can you add roads?
Alpharius 18 hours ago
a temporary fix to the road issue is using roads of the rim
the only issue is that it doesn't have certain road variants, so you can't go around building asphalt highways. (bigger version of the asphalt roads)

@Ferret With A Cat Hat I'll consider this, that's a really good idea
Ferret With A Cat Hat Oct 1 @ 3:01pm
This is a random thing but I wonder how possible it would be to put hyperlinks to other narratives inside of narratives? Kinda Obsidian-style?
Wrath Oct 1 @ 11:37am
I'll rather wait, enabling-disabling 600 mods bores me in advance lol
Thanks for your answers and I wish you all the best
ferny  [author] Oct 1 @ 11:35am
@Wrath Yeah you can also use the 1.5 version of the game combined with the old WorldEdit mod to modify all that, then bring it to the 1.6 version (like what AllyJamey the planet earth guy does) but we should hopefully have roads and brush sizes soon.
Wrath Oct 1 @ 11:29am
Alright, so for now, if we use this mod , we either :

1 - Start from existing/generated world and build around existing roads
or
2 - Starting from scratch (full water globe) but no roads ?

Can you confirm @ferny ?

Also with the mod road of the rims (not sure of the name but its the mod that allows the creation of roads on world map) it's possible to craft the roads once the game started, right ?
ferny  [author] Oct 1 @ 11:02am
@MajorityOfTheInternet If you're tryna clone the world I think just duplicate it in your files instead. Go to the Rimworld root local folder and into the "Worldbuilder" folder and make its ID different
MajorityOfTheInternet Oct 1 @ 10:49am
No matter how I change the name when I want to make a new save for the same world (to backup), it keeps just saving over my old save?
ferny  [author] Oct 1 @ 9:10am
Roads and brush sizes coming later, sorry just a few other projects i'm getting out of the way
Wrath Oct 1 @ 9:07am
Fantastic mod, but I am totally missing how I am supposed to build routes ? Is it intended in the mod ? @ferny
Skegg Sep 30 @ 6:51pm
I'd love a bigger brush size adjuster tooljust for being able to cover worlds with basic terrain quickly.
Alpharius Sep 30 @ 7:53am
hey fern.
no idea what's causing it, but certain tiles cause the game to bug out during world editing.
you can't select the tiles, or turn them into other biomes, or anything really. they're just stuck like that.
no idea where I would put this so I figured the comments of your mod would be the best.
thanks for all your hard work fern.
Lionheart Sep 30 @ 2:49am
FYI imgur.com has blocked the UK from accessing it's site so your mod description which contains images hosted there, now has NO information available in that format for anyone accessing from the UK.
you may want to consider updating with a text description.
Devonte Sep 27 @ 10:56am
I think support with my little planet or a built-in system to change world sizes would be nice. I tried using it with vacworld, but it couldn’t seem to work.
Rex705 Sep 27 @ 6:03am
Some one really needs to make a tutorial video for this mod lol.
ferny  [author] Sep 26 @ 1:21am
@Panthercat64 Weird, I really think that should not be the case.
Panthercat64 Sep 25 @ 10:38pm
My issue has been solved, just need retextures of weapons or items to come AFTER world builder! issue resolved, but worth noting.
Giorgio Dibitonto Sep 23 @ 3:38am
@ferny

Hello dear author

Just wanna bring to your attention last update form LAO (layered athmospheric and orbit).

The mod is a framework for layers (and planet now), the last update introduce useful features to create and add:
- moons
- planets
- planets travel (grav jump)

It also added a basic vanilla moon as prove of concept.

Anyway the point is that for what I understand it make already possible use planet created with worldbuilder to spawn like moons or others planet, but I think something is still needed form WB mod directly (as compatibility) to make this easier. I think is something easy.

Would be cool if you can contact Hydra (if you are interested) to make this true, so that we can use also planets created with WB as additionals moons or other solar planet.

I think the two framework can be edit a lot form each others.
Stukov Sep 22 @ 3:28pm
Works on 1.5?
Panthercat64 Sep 22 @ 1:21pm
Uh... I think this mod prevents mods like [k4g] weapon retexture or my own retexture mod from changing what the default texture is on a item.

