Make the gates the same way you make vanilla ones: at a Heavy Workbench with wood and iron/lead. You'll need 8 wood and 3 iron/lead bars.
Jonny956 Apr 22 @ 2:54pm
how can i make the gates XD

Furniture for Dragons and 10/10 mod

Most likely. I'm still able to use the mod, just had to deactivate one part of it that, admittedly, I didn't much use often (Job Stones), so wasn't much of a loss. Armor renders just great now, though! So lmao.

I believe the activation of Job Stones alters the base appearance of the sprite or something, so placing rendered items that aren't the default size caused it to wig out? I don't really code so I wouldn't know but, just a thought ^^;;
Turtleren  [author] Apr 21 @ 7:44pm
That's... really bizarre. I have no idea why a mod would cause issues with armour rendering, especially considering I leave vanilla code to do most of the dragon armour rendering, save for the legs and any glowing textures.
I can only guess that the other mod hasn't accounted for non-default sprite sizes, which is fair enough in a way considering Terraria is basically hard-coded for the player's default sizes in a few different places.

Update 2: Appears to be a mod conflict with Final Fantasy: Distant Memories (Alpha) mod! Not sure what specifically causes the issue, but uninstalling the FF made the vanity armor work just fine.
Pseudopomp Apr 21 @ 12:37pm
Update: Appears to happen with all the vanity armors for the Biggin's. Due to this, I suspect a mod conflict, though I have no idea what would do so. I'll try and hunt it down.

To see what it looks like:

For some reason, the Forbidden Armor set is.. not working correctly. The head accessory works just fine, but when I use the chestpiece and leggings, they cause the dragon's model to mess up - it appears my tail and wings are brought forwards more, hovering ahead of my dragon's body, and the chestplate shows up as like.. a weird red and green image clinging to the background of my character.
Turtleren  [author] Apr 20 @ 11:06pm
I haven't been able to reproduce any such issues myself, so I'm suspecting it's some sort of mod conflict. Anything that touches the player's rendering could risk breaking how the dragons appear, especially the big ones considering their difference in size.
King Julian Apr 20 @ 4:44pm
Super fun mod to play on, but I've noticed an issue I'm not too sure on how to fix
It seems that the breath + most head accessories (for big dragon) don't fit to the actual head, but instead hover below it, and only fit when crouching
Oddly enough accessories for L'il dragon seem to work and are positioned properly
Arakamira Apr 17 @ 6:35pm
Oh my goodness I was trying to figure out a way to get around the effects for all this time by mixing and matching dyes and armour pieces but you're already adding a toggle to it? Thank you so much :sob:
Turtleren  [author] Apr 17 @ 5:27pm
Glad to hear you're enjoying the mod 🩵

I can add a client config option into the L'il Dragon mod where most of the custom set bonus functionality is handled, so you can manually toggle those set effects on or off. You can probably expect that update to come out in the next 30 minutes in v4.6.1

The horn hiding thing is a different beast altogether and I'll probably leave that as it is for now :)
Arakamira Apr 17 @ 4:32pm
I've fallen in love with this mod, the fact there's custom armours for the dragons just makes it better...

Though, is there a chance that you could add some sort of item that disables like, the vanilla set bonus effect? I think the hallowed armour set looks unbelievably pretty, but I'm not a fan of the pulsing and afterimages it leaves behind so it forces me to not use a helmet

It would also be nice if some helmets hid your horns completely since they have the horns poking out a little depending on which horns you picked

Still, this mod is amazing and I love it, thank you for making it a thing!

Hey @Shadow81, dragon breath has two parts:

First, if you haven't already, you need to craft and use a Breath Gem.
Make the Dragon Breath Bench with 10 obsidian, then you'll need 3 of either Ruby, Sapphire, Topaz or Emerald gems to craft a Breath Gem for either Fire, Ice, Electricity, or Life breath respectively.

