@(FP)Order of Sam Bloody hell, no. It will be too conterversial to do it....sorry...
That... is even more unexplainable and weird.
I don't know anymore, haha. At this point I am almost certain that it has nothing to do with this mod.
I am very sorry, I simply cannot for the life of me reproduce this issue. I'm temtped to say perhaps there may be issues with the game and/or Mac compatibility.
My test:
I did not use any form of unit spawning this time, niether IGE nor Firetuner.
I simply set my Capital to produce Scouts continuously and threw them at nearby Barb camps over and over until they all died. They died in a mix of suicide attacks, as well as being killed on Barb turns.
I managed to get 2 Torches, as well as a Great Flame Haze spawning from a dying Flame Haze unit (these two units use the same spawning code) but I experienced no spontaneous tourism despite going for over 80 turns doing this.
Please see my screenshots here and here.
Do you see any differences with your setups? Would having some existing tourism be the key?
I will try again to reproduce the issue.
To clarify:
You are attacking a barbarian with any unit (scout, warrior, etc.)
Either the barbarian unit kills your unit on their turn, or you suicide your unit into a barbarian and gets itself killed.
Unit killed will eventually spawn a Torch (only a small chance normally.)
As soon as this happens (for the first Torch spawned?) you gain millions of tourism?
Are there any times where you lose a unit like this, get a Torch, and it does not result in millions of tourism?
I'm not sure. I haven't been able to replicate it myself, so I wouldn't know where to begin trying to fix it. If there were specific circumstances or steps you took to consistently get this to happen, that would likely tell me where the problem is. If it only happens occasionally, then it could just be a weird game bug.
This would be especially true if it's purely graphical, and doesn't affect who wins the game. Does the tourism stick around after reloading the game save?
@RaMzZzEsII
I don't think either of us knows Russian, so I don't think that will be possible unless someone wants to translate everything into Russian.
Hmm. How did you go about reproducing it?
Can you give me the steps involved to make it happen?
To be honest, my contribution/involvement only really goes as far as the Lua code to make the majority of Shana's abilities happen, and a few text entries (the Dawn of Man and UA text, mainly) as I'm primarily focused on my main 'Spice and Wolf' Civilization, so I'm not entirely sure about changes to the unit models.
At a glance, I am okay with it, because the GFH is meant to be an 'important' unit, and having just the one large guy there emphasizes it a bit more. If you were to put it into a group, it diminishes his feel of importance a bit, and he could also be 'killed' during an attack and leave only the other units left in the group. Going by these reasons, I'd have to ask forgiveness and patience while he fights through the hordes.
I have attempted, and failed, in trying to reproduce the issue you experienced. I suicided both regular units and Flame Hazes into barbarian encampments (I simply spawned them and gave them XCOM units) until I had both a Torch, and a Great Flame Haze spawn. I did not get any sudden surge of tourism against anyone, even after ending the turn.
Can you reproduce this consistently? If so, I may need your save file.
If not, I can only say that perhaps this is just a completely random coincidence with some weird stock-game bug.
No problem, hope you give it some consideration though, cuz that would be a really nice change, like, making it into a General Unit instead of one-man armies
Thank you. I will look into it in a few hours. Too sleepy to do anything productive right now, haha.
Please do, any extra information will be very helpful in pinpointing issues. I'm pretty sure I tested suiciding a unit when I was testing, but I'll try it again and see what happens.
Please also post a screenshot of your mods screen (after you click next, and before you click on Single Player or Load Game.) Best way is either on Steam and give us a link, or someplace like imgur.
@Zetacius
Haha, I know the feeling. My other Civ is the same with the Great Wolf. I have no idea if it would be a worthwhile change though, so I'll defer that for now.
Nothing in the Lua code to my knowledge should impact Tourism or Culture.
If you are not running any other mods, I will have to test it later and see if I can reproduce the issue. Do you have any specific steps that led up to what you experienced?