Any workarounds or settings I'm missing? I do not like the default textures, which is why I use a replacement mod.
Gabe Knight Sep 21 @ 7:08am
Thanks Ferny, you rock my good sir.
qux Sep 21 @ 3:47am
Hi, no news about futur update ?
clownkitty Sep 20 @ 9:26pm
I want to be able to edit in roads on command, but I can't seem to figure it out. Is it a feature yet?
Gabe Knight Sep 20 @ 8:29pm
EDIT: Ok I found how to do. Hope it'll help others. Select first the characteristics of the tile you want to change, press 'paint tile' and here where I thought it was going to change the previously selected tile, instead, only then, select the files you want to paint and change.
Gabe Knight Sep 20 @ 8:10pm
It looks great but I can't make it work. I just want to modify a tile's landmarks, but how do I do? I added the landmarks I wanted and pressed "done", but it won't change anything to the selected tile? Thanks
plusing123 (dragonheart) Sep 20 @ 7:49pm
question is there a way to add things like under ground water and oil to maps? (i was trying to use vac world but it didn't have any of those)
Elidurden123 Sep 19 @ 11:58pm
Really cannot wait for the brush tool. Vanilla planet generation is frustrating as all hell.
Marble Pony Pie Sep 16 @ 9:31am
This mod is amazing! I'm creating my own planet with this framework and it is really easy to add and tweak things. Patiently waiting for an update of this mod. Editing settlements and raods will open a whole new dimension of storytelling
Zappy The Floof Sep 13 @ 6:59pm
ahh that would do it
ferny  [author] Sep 13 @ 6:33pm
@Zappy The Floof Roads and river editing aren't in yet
Zappy The Floof Sep 13 @ 3:46pm
how in the shit does this ting work? I cant find the menus for roads, settlements, rivers, only to change what a tile is
Mozetronick Sep 11 @ 11:57am
Yes, I changed the tile's status from "Impassable Mountains" to "Mountains" (normal). Yes, the "Map Preview" even generated what could be there. No, the "Route Edit Mode" tool still bypasses this place because "This area is impassable". No, "Send Caravan" there also doesn't work because "your settlers can't reach this place". WAIDW?
Clairelenia Sep 9 @ 1:23pm
:( hmm kay ... jea it's a big mod, that why it overlaps with some others unfortunately.

Too bad, 5 years ago this tile/map editor was a standalone mod and super tiny. So probably it would have been easy to just extract it from this mod ^^ thanks for your responses.
ferny  [author] Sep 9 @ 1:11pm
@Clairelenia Nah this mod is a complex behemoth under the hood. Would not be a good idea at all to seperate out that. Never happening, at least not by me.
Clairelenia Sep 9 @ 1:09pm
Realistic Planet Generation overhauls the complete planet generation with more sliders and much more customisation ^^ unfortunately it's also a bit buggy cause of 1.6
Clairelenia Sep 9 @ 1:08pm
Same =) ... they don't go well together.

That's unfortunate then. The terrain edit tool would have no incompatibility at all and would just be a few KB big in size :( probably super easy to release separately.
ferny  [author] Sep 9 @ 1:07pm
Hmm yeah im unaware of what that mod even does, just have heard it was designed to work with this. It'd be up to them to add further compatibility if needed.
Protok Sep 9 @ 1:06pm
I also had a problem combining Realistick Planets with Worldbuilder and failed to find a reason =(
ferny  [author] Sep 9 @ 12:47pm
@Clairelenia None of those are conflicts, realistic planets is designed to work with this, and Worldbuilder's customize menu deliberately replaces VTE Variations visual menu. As for a spinoff with just that feature, all of the features of this mod work in tandem to create a customizable exportable experience. Without the rest of the features, it simply wouldn't work.
Clairelenia Sep 9 @ 12:46pm
YES +100 only terrain edit plsss <3
Clairelenia Sep 9 @ 12:45pm
:D mods that also enable customization of different stuff become a bit conflicted, or "Realistic Planets" for example cause of planet generation. And also Vanilla Furniture - Variations seem to not work with this mod active anymore.

But doing compatibility fixxes for such big mods is often tons of work and if these mods get updated, things break easily again.

So would it be an option to just get a seperate version that just enables tile/map editing? I rly miss that from the old Worldedit mod :(
Protok Sep 9 @ 12:43pm
+10 for TerrainEdit version
ferny  [author] Sep 9 @ 12:14pm
@Clairelenia What do you mean "unfortunately lots of mods are a bit influenced by this mod"
Clairelenia Sep 9 @ 12:12pm
heyo ... unfortunately lots of mods are a bit influenced by this mod :/ any way to get only the map editor on its own maybe as additional mod? just to alter terrain/tiles on a planet, the old worldedit mod had just these basic functions, but unfortunately the mod does not get updated anymore :(
Pvc pipe Sep 8 @ 6:59pm
I got a suggestion from an old mod I used to lower the amount of pre-existing roads: You could add a world generation slider for existing roads and what kind of roads
Morcalvin Sep 8 @ 7:54am
Awesome! thanks so much for the quick responses
ferny  [author] Sep 8 @ 7:50am
@Morcalvin Yeah. Just remove any features from your brush and once you paint over it'll only override the biomes.
Morcalvin Sep 8 @ 7:48am
Is there a way to have it not change the features of a tile and solely change the biome?
ferny  [author] Sep 8 @ 7:38am
@Morcalvin Not possilbe unfortunately. You can draw the new biomes onto your world map yourself with the map editor, but world transitions are for visuals/lore