Second, you need to bind the key in your Controls (from the main menu, Settings > Controls > Keybindings). It's under the MrPlague's Authentic Races category, and it's the Primary Racial Ability. Hope that helps!
Shadow81 Apr 5 @ 8:36am
When trying to use the dragon breath abilities, the Z key does not do anything. How can I check to make sure that it is the correct activation key, and how could I edit it in the server.config?
Turtleren  [author] Apr 3 @ 2:27am
They are indeed very good! This community never ceases to impress me with their commitment to these dragons :)
It's an honour to implement such awesome additions~
Syrreth Apr 3 @ 12:16am
The new armors look fantastic, actually blown away by them. That's some insane commitment to do every vanilla armor! Now lets see them complete the repertoire and do every single calamity armor as well!.. Nah, but I wouldn't put it past them after a random drop like that. Good job Chaos_Knight, you legend.

No worries, and thank you!

Regarding different statue states... not really. I've had the question before, and the main problem is that I have to manually draw each and every variation again as statue sprites aren't layered like the normal player's sprites are. Even if they were, it'd still be a big effort. It makes sense why the vanilla game doesn't bother with making the petrified sprite adjust to the player's customisation options.

For context, it would take 1326 new sprites just to support the B'ig Dragon statues alone, including all horn variants for all statue material types. (the math is 51 hair styles * 13 statue materials * 2 variants, non-winged/winged = 1326 new statue sprites).

Making new poses would be less extreme, but still a fair amount of effort. So yeah, long story short proooobably won't be doing that unless I get a sudden desire to do so.
SpyroZealot Feb 28 @ 8:11am
Awesome, thank you! I had that one downloaded and never found out how to use it, doh. This mod is sweet, thanks for making it :)

Are there any plans for tweaking the petrified state? I think it would be nice if the stone dragon had the same horns as the player. And maybe a vanity option for different poses like lying down or wings outstretched. I understand you're busy, I just thought I'd throw that out there!
Turtleren  [author] Feb 27 @ 11:29pm
I suggest using the Recipe Browser mod. It has functionality to let you all search recipes by mod, so you'll be able to check everything there!

Oh, and the null breath gem uses 1 Obsidian, made at the dragon breath bench~
SpyroZealot Feb 27 @ 11:13pm
Is there a place I can see all the new crafting recipes this mod adds (whether in-game or somewhere on steam)? I absolutely love it so far, but I forgot how to craft the null breath gem. Plus, I want to see what dragon vanity options there are. It's a bit of a chore to give the guide everything I own and hope something comes up. Thanks!
Turtleren  [author] Feb 23 @ 9:00pm
Should be fixed now (please update your L'il Dragon mod version!).
Just a sidenote that there are still some incompatibilities when running Metroid Mod, this mod, and Creative Tools together, but running just this mod and the Metroid Mod should now work OK.
Turtleren  [author] Feb 23 @ 8:38pm
Metroid mod is gonna drive me insane
I'll... take a look into it.
Airi Feb 23 @ 8:19pm
Seems that there's a bug with the Metroid mod with the latest update that causes the player to move left on it's own even through walls.
Turtleren  [author] Feb 20 @ 2:14pm
I probably won’t change the way dragons hold items, mostly because it’d be a technical nightmare to do, and would throw a wrench in the fundamentals of how the legs are animated.

Regarding fire breath, there is more information about it on the L’il Dragon workshop page, but here’s a quick summary:
- Make the Dragon Breath Bench using some obsidian. This acts as the crafting station for breath-related things.
- Make an elemental Breath Gem using either rubies, sapphires, emeralds or topaz (fire, ice, life and electric breath types respectively)
- Use the breath gem, then hold the primary racial key (Z by default) to use your breath attack!
Layne01 Feb 20 @ 7:31am
how does the fire breath work?
Layne01 Feb 20 @ 5:03am
it works the player is not being forced to move to the right side of the world, as a suggestion instead of the dragon holding a torch in its mouth it could hold it with its hand because they have hands like us that can grab. i got the idea from Wings of Fire.
Turtleren  [author] Feb 19 @ 5:05pm
The issue should now be fixed in version 3.12.4 of the L'il Dragon mod. Please update and let me know if you face any further issues with getting pushed across the world~
Turtleren  [author] Feb 19 @ 4:19pm
Thanks a heap for nailing down which mod is causing the conflict. I can't express in words how thankful I am that you were able to figure out exactly which mod has been causing this long-standing issue :)

I'm able to reproduce the issue and am working on a fix for it now~
Layne01 Feb 19 @ 9:00am
it is the creative tools mod
Layne01 Feb 19 @ 8:50am
it is a mod conflict but im not dont know what mod
Layne01 Feb 19 @ 8:13am
i posted them
Layne01 Feb 19 @ 7:58am
i dont know how to do that so il write them down and write on my profile
Layne01 Feb 19 @ 7:51am
ok, il post a screenshot on my profile
Turtleren  [author] Feb 19 @ 7:31am
I've had multiple reports of such things happening but haven't been able to replicate the issue in my own sessions or with others I've played with. I highly suspect this is a mod conflict, but I am unsure of which mod is causing it.

