Does anyone know of a mod like this but it's random? You might once in a while get a movie/life and living but it's rare and random?

If you find this mod no longer works due to recent vanilla updates or conflicts with newer radio/TV broadcasting mods uploaded after mine, please install my latest version, which forcibly loops all channels endlessly:

@西伯利亚酥皮烤鸭 There haven't been any conflicts between this mod and Build 42 since its release, and it's highly unlikely that there will be in the future. However, many new TV and radio mods have been released recently, and many of them are conflicting with this mod.

If you don't want to unsubscribe from your newly installed mods, you can manually edit the RADIO_SAVE.txt file in your save folder. Just be sure to carefully follow the instructions in the above, Guide on How to Add to an Existing Save.

Be very careful! If the first number in a line (e.g., "93200" in "93200,0,1000,main,0,none,-1") is different as in any of the above example, do not change the fourth string (e.g., "main" in this example) to "main". The first number and the fourth string, they should match.

Simply change the second number to "0" and the third number to "1000" in every line, and also set "DaysSinceStart = 0".

The Life and Living TV channel is no longer working. Is this a malfunction caused by the B42.3 version update of the game? If possible, please resolve it earlier. Thank you very much.

@Horhyzon You know what? Actually, editing the radio save file is a better and more precise method, especially if you're running multiple radio mods alongside this one. But editing the save file isn’t ideal for everyone, is it?
Horhyzon Feb 13 @ 6:15pm
It seems like changing the file is the only thing that works. Like my TV and Radio do go back to broadcasting but after a week or so they stop like normal. What does your mod do that changing the file to 0 days doesn't?

@liao2024 I know there's Looped TV, but I haven't tested if it works properly.

@Virsia Your RADIO_SAVE.txt looks completely normal to me. Radios and TVs don’t broadcast every hour but they only air about four times per day per channel.

If you've been tuning in to other channels besides NNR for 24 hours and still only hearing static, go to your radio folder, open RADIO_SAVE.txt, try deleting all the GUID strings like "b993ed34-6b25-44f7-a3c5-7395c28e18ba" and setting them to "none" (as shown above). Save the file and check if that resolves the issue.
jaelee1111  [author] Jan 27 @ 11:53pm
@Virsia Can you send your RADIO_SAVE.txt file located at C:\Users\[your ID]\Zomboid\Saves\[your difficulty setting]\202*-**-**_**-**-**[game start date & time]\radio\data? You can use any file-sharing website you prefer, or a temporary one like limewire.com , for example.
Virsia Jan 27 @ 4:44pm
yes
jaelee1111  [author] Jan 27 @ 5:58am
@Virsia Do you mean only the NNR radio loops, while the other radio channels don’t?
Virsia Jan 27 @ 4:00am
only NNN loop for now the rest is Bzzzzzt
jaelee1111  [author] Jan 27 @ 2:56am
@Virsia Do you mean that some channels are looping while others aren’t? Which ones are looping, and which ones aren’t?
Virsia Jan 27 @ 1:27am
I have partial looping like only NNN loop and the rest doesnt loop, how to fix this

@󠀡󠀡󠀡󠀡󠀡󠀡Marc Great to hear it's working now! You're welcome!
Okay seems to work now. Thanks! :jake::steamthumbsup:
jaelee1111  [author] Jan 25 @ 2:26am
@󠀡󠀡󠀡󠀡󠀡󠀡Marc It should work fine since this mod is pretty much Vanilla-like. But, the load order of the mods should be Voiced Radio and TVs (B42) mod first, followed by this mod, to ensure that this mod overrides the other. Try adjusting the load order and let me know if that works.
Doesn't seem to be compatible with Voiced Radio and TVs mod.
jaelee1111  [author] Jan 7 @ 2:10am
@Virsia The jamming effect near the end of broadcasts is part of the game’s atmospheric design, simulating poor signal quality. This mod doesn’t alter that behavior.
jaelee1111  [author] Jan 7 @ 2:06am
@Virsia I think it’s just a pre-recorded automated broadcast. It’s probably Mad Max out there too, I guess.
jaelee1111  [author] Jan 6 @ 7:24pm
@AbsynthMinded @Shock Rampage @bigcool3571 Sorry, I wasn’t able to figure out the issue. The instructions are now included in the main page description. Please follow the steps provided, and if you have any further questions, feel free to let me know.
Virsia Jan 6 @ 4:25am
I have question @jaelee1111 do the transmission get jammed here? sometimes in vanilla radio and TV transmission near the end get jammed like having bad broadcast.
Virsia Jan 6 @ 4:20am
dang this is creepy shiet like we on Knox county is isolated from the rest of the world, its mad max here while out there there is cooking show with damned ads
engin beyefendi Jan 4 @ 1:53am
Thank you for answering.
jaelee1111  [author] Jan 3 @ 7:48pm
@AbsynthMinded Still some mods may have an indirect impact on TV and radio. In addition, if you change the sandbox setting Months Since Apocalypse to a value other than the default, any changes you make to the start day in Radio_Save.txt won’t take effect.
jaelee1111  [author] Jan 3 @ 7:43pm
@engin beyefendi No, not for this mod. But, there are other mods that work with B41. I’m not entirely sure though if they function properly, as I haven’t tested them myself.
AbsynthMinded Jan 3 @ 6:46pm
I did all the things suggested, shows remain off with Mod unloaded and Days set to 0 and 1 to be sure. I am not going to be able to figure out what else would be impacting this. No other mods impact the TV Radio..
engin beyefendi Jan 3 @ 12:24pm
Is there a B41 version of this?
jaelee1111  [author] Jan 2 @ 3:42am
@Cuckoo Thanks, Cuckoo!
jaelee1111  [author] Jan 2 @ 3:40am
@airventis The exact name of the sandbox setting, if you haven’t changed it yet, is Maximum Media XP Level, and you can set this value up to 10 to completely remove the XP cap.
jaelee1111  [author] Jan 2 @ 3:28am
@bigcool3571 @Shock Rampage

