Anyways -- great collection, now pls stop plugging it everywhere, people will soon take notice of this.
Anyways, as I said, since the engine is limited it's either that, or vanilla texture
I prefer to have slightly less defined HD textures to vanilla textures, but I understand that's it's frustrating to have to deal with this
Just compare high and low together.
Also there is a very-but a very slight difference between high-med-low paged pool memory.
It's a bit of a nitpick, but the cooling, A/C or whatever it is seems to have blurrier textures on med-low along with a white outline -- while the high paged pool doesn't.
For information, I ran a quick test on the roof of No mercy and found no difference in texture quality, but maybe it does affect some textures in some part.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3423420511 - low
Anyways, the way I see it, you can't play with HD mods and high pool memory, or you will crash, so you have the choice between vanilla textures (which look outdated today) being rendered at max res all the time with high pool memory, or HD textures being rendered sometimes in lower resolution with page memory low, but at the end of the day it still looks WAY better than Vanilla, so I guess it's a sacrifice we have to make. But for the record, I play with pool memory low and I didn't experience blurry textures, so maybe it comes from somewhere else?
Like an hour ago, I played L4D2 and successfully played through; No Mercy, Dead Center just fine, The Passing crashed somewhere around the underground exploration part.
I don't think my specs really matter as I'm pretty sure anyone can run L4D2 in 2025, anyways; yes I do have 16gb of ram, an I5-14400F, 1tb of storage and an RTX 3060.
I did notice slight pop-in with paged pool memory set to low in 'The Passing' right when approaching the 'wedding' part, but also lower and worse texture quality. Still convinced paged pool memory also lowers texture quality in some parts.
I'll try removing the smoother models as soon as I'm not busy with other thingies.
As for the constant crashes you experience, I don't experience that, the mod collection runs fine on my end. Do you have at least 8-16gb of ram? The game will use 4gb at best, but windows and other programs may eat some of the ram so you should have 4gb of free memory when launching L4D2, which is why it's best to have between 8gb and 16gb. If you don't have enough ram maybe try to close every program and run only L4D2 and see if it helps? Also refrain from alt-tabbing because it can in rare cases provoke crashed.
If nothing works, try disabling the "smoother" mods (smoother bill, smoother zoey, etc), I know they can be quite intensive, in fact I purposely didn't include the smoother special infected because they made my game crash all the time, but I found the game to be stable with just the survivors having smoother models, then if it keeps crashing try to remove the Remade Assets HD
I hope this can solve your problems

I am sorry for deleting your comment, I thought you just hadn't set you paged pool memory to low like some people who didn't read the description.
For information, paged pool memory has nothing to do with texture quality but rather pop-in/out and fade distance. Unfortunately, the engine being 15 years old there is no way to run that many mods without making that sacrifice, otherwise the game will constantly crash even on the best machines.

Take a picture of the same environment at the same location, in the same positions etc. etc. etc whatever, and try again.

This Is Alternative Mod-Set By The Way
with motion blur and film grain
300fps constant
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Everyone Got Preferences Though, Install It Or Not
4K's Are Not That Much Useless It's For Those Who Want Everything To Be 4K It's Like URE
I complimented the collection but also complained equally about the constant crashes, regardless of if paged pool memory is set to low. (Also setting Paged Pool Memory to low just makes me feel like I'm playing L4D2 on low texture detail, rendering all these pretty 4K textures useless.
Or Did It On Purpose You Could Say
Have you set your "Paged pool memory available" to "Low"? (check description if not)
If you have, try removing the "smoother" mods (smoother bill, smoother zoey, etc), I know they can be quite intensive
then try to remove the Remade Assets HD
If nothing works, maybe you don't have enough RAM? How much do you have?
It Deserves More Ratings To Be Honest
PS: sometimes when you alt-tab during map load it can corrupt the loading.
