It's using something from Vanilla Expanded Framework, so you should see if it also applies to Alpha Genes.
- Removed support for VFE - Ancients. Isolationism meme is now in VIE - Memes and Structures, so it is still available.
- Biotech is now listed as a requirement in About.xml.
Also some minor changes included in the 1.6 update:
- The Avali Dropship (which I did not mention previously) has been temporarily removed because of all the general confusion around SOS2. It may be re-added with SOS2's update to 1.6. There is also the possibility of a reworked version for the Odyssey DLC depending on how it works.
- The gene that makes Avali lay eggs has been moved to Alpha Genes "Egg Laying" gene instead of VRE - Saurids to simplify.
- To keep up balancing with the gene changes, Avali have been given the Weak Immunity gene from Biotech.
An egg gene is a complicated thing to add for little effect, so I don't feel like making my own either.
Problem with Alpha Genes is that they seriously bloat the metabolism cost of eggs. Can't really afford to take that hit.
I did initially consider having some weaponry and armor added, but I kind of lost interest midway through making a helmet texture.
Maybe someday, but it's not likely.
Also, do you intend on adding any more items like the nanoloom and nanocanvas? It was awesome to see those additions so I'd love to see more Avali lore stuff added, like their plants and more materials. Weapons perhaps? ;D
Another thing, if someone doesn't have VER saurids, could the genes default to using Alpha Genes egglaying for avali eggs if it's installed? Alpha Gene's eggs also are more accurate to Todd's Lorebook's lore regarding Avali eggs, so I think it'd fit better! (and reduce the amount of gene/race mods I need loaded into my game ;p )
Doesn't it sound fun? Finally we can bring the Avali into their thematic habitat of space.