Can you try the following steps?

1. Disable this mod.
2. Exit the game, restart it, and then exit again.
3. Change the value of DaysSinceStart to 1 in the RADIO_SAVE.txt file.
4. Check if the TV and Radio start working again.

If the TV and Radio still don’t work, it’s not an issue caused by this mod.
Shock Rampage Dec 31, 2024 @ 8:14am
Following on with bigcool3571, I followed the same steps on day 17, and the tv shows are not showing again for me either.
Cuckoo Dec 31, 2024 @ 6:24am
@airventis It’s a new ‘Character’ sandbox setting in B42 named “maximum media skill cap” or something (definitely has “media” in the name).
airventis Dec 31, 2024 @ 4:51am
ive never seena sandbox setting for "TV skill gain cap" or anything fimiliar
bigcool3571 Dec 31, 2024 @ 3:46am
@jaelee1111 Sorry for taking time to get back to you, but:
Yes, the mod is enabled and toggled on during a save.
Yes, i used the file search to get my right save file and then edit the radio.txt (at first it was 1 then i changed it to 0 still didnt fix)
Yes, i used the basic windows notepad to change the option from (it was 18 on my current run to then 1 and 0)
Yes, i made sure to make the changes to the txt when i was not ingame, and didnt have zomboid running.

I hope me sharing this helps you bugfix issues with the mod, and also happy new year when it comes around :)
jaelee1111  [author] Dec 31, 2024 @ 12:44am
@Chris P. Bacon Awesome to hear it’s working well! When I tested my mod, I enabled it on the 28th, and it worked perfectly without needing to touch the RADIO_SAVE.txt file.
jaelee1111  [author] Dec 31, 2024 @ 12:34am
@Saber Ah, I see! thanks for clarifying! The reason I made this mod is because, at the start of the game, you’re pretty much stuck indoors trying to catch the TV schedule. But if you spawn in a spot without a TV, you have to fight through zombies just to find a house with one, and by the time you get there, the broadcasts are over. Then you crash from exhaustion, miss the early morning cook show, then go out for food, fight more zombies, attract a bigger horde. By the time you finally get to a TV again, you’ve already missed most of the shows. And it just spirals from there. I figured if the TV broadcasts looped infinitely, it’d give you a chance to actually enjoy the game a bit more without all the chaos.
Chris P. Bacon Dec 30, 2024 @ 11:39pm
I'm in my second week right now and it seems to be working as expected. Very good.
Saber Dec 30, 2024 @ 8:35am
@jaelee1111 Sorry I just didn't respond when using this MOD, not that it's useless
jaelee1111  [author] Dec 29, 2024 @ 11:55pm
@Newbie_99.9 You're welcome! I'm glad it's the one you were looking for. Enjoy!
Newbie_99.9 Dec 29, 2024 @ 11:53pm
This is the mode I want. Thank you so much.
jaelee1111  [author] Dec 29, 2024 @ 4:30pm
@Saber Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I’m sorry you feel it’s not useful. It might not be for everyone, but some players still find it helpful. If you have any suggestions or ideas for improvement, I’d be happy to hear them.
jaelee1111  [author] Dec 29, 2024 @ 4:27pm
@bigcool3571 Have you enabled the mod? Have you checked the save file’s date and time to make sure you're editing the correct one you’re actually playing with? Did you use Notepad to make changes to the RADIO_SAVE.txt file? And did you fully exit the game, edit and save the file, then restart the game afterward?
Saber Dec 29, 2024 @ 7:40am
it's no use
bigcool3571 Dec 29, 2024 @ 7:07am
Btw i tried setting this radio/tv option to 1-0 after the cutoff date but still not coming back
