hi is there any way to use this on a pawn which is dead? (there is a necrogene mod but apparently it doesnt support some modded genes, and doesnt allow gene targeting etc)

@AsteShiro well the gene ripper kills the pawn, ghouls are already dead, so i assume it cant collect from something dead.

Good work,but I found that the gene ripper can't collect genes from ghouls.
If the gene extractor can collect genes from ghouls,why can't the gene ripper?

I don't have enough time in my life to play with the stupid & incredibly tedious mechanic of randomly selecting genes from pawns over and over. Your mod saves the day and even balances it out by killing pawns in the process. Good job. :steamthumbsup:

@Schadenfreude It is, as long as the deathless comes as a endogene, extraction on the vanilla extractor won't kill them, but place them in a coma.

If it's introduced as a xenogene they die and deathless is lost.

On the other hand with this mod it doesn't care, it will kill your pawn like it pressed the command kill on them and bypasses it.

Not true, in vanilla Deathless doesn't prevent death from having genes extracted while genes are regrowing.

I imagine it follows the same logic, if you choose to selectively rip out a gene the pawn dies, no matter what, like they've been regrowing genes and were subjected to gene extraction.

@Ghandi Pushed an update that lets you control the time from 1hr-72hrs, and the blend chance from 0-100% now :)

Is it possible to adjust the blending % chance & extraction time below the minimum available in the mod options menu? tried looking through the xml files and couldnt find a variable related/linked to the blend chance or extraction time. Might be being blind

Do genes get actually RIPPEN from pawns? Have a pigskin with too many good stuff in and just wanna get rid of those damn pig hand. With anomaly u just use death refusal and done.

@Luccy_wq2 vanilla gene extractor lets you repeat the process of gene extraction after waiting 8~12 days (i think) for the pawn's genes regrow. you also get no say in what genes get extracted. Thus it can take a while until you finally get lucky. But the good thing is you need only to find 1 pawn per xenotype to eventually get everything you want.

This mod provides an alternative, letting you skip the lottery altogether and immediately get 1 gene you want per pawn, killing them in the process. The downside - if you want to rip more than 1 gene, you need more than 1 xeno of that type. And, well, you can't use it on your colonists, unless you're okay with losing them.

So overall this mod helps quite a bit, without really being OP, i think the death aspect balances it out really well so it doesn't completely overshadow the vanilla extraction. There's equal merit to using both depending on the circumstance. The mod doesn't replace the vanilla extractor, both can be built.

i'd like some help, never tried the vanilla genes reserche Branch, and i just got interested in doing a super human, is it easy to find your preferable genes?, or is it better this mod?. is this mod somewhat op?, i don't know how hard it is to find certain genes... so i have no grounds to base a opinion. can somebody help? :D
