The unsheathed swords mod was bugging The_Yogi S2TW Artillery Unit Pack REBALANCED. the VOC was allowing me to recruit stuff it shouldn't until I started mixing and testing mod combinations.
I don't really enjoy being able to build Nanban traders as Buddhist, or watch the AI doing the same. When I sacrificed Bow Warrior Monks to become Christian... Ie. "Why become Christian anymore?"
TLDR, do you think you'll want/have the time to ever split the mod, re-balance it further?

I've found out WHY the trebuchet ship doesn't work. you've missed a line of code
in db/gun_type_to_projectile_tables you lack the line for mangonels, making them not have a projectile, hence why everyone says it doesn't work
the reason a few pages in that SOME have made it work, is because the line required exists in your "fire siphon" ship mod
if you use the 2 mods together, it works
i tried copying the line over and guess what, it works
you might not care enough about this very old mod to update it, but i wanted to at least let the commentors know how to fix this
The trebuchet ship sadly doesn't seem to work anymore tho, i guess i'll take a look at it

I'm completely confused trying to solve this problemma.
Technically, yes I'm able to - but lately I haven't got the time to revisit and repair my old S2 mods
For some reason, Generals and their Bodyguards all fight with sheathed swords in land battles.
I haven't tested campaigns but it happens in custom battles/skirmishes.
Otherwise all of the changes are really welcome, awesome mod!
But I would like to say I found something odd that you might want to look at, the Firebomb Mangonel Bune's range is abysmal compared to the rest of the ships. With it's missile range being 60 and not identical to the land one, which I thought would be correct when having a mangonel on a ship.
Plus the in the campaign, with the Red Seal Ship. The unit card says it has cannons, and yes in the custom battles it has cannons but as soon as I go into battle in the campaign. The cannons are listed as 0(Destroyed)
I don't know if the other ships might have similar discrepancies but is this a weird problem with the mod or something else?
Sure
It's a shame that because of this error this mod becomes incompatible with almost any mod that adds or modifies squads (no, the game works great, but fighting with foot squads very much spoils the atmosphere).
Also the black ship is buildable, which I don't think Yogi intended to do considering his wording for the Nanban Carrack? Same area, just select vn_building_units_allowed and delete the entry with Galleon_The_Black_Ship. It is at the bottom of the list.
Quick question, how did you get the AI to recruit custom naval units? Current mod i'm working on the AI doesn't recruit custom naval units even though i can.
