogant or demanding- you're the mod developer and its your choice. You know better what to add and not to add than I do. But as for what I would want in this mod, I would love to see Daoism be added as its own religion! It should also be syncretic with buddhism and confucianism(All 3 have been more or less syncretic in history, I believe). In my humble opinion, the 3 religions should be able to change by just merely clicking the convert button. Also, I know it may be a lot to ask for something so little, but unique ideas for all the chinese minors would be lovely. Having unique ideas does go a long way in my opinion to making each game more interesting than the last. Regardless of what the future has in store, I can't wait to see what else will be added into this mod. Great work!

Hello all! ECM should now be fully compatible with Patch 1.16 / Mare Nostrum, but please let me know if there are any issues, suggestions or bugs for the next update. I've also taken time during the update to update some of the previous stuff made for the mod, as Paradox has added unique idea groups for the Chinese Minor tags. Now Guangxi has the Zhuang idea group rather than a generic tag.

@ richard.erikssonhjelm17: I repurposed the Mongolia tag to be the Cultural Union tag for the entire Mongol culture group. Any Mongolian culture can become Mongolia through a decision (and so get the cultural union bonuses), but since the Mongol Khanate exists in such a bad state in 1444, it also has to do some legwork to get that CU bonus. I hope this answers your question.

Hello all, sorry for the lack of a response during the new year.

@981227636: I am not very fluent in Chinese so I apologize that I'm writing this response in English. The scenarios are not meant to be historical references and are more for having a different and/or interesting gameplay session.
@henofthery: I went through the code and managed to hopefully fix the errors. Sorry about that!
@Legacy: The changes to how region/area scopes work busted the mission scope triggers. This update should fix all of that. I added the Hidden Fun Stuff to trigger for allowing both Reformed Chinese and a late game republican coup event that I don't think anyone's ever seen, because some people didn't want Reformed Chinese tech to pop up.

Hey, I love this mod and have been playing it for several patches now. Unfortuantly, it seems the missions to conquer the various regions of China no longer appear, I imagine this is because the whole area/region mode got reworked and that messed with the missions, which would have relied on the old regions. The missions really helped with conquering China as the coring costs are just so high. Also, for the fun and hidden stuff, what exactly does that enable? I'm several hundred years in and all I've seen is the usual Reformed Chinese tech appearing, are there new events, or is that the only one?

love this mod. currently playing a game as japan and I just enacted the decision to form the ben dynasty and as far as I can tell the first two decision don't work. I am missing something or is this a known bug?

@ ccfierywolf: thanks for the bug report. I've got a fix working and I'll post it in the next update (there's a missing OR term in the specific ideas files).

@ Bodhisattva: There are missions that Manchus can get that help them to conquer the rest of China and forming the Qing dynasty now gives you the Chinese State government type, but aside from that there's not much special content accessible by the Manchus.

And it's up! Much of the new update is meant for mid to late-game play, so if you usually stay in the early game then you won't see any of the new tags or events. This update gives new foreign dynasty decisions for Japan, Korea and Tibet, as well as support for Chinese colonial nations and the Lanfang Republic. A more detailed overview is in the change notes, as usual.

I hope everyone's enjoying the updated mod for the new patch! I'm currently working on a big update to the mod, which is focused around "colonialism." What kind of colonialism? Well, more than one kind! Expect a new update within the week.

@ riley.steer : I'm not too familiar with the history of Chinese colonization in Taiwan, and I want to leave it uncolonized for the benefit of players in mainland china. I may add something in at a later date if I can think of anything interesting to put there for either scenario.
@ NO WAIFU NO RAIFU : if you check /gfx/flags/ in my mod's directory, you may see an hint about that.

Hello everyone! Expanded China Mechanics is up and running again for the Post- Common Sense version of EUIV. The scenario setup for "Reign of 10,000 Princes" and "Romance of the 5 Dynasties" isn't changed too much at the moment, so the effects of the new Chinese Unification CB and the default fortress placements are unknown at the moment. I'll be posting some discussions later for you all to post balance issues and suggestions.

I can confirm what Kaiser Fred has said, there is indeed an issue with the localisation for High Chinese in that it doesn't show up properly. A hot fix would be nice, as well as any more work you were planning to put in on it! :)