If you can figure out which mod is conflicting and I'm able to replicate the issue on my end, I might be able to fix the problem, but otherwise I can't do a lot.

And @ERROR2401, that sounds like it could be interesting, but I'm not likely to more dragon variants specifically, unless I have a random spur of inspiration fill me with motivation for such a thing XD
Layne01 Feb 19 @ 7:17am
There is a bug that keeps happing my player (dragon) keeps moveing to the right side of the world (can i stop it?)
ERROR2401 Feb 17 @ 8:19pm
I just had a thought, what if there was an eastern dragon race? it'd probably be 3 blocks tall but also 3+blocks wide for its hitbox. It definitely wouldn't be as long as an actual eastern dragon to be a reasonable size, but still look like a (short) eastern dragon
Turtleren  [author] Feb 14 @ 6:03pm
@Madalovin, Dynasty Wood doesn't count as 'wood' in the base game, so this makes sense~

Regarding vanities and armour, the answer is: when/if myself and/or other contributors get motivated to do so.
Making vanities for the big dragons (or any of my races, really) is a big effort! I am also personally taking a bit of a break from modding to enjoy using my own mods + playing other games, asides from fixing a few bugs or making small tweaks when I get the drive to do so.
Xenomorph Albinos Queen Feb 14 @ 5:24pm
I'm wondering when all the dragon costumes, or rather armor, will be available.
Madalovin Feb 11 @ 7:11pm
Dynasty Wood does not count as 'wood' for making the Dragon Gate recipes.
Glaxion Feb 10 @ 7:45am
This and Calamity are my favourite mods so far that I've experienced and the fact that it has gem upgrades that fit into calamity is perfect, looking forward to seeing if any more B'ig Dragon vanity is put out as well.
Turtleren  [author] Feb 9 @ 8:33pm
No worries, thanks again for the report and do let me know if you encounter it again~
Moth Dragonfly Feb 9 @ 7:11pm
I wanted to try and test it out but both my friend and I got frustrated enough to make a new world; I am using the same character so maybe we can test it in the future. We had assumed it was the Dragon Fledge Wings at first actually, since it started doing that after we had made those (I had the bridle equipped in both scenarios).

Regardless, thank you for the response ! I hope you can find and squish the bug ! If my friend and I find the sanity to test it again (given that you haven't found out what happened), we'll let you know!
Turtleren  [author] Feb 9 @ 7:10pm
I’ve added a small change now in the L’il Dragon mod, where mounting mechanics are handled. I’m hoping that guards against the crash occurring again.
I wasn’t able to replicate the crash unfortunately. It could possibly be a mod conflict, but if it is I’m not sure which mod is causing it.
Turtleren  [author] Feb 9 @ 6:53pm
Hmm, thanks for the report~
This *may* be related to a change I made recently where mounting another player attempts to trick the game into thinking you're actually riding a mount, so certain items which provide effects only while mounted will work.

If you're able to replicate the bug consistently, I'd like to know. I'd also be keen to know if the bug stops happening when you remove a particular mod, but I understand that would be a tedious process.

In the meanwhile, I can add some defensive measures to try and stop what I believe is causing the crash, but no guarantees.
Moth Dragonfly Feb 9 @ 6:41pm
Hihi, I believe my friend and I have found a bug, but I'm not sure if you can replicate it! It's a little weird because it was working just fine last night, but I was playing this big dragon and they were playing the dog race. When I tried to pick them up via right click, it crashed.
https://file.garden/ZRrN22_MomIqlqks/crashlogimg.png
Whatever happened, it seems to work fine with humans. We didn't test it much afterwards. We've since deleted the world and made a whole new one and disabled the extra races that we weren't using.
These aren't the only mods we are using so if we need to send in the active mod list I can!
DonYoshi125 Feb 1 @ 8:07am
Ok! Thank you for doing so!!!
