Awesome mod, not a Breton but I'm fascinated by its culture and history and am looking forward to completing the mission tree.

Giving this mod a try, though if I may suggest instead of giving parliament for the "Reinstate our Kingdom" I modded the Irish High King reform (giving the exact same effect) and localizing it into the Bretonic High Kingdom as well as coopting some of Irish ideas into Brittany's

Updated to correct a bug that softlocked a couple missions after unlocking Parliamentarism.

I've quit every Brittany run I've done in EU4 because the poor nation is so... misrepresented. French culture group. Mission tree to conquer France. Very un-Breton. This is the mod I've been waiting for.

Updated for increased compatibility :
- Removed the stonehenge modification
- Removed the government reform and replaced it with parliamentarism (for now)
Added some breton names for neighboring provinces as wll

That's a brilliant idea ! I am creating the file, will update it as soon as I find how to enable both parliamentarism and the nobility estate without creating a new government reform

Bevet Breizh! Burning Paris was the most satifying thing about this mod, ah the development going into Naoned...

Also, may I suggest breton names for provinces like Anjou, Bas/Haut Poitou and Maine when conquered by Brittany?

Incredibly fucking based. Bevet Breizh !

@Entrophy As I stated in mod description, Bretons are not Gallic and thus would have no reason nor interest in reforming gaul or restoring mainland celtic cultures, especially since they're long dead with no means, at the time of the game, to recreate dead cultures and languages
Entrophy Dec 10, 2024 @ 2:05pm
could be cool to restore gaul and maybe restore the mainland celtic people make a mega culture group like russia can do with slavs
TurtleShroom Dec 9, 2024 @ 2:08pm
I totally agree. Also, I think you should still keep the ability for Bretons to restore France, just for the delicious irony, especially if you also boost Culture Conversion to represent the opposite of the forced language reforms done to Bretons.
Stoatdaddy  [author] Dec 9, 2024 @ 1:39pm
@TurtleShroom You're making a fair point, I'll probably change the mission to unlocking parliamentarism no question asked ; less file disturbance anyway for the same result
TurtleShroom Dec 9, 2024 @ 12:13pm
It's a shame you added a Government Reform, because that completely breaks compatibility with any and all Mods that touch it.

Also, I had no idea that there was never a consideration of uniting France as Brittany. A Celtic France sounds awesome to me.

@MK Black Sure thing ! Will try out your mod

This looks nice! Brittany was certainly lacking in content for the entire lifespan of EU4 unfortunately. On a side note, I added new Breton monuments to my mod yesterday for anyone interested in a Breton playthrough. Perhaps we could share some ideas? Cheers Stoat.

I was looking for something like this on the workshop frantically yesterday, finding it on the workshop today is wild, fate happened

@debrux Je vais voir si c'est possible, mais je ne garantis rien !

@ChaffyExpert Brythonic is basically the language and culture group of Wales, Brittany and Cornwall ; Irish and Highland have gaelic as a language group, though both gaelic and brittonic are part of the Insular Celtic greater family. As for the Scots Lowlander language, it's a West Germanic language so it is only normal that it remains in the English culture group
ChaffyExpert Dec 5, 2024 @ 4:33pm
Wouldn't Irish Highland and Scottish also be Brythonic?
debrux Dec 5, 2024 @ 1:43pm
Superbe idée ! Je teste de ce pas.
En tant qu'amoureux de l'ile de Bréhat, je rêve d'un "Great Project" qui metterait l'ile sur la carte, mais ça parait difficile (et probalement un peu tiré par les cheveux) :)
