@Leo I can't really 'seperate the changes' because intimacy reimplements lovin'. that would require a full rewrite of the ideology stuff to work with vanilla lovin' instead
@AL3RCE a slider would be possible but the problem is that, even right now, the intimacy need is working with *very* small numbers. in the backend, the 'daily % decay' is actually a per tick decay value and they're already quite small, one of the numbers for example is '0.0003'
adding another zero and making the numbers any smaller, or adding a slider which can result in very elaborate values like 0.0002874 etc. just causes more issues that it solves. so buttons only for now

Okay, I see my issue. My ideoligion was set to "free". I choose the default vanilla ideoligion and didn't know that specific precept was tweaked by this mod. Deleting my comment.

there is a little incompatibility with the highmate expand mod, the initiate lovin will cause break up even when I set spouse to be unlimited and partner only in physical love, and those 3 pawns are lovers.

@MEAL nudists, and pawns who believe in ideologies that dictate no clothes for their gender, will indeed just do lovin' whenever and wherever. most other colonists care about decency and will seek their bedrooms.
you can also schedule pawns to work if you don't want them to do lovin' at any moment

Thank you for making this, I started a new playthrough with this and so far it's been a great addition, same with the Gender Works mod. One thing I'm noticing is that if colonists are far away from the base and they agree on, you know, they end up going all the way back to the bed spot. It could be because I'm in the early game and tribal start too, so I don't have a big home area and rely on hunting a lot, but I think it would be good if they could just get on with it in the forest and move on lol. Especially if a "seducing" pawn has lower movement speed than the "seduced", then it could take several (in-game) hours for them to bang because first the pawn needed to catch up and then they needed to go back to the base. It's a niche case but I saw that happen several times now.

A new update for Intimacy is now out! This update seperates the lactation hediff from the refractory period of a mother.
Changelog:

The refractory period after a pawn gives birth is now handled seperately from the lactation hediff.
Added a new gene called ''No refractory period'' which, as you may have guessed, makes it so the pawn does not experience a refractory period after giving birth.
Fixed a small typo in one of the gene strings.
Some other minor fixes.

any way to increase the amount of intimacy gained from socialising? It seems the only way to be above 0% intimacy is for everyone to constantly be banging

@Coffe Toffee Lo-Fi pawns can only do lovin' during Anything and Recreation schedules. this is consistent with vanilla needs like recreation. assign your pawns to different schedules, or force the jobs, if you don't want them to do lovin'

Even though two pawns are in a lover relationship, attempting to lovin' inflicts the "Lustful Act" debuff. ideology precept physical love is set to "Partner Only." What's wrong with that?

Its a mod that makes sense. Makes the world you build more alive without going to extremes. I have a question though. Mpawns go to the anima tree to meditate and raise their focus, one of them got interrupted by their significant other for some fun. A raid was about to start and I had to interrupt them (sad I know) Is there a way for lovin' to raise psycast focus? Would be amazing for hedonistic ideologies and some of their celebrations too.

So pawn will drop anything they are doing to get some love, including transfering the devourer to its new cell. It didnt end very well. Not complaining though, it is kinda funny

So uh, question: Is the intimacy need balanced based on industrial tech level factions or something?

Because I'm doing a progression: core run, and during the neolithic and tribal eras I was having trouble getting intimacy on my pawns above 0%

Unless they were regularly taking someone to bed their intimacy need was basically stuck around 0% due to them gaining TINY amounts of intimacy (like 1-2%) from random social talks or during rituals, but then losing 16% per day. And that's with me having them set to like 5 hours of recreation, and 2-3 hours of meditation as a group around an Anima tree.


Am just curious if either I just have a mod somewhere that breaks something, or if the intimacy need itself was balanced with the assumption that pawns would have access to a comms console?

Can I have a option to still use way better romances hook up system? I love how much this expands upon things, but man, sometimes I just need for my pawns to MOVE IT ALONG SO THEY CAN BE ROMANCED!
It gets a tad annoying. Plus , how else am I supposed to use my colonists to make guests happier during their stay if I don't get that option?

Oh gosh thank you so much for the patch !! I didn't want to make a request, because I don't really know how challenging it is to make patches, and I know you had a tutorial for them so I figured since there's only gonna be single digit users of the ferrex mod with Intimacy, I didn't wanna bother. I've just been playing with my null critters and watching them enjoy life. I very very appreciate the work you put in for me and at least one other person.

I absolutely love this mod, quick question though I see that it adds a pregnant hediff for mechanoids but it never gets applied only realized it existed through debug and when force applied it doesn't "stick" so to speak. Is this a scrapped feature or something to look forward to in the future? :steamthumbsup:

@Tahu! you probably didn't notice the issue because the issue was resolved in about 12 hours. steam usually doesn't update mods immediately so it's only the unlucky few who got a bad copy shipped before I fixed the issue
for your har mod - as I've said in the compatibility matters page, custom bodies added by har mods will be patches on a first come, first serve basis. make a report in the discord if you'd like any specific races patched

Overall, very nice alternative to RJW stuff, even if it doesn't do everything I want from it (I have over 300 mods, so take what I say with a grain of salt). Hope Romance on the Rim has a change of heart some day to work with this mod because it'd make this one shine so much more.

Haven't had any issue with the mod personally, yet-- no TPS drains from doing any specific actions, running at max TPS on 1-3x speed (3x speed only when not much is going on). Colony had 10 people, low tech and base was fairly busy nonstop with things going on, raids had no extra impact or anything, with multiple ongoing relationship triangles. It's an alright mod! I wish the dialogue between pawns was more diverse, and wish for more varied interactions in general, but it plays well and doesn't shake up the game much outside of more interactions happening between colonists. My only issue is the submod, Intimacy - Gender Works, turns the only alien race I use (Ferrex Race) into Null sex, so they can not partake in reproduction. Extremely niche issue, but doesn't break the game in a way that makes me want to try and patch it.

@Tactical Drongo: Try unsubscribing from the mod, then resubscribing. Sometimes the steam workshop fails to download updates, and the most recent one fixed the performance issues.

I am not sure why, but this mod is a massive drain on my performance, especially if I go to the social tab or the needs tab

Thanks for your recent hotfix, as a feature request: allow adult pawns to breastfeed other adult pawns to fulfil intimacy needs, add breastmilk item, add breastmilk drinking action, add extract `breastmilk` medical procedure thx
