Is this just for playing music in-game? Or can I replace/add specific music tracks like for when raids happen or when anomaly events happen?

Anytime I try to load a song off of one of my hard drives, it doesn't let me play it, it will just show the play symbol and do nothing.

A couple of months ago, I dropped some news about the upcoming 1.5.4 update, but life’s been throwing some serious curveballs my way lately. Between personal stuff and feeling totally burnt out on RimWorld, I’ve made the tough call to cancel 1.5.4 . I know, I know, it’s a bummer, and I’m really sorry for letting you all down.

But here’s the exciting part! Instead of 1.5.4, we’re going big with version 1.6 ! Yep, you heard that right—we’re skipping straight to something even better. The catch? It’s tied to RimWorld’s 1.6 update, so it won’t be out super soon. Gotta ask for a bit of patience here while we make it awesome.

Thanks for sticking with me through this, and I’m pumped to share more as we get closer to release. You guys rock!

Can't get the overlay to show at all.

will the DMS allow you to have "calm" and "intense" versions of songs? i'd love to use the FTL soundtrack with the two variants!

Doesn't seem to work? I'm not sure what it means by direct link to an audio file, for one, even though I'd prefer that- but I've also used the local files option and gone into my music folder. When I selected an MP3, the file name shows up but it refuses to play.

Mod seems to not load most of my files when adding them in a batch, plus randomly renames said files to names in a different language (presumably chinese or japanese, im not great at knowing what language is what due to my only one being english)

N.C.V. no, it wasn't. For now, you can just add your theme songs to a playlist and play it. With DMS it should be much more creative.

homounicornio, unfortunately, I haven't created an official way to add icons yet. However, I might add this feature in the future. For now, icons can be added, but it would be challenging for an average user.

Hello, friend: This mod is absolutely fantastic! I can finally play with my favorite music from my favorite anime shows LOL. That being said, is there a way to add custom icons? I don't know if I'm doing it right; I put some icons in the folder, but they didn't appear in the game.

FYI for anyone planning to download this mod: There's currently no functionality to separate combat and regular songs, so if you subscribe then get used to hearing combat music even if there's nothing going on.

@DepsClan actually I'm not on 4K just 1440. I reset the mod settings anyway but it's still not showing up. I'll try resubbing and maybe playing with mod load order next time I load it up.

Star ★, nope, support for 1.4 isn’t in the plans and never will be. The difference between the audio systems in 1.4 and 1.5 is just too massive to make it work. I’m sticking with 1.5 and future 1.6

@Kosh, sounds like the overlay isn’t popping up for you, and honestly, it’s probably cause the 4K screen issue still isn’t fully fixed. Here’s what you can try: reset the mod settings while you’re running the game in 4K resolution. After that, it should show up in the top-right corner. I haven’t got a 4K monitor myself yet, but I’m planning to pick one up soon and sort this out for good.

Support for 1.4 not in plans?

Hopefully a silly question... Where is the Overlay suppose to be? I can open the Mod Options via Menu Options or using the hot key, the music player and hot keys are working great. I'm just missing the Overlay... I can change the colour settings in options, I can change the Alt+H default hotkey to "hide" it, but the problem is I can't see it in the first place. Thoughts? Thx!

Dynamic music system + custom playlist sharing will make this the definitive music mod for Rimworld! It'll be great to have all of my music mods as modular playlists. Can't wait to share with the community once those features are implemented!

I owe you all an apology. I promised to finish the RimTunes update within a week, but it ended up taking me two weeks to get everything sorted out. Life threw some curveballs my way, and the update took longer than expected. I’m really sorry for the delay and appreciate your patience!

That said, RimTunes 1.5.373 is finally out! It’s live now, and you can grab it from the workshop. The export/import system is included, but I’ll be honest—it’s not perfect yet. I’ll need to keep tweaking it over time. If anyone runs into issues with it, please let me know right away! Write down a bug report/feature request. I didn’t want to hold off releasing any longer, so here it is, imperfections and all.

Looking ahead, I’ll soon start working on the dynamic music system , which I know a lot of you have been waiting for. It’s next on my list, and I’m excited to dive into it.

Well then, greetings to everyone ! Little by little, I’m wrapping up my real-life affairs and can gradually return to working on RimTunes . Right now, I’ve got about 60% of the playlist sharing system done. I think I’ll finish it sometime this week and then move on to developing the dynamic music system , which is what’s most needed .

Also, I just released a small update with fixes for some bugs (mostly related to the song storage ) and synchronized the RimWorld volume slider with the RimTunes volume slider.

@HydroFrog64, only way is to disable the mod.

Is there a way to disabled it mid game temporarily to allow for vanilla music systems to play without just straight up reinstalling?

Where can i find the interface?

There seems to be an issue with the interface size. When I set the ‘Interface size’ to 1.5x, I couldn't find the overlay, but after changing it to 1.0x, I was able to find the overlay. The resolution I am using is 3440*1440 (WQHD).

Has the issue that @Corvus mentioned with the game/saves breaking when adding in new mods with this mod active been fixed?

Really love the mod, tried it out on a separate save and would love to use it though i am wary of adding it to my main save because of this issue, hopefully it gets fixed soon if it hasn't already ~
